Chapter 59: Chopping Monsters. (3)

"Now you’ll see, little lizard. I’m going to dest—"

Again, Jeremy was interrupted.

The lizard man had appeared in front of him in a blur of speed and had delivered a punch so strong it had shattered the armor’s helmet.

The lizard man shot out at incredible speed. He almost seemed to teleport beside Jeremy.

Using all that acceleration, the lizard man delivered an extremely powerful punch to Jeremy, breaking the metal of his armor’s helmet and sending him with immense force to crash into the wall.

Aku simply crossed his arms, observing the scene.

"Tch, damn son of a bitch," Jeremy complained painfully, his face all bruised as he emerged from the wall.

The blue light shone again. The ether became again the part of the armor that had been broken.

"I’ll send you back to the swamp you belong to!" Jeremy roared as suddenly the entire restaurant filled with turrets, and they began firing indiscriminately at the lizard man.

These bullets weren’t energy, but a black material with a very resistant appearance.

However, they didn’t seem to be enough to damage the lizard or his armor.

The bullets bounced off his armor, making mere scratches.

Seeing that, Aku moved further away. It was quite obvious he didn’t want to be hit by bullets.

Then the demon king noticed a crack pulsing energy beside him.

That gave him an idea.

The boy extended his hand toward the crack and began absorbing the azoth it released.

"Mmm, fascinating," the boy commented as he watched the crack begin to disappear.

Aku had realized that crack, being a phenomenon generated by the essence of chaos, could also be absorbed by him.

That meant Aku could not only close the crack but doing so would also feed him and give him more power.

Aku smiled slightly and began absorbing the crack little by little, absorbing the azoth it contained.

Little by little, the crack closed, as if it had never opened.

The amount of azoth the crack contained was considerable, a good amount of energy.

"I suppose I can repeat the process with all the others," the boy told himself as he headed toward another crack and repeated the process.

Meanwhile, Jeremy and that lizard were fighting.

To match his speed, the man had to add sensors to his armor, plus thrusters to go faster.

Now with very high-quality sensors, he was able to detect his enemy’s movement, and thanks to his thrusters, he was able to match his speed.

"Heh, now you’ll see, bastard," Jeremy said behind his helmet as he propelled himself forward and sent a blow at the lizard man.

Both began fighting in a great exchange of blows.

Jeremy was at a disadvantage at first, but his armor’s program began learning the lizard man’s movements.

Little by little, Jeremy gained ground in combat. Little by little, he gained advantage.

An advantage that allowed him to connect several blows while blocking others.

While that was happening, Aku simply began absorbing the cracks, and therefore also ended up obtaining more Azoth.

Apparently the heroes had managed to escape and were no longer in that place.

"Take this! Sonic impact," Jeremy said as he connected an uppercut to the lizard man’s jaw.

But it didn’t stop there.

From Jeremy’s armor gauntlet came a sound wave which increased the blow’s damage.

The lizard man, irritated, raised both arms, joining his fists to launch a descending hammer blow.

However, Jeremy propelled himself backward, dodging that fierce blow by a hair.

"Still hungry? Why don’t you eat these missiles fresh from the oven?" Jeremy asked with a mocking smile behind his helmet.

The armor’s shoulder pads rose slightly, revealing a compartment where small missiles were stored.

The missiles were expelled at great speed against the lizard man.

The latter couldn’t defend himself in time and received them head-on.

Powerful explosions impacted his face, and his helmet couldn’t cushion all the blow.

His hard scales weren’t enough either, and that attack left his wound open.

However, even if the wound was recent, the lizard man was already regenerating, leaving Jeremy impressed.

"Wow, I see your regeneration is quite good. Maybe I should use something genetic to change that, but for now, laser shot!" he said as he aimed at the lizard’s head with his finger.

The tip of his finger began to glow and from his mechanical glove shot a powerful concentrated light laser.

However, while the laser managed to impact, it didn’t manage to do any damage to the lizard, something that left Jeremy bewildered.

"What the hell?" he wondered, confused.

Aku had the answer.

Apparently the lizard man’s armor material had supernatural properties.

That material had the ability to absorb light attacks, and therefore the laser had been easily absorbed by the lizard man’s helmet.

Jeremy was puzzled, while the lizard man took advantage to attack.

He propelled himself with immense speed. He almost seemed to teleport beside Jeremy.

But the latter, thanks to his sensors and thrusters, had no problem dodging the attack.

Or at least that’s what Jeremy believed.

Yes, it’s true. Jeremy’s armor activated the thrusters in time thanks to the sensors, pushing him backward.

However, the boy had forgotten a small detail: the cafeteria had limited space.

When Jeremy propelled himself backward, he hit directly against the wall behind him, which allowed the lizard man to reach him and attack.

The lizard man showed no mercy.

With a quick gesture, he ripped off the armor covering his chest.

With a bite, he broke the metal helmet covering his head, and with a tail swipe sent him flying to the other end of the cafeteria, making him embed into a wall again.

There, the lizard man didn’t hesitate and kept attacking, opening his jaw and sending from his mouth a stream of blue plasma.

Jeremy quickly put his arms in a cross in front of him and activated an energy shield.

However, the plasma pierced through the shield and reached Jeremy’s arms, melting his armor and drawing a scream of pain from the man.

Hearing that, Aku turned.

Should he save him or was it better to let him die?
