Chapter 500 - 501: A Small Conflict

Ji Nan’s voice was very agitated.

The gloom in his eyes, which had lingered for so long, suddenly lit up. Yu Siqiao stared intently at the heart rate monitor in front of him, feeling as if his heart, too, had been suddenly grasped.

Dr. Wu removed the acupuncture needle and observed carefully, shaking his head, "It’s just a normal reaction to the needle."

Yu Siqiao’s heart sank inch by inch.

Mo Shu had been in a coma for 18 hours.

Grandpa Wu said that she must be transferred to the hospital, as she needed to be put on an IV and required more precise examinations.

But after all the examinations, they still couldn’t find anything.

No reason could be found for Mo Shu’s coma and weakness.

The clinical doctor was also called in for an examination, and after adjusting his glasses, said, "There are currently no signs of her waking up, but the fetus has gradually stabilized. Apart from the mother’s continuing weakness, the children are healthy. All of the expectant mother’s vital signs are normal. My guess is that her coma is more likely due to psychological reasons."

Yu Siqiao was stunned, his heart unexpectedly scorched.

The doctor asked, "Did the expectant mother suffer any psychological trauma recently?"

Yu Siqiao’s Adam’s apple moved slightly.

Traumatized...

Subconsciously, his mind raced to Mo Shu’s shocked expression before she fell into a coma.

Seeing that Yu Siqiao didn’t respond, the doctor surmised and said, "Currently, we haven’t identified any physical trauma on Princess Mo, so we believe it is very likely to be a psychological issue. There must be some reason that caused her subconscious not to want to wake up. As her boyfriend, if you know what it might be, please do not hide it."

’Knock knock’

A knock on the door sounded.

It was Yu Chen.

Yu Chen looked inside and said, "Young Master Yu, there is something that requires your attention."

"What needs attention? Can’t you see I’m busy!" Grandpa Wu frowned, looked at Yu Siqiao, and said, "Did you and Miss Mo have a fight?"

Yu Siqiao quieted for a moment and said, "There was indeed a bit of a conflict."

"What kind of conflict? Miss Mo was perfectly fine before. I saw how spirited she was when she played the piano. How could she suddenly fall ill just like that?" Grandpa Mo walked in from the outside with a troubled look on his face, "Weren’t you two loving and affectionate just a short while ago, hugging and embracing? What kind of conflict could cause Shushu to be in a coma for so long without waking up!"

It was undeniably distressing.

Yu Siqiao’s worry was no less than anyone else’s; in fact, he had hardly left Mo Shu’s side. Still, it was as though he had not uttered a word until now.

He simply stayed beside her, holding her hand with a look on his face that bore a trace of complexity. Occasionally, his gaze would go blank as if lost in thought, then he would let go of her hand as reality intruded, only to take her hand in his again a short while later.

This pattern repeated—a mix of conflict and struggle.

Grandpa Mo had not initially believed that there could be a conflict between Mo Shu and Yu Siqiao, but seeing Yu Siqiao’s reaction at the moment, those details were suddenly magnified.

Seeing him still quiet, Grandpa Mo became exasperated and said, "Don’t tell me you’ve done something to wrong my granddaughter and upset her to this point!"

Yu Siqiao’s gaze darkened as he said, "Grandpa Mo, I will explain this matter to you later."

Grandpa Mo’s face turned graver, "Later? How much later? Shushu has been in a coma for so long, don’t you care at all!"
