Chapter 444: Exoloring Helior City
Chapter 444: Exoloring Helior City
Evening slowly descended over Helior City.
The golden light of sunset faded, replaced by countless glowing lanterns illuminating the massive streets of the ducal capital.
The city became even more lively at night.
Crowds filled the roads. Merchants loudly advertised their goods while laughter and conversations echoed everywhere. Warm lights shone from shops and restaurants, giving the entire city a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Many people chatted and laughed while walking through the streets.
Amon, Selena, and Seraphina walked side by side through those busy streets.
Thankfully, they were all wearing casual outfits instead of noble clothing, making them blend into the crowd more naturally.
Amon wore a black long-sleeved shirt with dark pants and boots. His messy black hair moved lightly whenever the evening breeze passed through the streets.
Selena wore a fitted crimson sweater with black pants, while her silver hair flowed beautifully behind her.
Meanwhile, Seraphina wore a simple cream-colored sweater along with black trousers. Her golden-blonde hair remained tied in a ponytail, giving her a calm yet attractive appearance.
Even dressed casually, the two women attracted plenty of attention from passersby.
Mostly from men.
But because Selena constantly carried an indifferent aura while Seraphina remained expressionless, nobody dared approach them.
Meanwhile, Amon happily walked between them while enjoying the atmosphere.
With an excited expression, he said, "Haha! This city really feels different at night."
Selena glanced at him sideways.
With a slightly amused expression, she replied, "You are acting like a child."
With a grin on his face, Amon said, "I am simply appreciating life, Senior. You know I have been living in a jungle for months."
Clicking her tongue lightly, Selena replied, "Tch. I guess your reaction is natural then."
Seraphina quietly watched the two of them before a small smile appeared on her lips.
Soon, the trio entered one of the crowded market streets.
Food stalls lined both sides of the road.
The delicious smell instantly spread through the air.
Roasted meat skewers, fresh bread, sweet pastries, spicy noodles, grilled fish. There were countless foods being sold everywhere. Amon’s eyes sparkled immediately.
"Ohh!!"
Without hesitation, he rushed toward a nearby stall.
Selena sighed.
With an exasperated expression, she muttered, "He really acts like a starving man."
Despite saying that, Selena herself was excited to eat many things.
After all, eating street food was one of her hobbies despite being a princess.
A few minutes later, the three of them walked together while eating various street foods.
Amon happily bit into grilled meat while speaking with his mouth half full.
"This is amazing!"
Selena immediately frowned. "Don’t talk while eating," she scolded.
Seraphina quietly handed him a napkin. With a calm expression, she said, "Take this, Amon."
Smiling brightly, Amon replied, "Thanks, Sera."
The trio continued roaming through the markets while enjoying themselves.
Everything felt calm and entertaining for Amon. The last few days had been perfect for him. There was no sense of danger, no fear of unknown things, no worry about finding food or water.
And no need to eat that same soup and tasteless meat in the village.
Though he did miss Scarlett, wishing she was here with them.
But aside from that, everything was peaceful. It was a very peaceful evening.
After some time, they eventually entered a famous shopping street.
Compared to the noisy markets, this place looked more elegant and refined.
Beautiful stores lined both sides of the road.
There were jewelry shops, various clothing stores for men and women, magic tools, accessories, and luxury goods.
Everything could be found here.
When Amon looked at those shops, a thought suddenly came to him.
Meanwhile, Selena and Seraphina became interested in some nearby stores, so Amon quietly slipped away on his own.
’They helped me so much... I should get some gifts for those two,’ he thought with a smirk.
After walking around for a while, his eyes suddenly landed on a jewelry shop.
"Perfect," he muttered.
He entered inside and started checking the displays.
Inside the glass showcase, two items immediately caught his attention.
The first was a beautiful silver bracelet decorated elegantly with several tiny red rubies embedded around it.
It looked mature and refined.
Perfect for Selena.
The second item was a pair of delicate orange earrings.
The earrings were shaped like tiny glowing flower petals made from polished amber crystal. Small golden chains hung gently beneath them, reflecting light beautifully whenever they moved.
They looked elegant yet soft.
Perfect for Seraphina.
Amon stared at them thoughtfully.
"...Yeah. These fit them perfectly."
Without hesitation, he bought both.
Each item cost fifteen gold coins.
A painful amount for normal people.
But Amon didn’t hesitate much.
After all, the two girls had helped him greatly.
Soon, he returned to where Selena and Seraphina were.
The two girls had been trying to find him, wondering where that boy had suddenly disappeared to.
The moment Selena saw him, her expression sharpened slightly.
With a strict look, she crossed her arms.
"Where did you go?"
Amon chuckled awkwardly.
"Relax, Senior. You are acting like I’m a kid who got lost the moment your eyes weren’t on me."
With a mischievous smile, Selena replied, "Well, to be honest, you actually are like a kid."
Amon’s lips twitched.
But he couldn’t get angry right now.
He was going to give them gifts.
With a calm expression, Seraphina defended him. "Don’t say such things, Big Sister. He is not like that."
Selena didn’t say anything after that.
She had only been joking with Amon.
Actually, it would be a lie to say she wasn’t worried after seeing him suddenly vanish.
He already had terrible luck when it came to getting involved in dangerous situations.
That was why she had been worried for him.
Just a little worried.
Meanwhile, Amon took out the bracelet first before handing it toward Selena.
It was inside a small glass box.
Selena blinked in surprise.
The silver bracelet rested beautifully in her hand while the tiny red rubies sparkled under the street lights.
At the same time, Amon handed the orange earrings toward Seraphina.
He hadn’t packed them and simply brought them as they were since he had been too eager to give them to her.
Seraphina quietly held them in both hands.
Her golden eyes remained fixed on the delicate amber petals.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Amon looked between them awkwardly.
’Why are they standing like that... they should wear them and thank me...’
"...Uh?"
Then suddenly, he moved.
Without warning, he gently took the bracelet back from Selena.
He decided to help her wear it.
Selena looked surprised.
With widened eyes, she asked, "What are you doing?"
