Chapter 638 - 640: What on Earth Does He Want to Do?

But even when he said that, no one was willing to pay attention to him.

Mo Jiantao was stifled with anger, but he didn’t seek out any more embarrassment for himself.

The tea set that Yu Siqiao presented to Grandpa Mo was custom-made by a renowned figure in the world of tea sets and had taken a long time to arrange.

Grandpa Mo’s expression softened slightly when he received this gift, and he couldn’t put it down.

For Qin An, it was a trendy new handbag, and for Qin Yuan, it was a two-year VIP card to a beauty salon.

The gift to Mo Jiantao was much cruder—Yu Siqiao simply handed over a card.

Yu Siqiao knew that Mo Shu and Mo Jiantao didn’t get along, so he didn’t directly call him "Dad." Instead, he said, "Lord Father-in-law, this is a little something from me."

Mo Jiantao glanced at it and snorted coldly, "Having such a smooth tongue, yet you can’t even call me ’Dad’!"

Without further ado, he took the card. "A card? How much money’s in it?"

Yu coughed lightly, "Not much, and there’s no password."

But he didn’t mention the amount.

However, since it was from Yu Siqiao, Mo Jiantao figured the sum wouldn’t be too meager, and his demeanor improved a bit.

The gifts Yu Siqiao chose weren’t particularly expensive, but they were certainly to the recipients’ liking.

Mo Shu glanced over but said nothing in the end, resuming his conversation with Grandpa.

Mo Jiantao sat on the side, watching Grandpa Mo and Mo Shu talk. He gradually drifted off when he heard Grandpa Mo mention the babies’ names.

After lunch, Mo Shu watched Yu Siqiao play chess with Grandpa Mo.

Qin An was busy arranging tea and tending to other small details for them, while Mo Jiantao and Qin Yuan had long since vanished. Inside the study, there was an air of contentment.

Mo Shu watched for a while before returning to his room for a nap. When he woke up, they were still at play.

Yu Siqiao had learned chess from Mrs. Xing Mengzheng, and his skill was remarkable. Grandpa was very pleased and lost track of time. By dinner, Grandpa Mo was still reluctant to stop.

After dinner, Mo Shu and Yu Siqiao were ready to go home.

Just before leaving, Mo Jiantao suddenly called out to Mo Shu, "Hey, stop right there."

Mo Shu pretended not to hear and let Yu pull him along by the hand towards the exit.

Mo Jiantao coldly huffed, "Son-in-law, wait a moment."

Yu hesitated and stopped with Mo Shu in tow.

Mo Shu turned back, his eyes cool and distant as he swept them over the scene.

Mo Jiantao walked with a limp as he came over holding a box, saying, "Here’s a wedding gift. Take it."

He thrust it into Yu Siqiao’s hands and quickly turned to leave.

Yu Siqiao said, "Thank you, Lord Father-in-law."

But Mo Jiantao turned and left swiftly, disappearing from their view in no time.

Mo Shu glanced at it—it was a velvet box, a Jijue jewelry box.

Once back in the car, Yu Siqiao passed the box to Mo Shu, saying, "Open it and see."

Mo Shu: "It’s for you, not for me."

Yu Siqiao smiled and opened it.

Inside was an ornament.

A pair of newlyweds, a man and a woman, only palm-sized and somewhat hefty.

The ornament was brightly colored, and from the faces, you could see a semblance of Mo Shu and Yu Siqiao.

Mo Shu’s smile was radiant, holding a bright bouquet, wearing a white wedding dress; the tiny dress was exquisitely made.

At the base of the ornament was an inscription: A gift from Mo Jiantao.

Yu Siqiao picked up the ornament and said, "It’s really beautiful."

Mo Shu had mixed feelings and couldn’t help but say, "What exactly does he want?"
