Chapter 910 - 906

2-in-1 Chapter

Click.

The hum fell to a low tone. Warmth returned to his hands. Space pushed once and released.

The transfer was complete.

Ron let out a slow breath. His legs shook once, however, he still didn't dare release Ten.

Ron felt the flow steady in his arms, and waited for the pressure to fade.

The image of that tail splitting the corridor for kilometres like a canyon flashed back; cold sweat slid down his spine.

"This feeling..." He looked at his hands.

"Good. I can still move. I'm only standing because of the Audience rule."

"Nen is still here." He flexed his fingers, let a thin Ren rise and fall, and drew his focus in.

That relieved him. If entering the reverse world meant losing all power and starting over as an ordinary person, that wasn't something Ron could accept. This test has shown how truly valuable his ability was for survival.

He had anticipated this moment. There were two possibilities when entering the reverse world:

One—losing all existing power and starting from zero.

Two—retaining all existing power.

The first scenario would make acquiring an Ascension Relic a difficulty level of 10.

The second, a difficulty of 100.

But Ron still preferred the second. Because in the first case, his power would drop to 1. In the second, his power remained at 10—or at least 9, or even 8, which was still far better.

His Nen ability was already well-developed. His techniques were diverse and complete. That gave him a huge edge in adaptability.

"It's just that… part of my power is being suppressed. And any aura not truly my own can't be used here."

Ron was disappointed, but it was still better than the worst-case scenario.

He'd expected this. If Sequence power could function in the reverse world, someone would've long since reached an extremely high Sequence level here. But that clearly wasn't the case.

"Wither, Gluttony, Specter, Bumblebee—these four Nen beasts are unusable. Sumas, and the Zodiac cards, as well."

"But Chii, Natsu, Uchiha Sasuke, Yuzuru Yamai, Law, Akame, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card, and my core ability—the Observation Platform—all still work."

"Time to gather intel."

Ron touched down on hard ground. Life signs flickered at the edge of his range. He followed a narrow path toward them, brush tapping his boots, and breathing in the air that felt different from the dark continent.

He topped a low rise and saw the town below.

The town sat in a shallow basin with straight streets and square blocks. Brick houses stood shoulder to shoulder. Red tiles lined the roofs. Thin pipes ran along walls and crossed alleys, hissing now and then from small valves.

Lamp posts held round glass bulbs with slow gear dials beneath them. A tall clock tower ticked over the plaza, its face ringed by a simple metal frame.

Tick.

People moved about—leather coats, tool belts, short capes. Some wore masks with single filters. Others pushed handcarts stacked with crates stamped in black ink. A public board stood by the well, covered in paper slips and stamped seals.

The air smelled faintly of oil and steam mixed with chemicals.

Ron stepped onto the main street. No one stared. Strangers were common here.

Hooves clopped past. A horse-drawn wagon rolled by with metal drums tied down by chains. A pair of youths in plain coats argued over a map, then hurried toward the board.

"Chii."

Chii appeared at his side.

"Start gathering intel."

Ron walked at an even pace, eyes on the signs over doorways: forge, apothecary, gear shop, food hall. In a side lane, a steam line vented and died down.

Hiss.

A word reached him from the plaza.

"Delver?"

Ron turned his head. The board clerk was posting a fresh notice under a heading that read:

Delver Registry.

The title "adventurer" existed in many worlds. "Delver" did not.

A guess formed in Ron's mind, and his mood tightened by a shade.

"A world from the "Made in Abyss "

Ron let out a low murmur. "Hard to say whether that's good luck or bad."

The reverse world was essentially another world altogether. From the moment Ron stepped into it, he had already understood that. Compared to a completely unknown place, a world he at least had some knowledge of was certainly preferable.

But this world wasn't normal.

It wore a soft, appealing exterior, but its core was filled with brutality and despair. And most important of all—how one obtained an Ascension Relic was still a mystery.

Ron looked toward the distant edge of the terrain. Beyond that rim, the ground dipped sharply downward. That was the focal point of this world.

The Abyss.

"If there's an Ascension Relic here, then it must be in the Abyss."

"But there's a problem with entering the Abyss."

"Going in is easy—coming back out is the hard part."

Within the Abyss were all kinds of rare treasures and strange creatures, but also many dangers. More crucially, exiting the Abyss came with side effects. The deeper one ventured, the worse the effects upon returning.

At a certain depth, turning back was no longer an option. It became a one-way path.

It was much like the dark continent in that sense. Returning required sacrifices, whether it be you or to the people you brought on the disaster to.

Ron stood at the edge and looked down. The depth was immeasurable. According to the map, it exceeded twenty thousand meters. But danger increased the deeper you went. Near the upper levels, the risks were low.

"With my strength, the creatures in this zone pose no real threat."

Even so, Ron didn't descend immediately. Instead, he returned to the town to gather information. He searched with "Riko" as a keyword, but unfortunately, found nothing useful.

"I can't wait here forever. I'm already in the reverse world—I have to get an Ascension Relic. Even without Sequence-level power, if others can obtain one, so can I. Among Nen users of the same tier, few can rival my strength."

Even stripped of many abilities, Ron was still a formidable force.

He concentrated aura into both legs, bent his knees, and leapt straight down—one hundred meters.

Boom!

He landed, shaking the nearby grass just slightly. The impact was controlled, causing no loud noise, and avoiding alerting nearby creatures.

Ron pulled out a map. "This should be Starwatch Hill."

He scanned the surroundings. "Gyo."

He looked around. The hill was a stepped ridge of dark stone with short grass on the ledges, thin pipes along the slope leaking a faint hiss, and a ring of low metal posts on the crest like a fence; luminous moss traced the cracks, shallow pools held still water, a ten-meter cable tower with a small bell stood at the edge, and far off the ground fell to a pale rim that marked the start of the Abyss while a few delvers moved on a lower terrace.

Aside from a few cave explorers in the distance, the place was empty. No dangerous creatures, no hidden treasures.

Over time, countless explorers had already scoured this area—so thoroughly that even rookie explorers like the Red Whistle level could reach it safely. Describing it as "dug three meters deep" wouldn't be an exaggeration. Under such conditions, expecting to find anything left was unreasonable.

Ron turned his gaze to the crystal sphere before him. Faint starlight began gathering, drawn into the orb.

"I wonder what kind of Nen beast will form from absorbing the traits of the Abyss…"

Ron was cautious of the Abyss—but this part excited him. The more intense the Abyss's properties, the stronger the Nen beast that would emerge from it.

Overhead, a bird with an odd appearance was circling.

The moment it spotted Ron, it seemed to recognize him as prey and dove down aggressively—without gathering any intel.

"A Hammerbeak?"

The name of the bird surfaced in Ron's mind. Its main feature was the hammer-shaped beak.

"Natsu."

At Ron's command, Natsu appeared.

Facing the attacking Hammerbeak, Natsu didn't dodge. He charged directly.

"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"

Flames burst from his fist.

Boom!

One punch landed dead-on. The bird didn't even react in time.

Crack!

The force shattered its internal bones. Fire engulfed it, burning its feathers to ash.

The scent of roasted meat wafted through the air.

Ron reached out, and the Hammerbeak's charred corpse dropped neatly into his grasp.

Just then, a terrible scream echoed nearby.

Ron turned toward the sound and saw a massive figure flash past—serpentine, yet not quite a snake—moving at incredible speed. The screaming only grew more agonized.

Two people. Likely cave explorers. They weren't very old.

One boy lay on the ground—his body was already severed in half.

Beside him, a girl knelt, sobbing desperately.
