Say It, and I’m Yours:
Say It, and I’m Yours:
[POV: Hayden]
Her still scarlet cheeks flushed, and her scent—Goddess, her scent—was flooding my senses again.
Sweet, sharp, wild. Pine and snowdrops tangled with the raw, unfiltered ache of arousal.
It was like she was wrapping invisible threads around me, drawing me closer with every breath she took.
And I let her. Because this time, I didn’t want to stop.
I pressed in closer, letting my thigh slide between hers just enough to make her gasp. My fingers shifted from her chin to her throat, slow and possessive, brushing the soft skin just below her jaw.
I traced the curve of it with the pad of my thumb, watching the way her body arched instinctively toward mine. Still not pulling away. Still not saying no.
“I can feel your heart racing,” I murmured, voice low, rough. “Seems like you’re burning under me, little wolf.”
She made a soft sound—half plea, half disbelief—and it only made me hungrier.
I moved my hand up to her waist again, then higher, splaying my fingers just beneath her breast. Her body was so warm, so responsive, like it had been waiting for this.
For me.
My lips hovered over hers, close enough that I could taste the tension in the air, the pulse pounding between us. But I didn’t kiss her. Not yet.
No, I wanted her desperate first.
“You know,” I said slowly, savoring the look in her eyes, “if you keep using those pheromones on me like this… something might happen. Something neither of us can take back.”
Her breath hitched, but she didn’t speak. She couldn’t.
I could see it—feel it—in her entire body. She was overwhelmed, drowning in whatever this was between us right now. Her pupils were blown wide, lips trembling with the words she wasn’t brave enough to say.
Yet.
I leaned in, lowering my mouth to her neck, and breathed her in.
The scent was even stronger here. Just beneath her ear, where the skin was soft and thin, and her pulse fluttered like a trapped bird. Sirius howled in the back of my mind, clawing at my control.
I didn’t bite. Instead, I let my tongue graze her skin—slow and deliberate.
Her entire body shivered against mine. The sound she made—Goddess, the sound she made—was the most sinful thing I’d ever heard. A choked gasp that shot straight through my core.
She felt me then. All the length of me. Pressed against her stomach.
Hard. Wanting.
My restraint was fraying. Badly.
“You feel that?” I whispered against her skin. “That’s what you do to me.”
Her hands gripped the front of my shirt like she didn’t know whether to push me away or pull me closer. Her lips were inches from my neck, parted in anticipation.
My mouth moved along her jaw, slow, reverent, possessive. I could already taste her—salt and want that made my blood boil.
And then—her voice. So soft I almost didn’t hear it.
“Why…” she whispered, “Why are you doing this to me?”
I pulled back just enough to meet her gaze, one hand still on her ribs just under her perfect breast, the other lifting to cup her jaw again. Her eyes were searching mine—confused, trembling, needing an answer.
“You already know why,” I said quietly.
She swallowed hard.
“You feel it too,” I murmured. “The way your body reacts. The way your wolf stirs when I’m close. You’re not denying it anymore.”
I let my lips brush hers—barely. Just enough to make her inhale sharply.
“If you want me,” I breathed against her mouth, “if you want to be mine… all you have to do is say it.”
She blinked up at me, wide-eyed, lips parted. The moment was so fragile I could’ve shattered it with a whisper.
She was going to say it. I felt it.
The word hovered on her lips, trembling at the edge of her breath. One second more—
Then pain exploded in my back.
A violent force slammed into me, knocking the breath from my lungs and hurling me forward.
I stumbled, catching myself just before I crushed Aria beneath me.
Snarling, I spun around, my body shifting on instinct, claws sliding free as fury took over.
Who the hell dared interrupt me?
