Chapter 84: Undeads
Chapter 84: Undeads
Leonardo’s expression did not change because of Thomas’s words.
As Thomas got closer, he activated True Shadow, splitting his figure into three.
There was no limit to how many shadows he could form with the same strength. It only depended on his Intelligence and Mana.
Right now, forming two shadows posed no problem.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
His three identical figures flew in different directions.
Thomas, who was ready to attack, was stunned.
"Are those clones?" The spectators were even more shocked.
There was no shortage of people with detection abilities.
And they concluded that all three were the same person.
As Thomas hesitated, Leonardo smiled at him.
"Which one will you chase?" he said simultaneously with his shadows.
Three identical voices at the same time—it created a buzzing effect.
Thomas’s expression turned extremely ugly.
With a spear in his hand, he finally chased one at random.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The other two entered the portal.
As for the one being chased by Thomas, it let itself be pierced by Thomas’s spear.
Buzz!
It then shattered into fragments of blue light.
"Damn it!"
Thomas cursed in rage.
He realized he should have known it wasn’t the real one the moment the other two flew into the portal.
Because the real one clearly intended to enter the portal.
Unfortunately, Leonardo had already entered it.
Even in the Transmission World, it would be difficult to find Leonardo, and he could choose a random gate there to go to Floor 2.
In fact, only moments later, he was already on Floor 2, flying toward Ellie and Liam’s location.
Thomas’s words in public naturally made him feel uncomfortable. It would be a lie to say they didn’t.
The problem was—they were all true.
Thomas might be arrogant, but he was not stupid.
He could deduce things even from small details.
Lack of evidence was not a problem.
It only meant the law couldn’t touch him—but what about others who wanted what he had?
Not just the items he took from the ruins, but also the key to the 1st Gate on Floor 1.
People no longer needed to investigate who that person was.
They would simply follow Thomas’s conclusion.
Combined with the scorching heat of Floor 2, Leonardo felt slightly dizzy.
But because of this, his determination to become stronger grew even greater.
He flew faster until he arrived at a barren mountainous area.
Each mountain was large, filled with massive rocks.
From afar, Leonardo looked at one particular mountain.
He could already see a large cave entrance at the front, guarded by dozens of undead—black skeletons that seemed alive, carrying swords and spears, even shields.
Their human-like size did not make them easy to deal with.
They were fast and agile, like seasoned knights.
Two Ellies and two Liams after using True Shadow still couldn’t break through the undead formation.
Even when the two Ellies spewed extremely hot black flames, the undead blocked it by forming a massive shield formation.
It was truly capable of withstanding Ellie’s black flames when reinforced with layers of dark energy from the undead.
"Boss!"
Ellie shouted when she saw Leonardo.
As an owl, Ellie remained small and inconspicuous.
Unlike Liam, who as a wolf was massive and ferocious—over three times the height of a human, nearly six meters tall, with golden claws and fangs.
Yet even he was forced back by the coordinated attacks of the undead.
Their movements were too synchronized.
Leonardo approached and could finally see inside the cave, which was not exactly dark.
There were even more undead inside, surrounding a stone table where five small bottles filled with black liquid sat, emitting a dark glow.
They were indeed Ascension Potions. Each bottle even had "Level 21" written on it.
"Ellie, why didn’t you teleport or use Invisible Mode to enter? Is it not possible?" Leonardo asked.
This was what puzzled him.
Ellie should have been able to enter easily.
She even entered the ruins without difficulty.
But there were always special mechanisms, and back then, she still couldn’t take the treasure before the ruins were destroyed.
"Yes, I can’t. It’s really strange... I tried sneaking in but got repelled and forced to reveal myself," Ellie replied.
Leonardo nodded.
Just as he expected.
Basically, this cave and its reward were designed that way.
There was no solution except breaking through by force.
"I’ll give you both buffs," Leonardo said.
By strengthening both of his monsters while observing the right timing, his chances would be much higher.
Light radiated from his eyes, and changes immediately appeared on Ellie and Liam.
Ellie was not very noticeable, but Liam grew even larger.
"Aooo!"
The wolf howled loudly before charging forward again with newfound power.
Ellie followed behind him.
Unfortunately, it was daytime, so Ellie couldn’t use her owl song.
Who knew if it would even work, since the undead had no hearts.
They were not living beings and did not give EXP even when destroyed—only when completely shattered would they stop.
Boom!
Clang!
A fierce battle erupted.
Watching it, Leonardo felt like he was seeing an elite army holding back an invasion of ferocious monsters.
Even though most of the undead were fighting, some still stood guard at the cave entrance, watching him.
He realized his plan had been anticipated.
But Ellie and Liam were now stronger due to his buffs.
In just a short time, they began to dominate the battle.
Two or three undead were successfully destroyed.
As more undead were destroyed, those who had not been fighting had no choice but to join the battle.
Leonardo felt that it was time to make a move, first helping his two monsters with his shadow.
His figure split into two.
Whoosh!
One advanced forward, holding a knife in his hand, and then golden light radiated from him.
With no one around, he naturally chose to fight as a Knight.
Apex Overdrive, his knight talent, transferred all attributes that were not needed for a knight into the ones that were needed.
But that was only his shadow, so it did not affect the stats of his real body at all, meaning the buffs on Ellie and Liam did not decrease in the slightest.
