Chapter 99 : Doesn’t Learn Her Lesson
Chapter 99 : Doesn’t Learn Her Lesson
“Hnn… hnnnn…”
On the soft bed of the inn, a girl curled up tightly, eyes shut, hands pressed against her flat, tender belly, letting out weak little moans, looking half-dead.
Yep.
As expected, it was menstrual pain.
Because she couldn’t resist eating too much of her beloved sherbet, she ended up like this.
Even a high-stat warrior couldn’t overcome the flaws of the female body. This was someone who could punch a dragon to death, who didn’t even flinch when she lost an arm—yet now she was being tortured into near-death by cramps.
Looking at Rozelite writhing in misery, Russell felt no sympathy whatsoever.
His eyes only said one thing: Serves you right.
Last time, cramps had been caused by an unavoidable factor. This time, Rozelite had only herself to blame.
She knew her period was coming, yet still gorged herself on cold sweets, gambling that nothing would happen. What was she thinking?
Why didn’t she ever learn?
“Mr. Slime…”
Rozelite batted her eyes pitifully.
“Rub my tummy for me…”
“No. Suffer on your own.”
Russell was merciless, firmly deciding to sit this one out.
She needed to learn her lesson!
“But I feel like I’m going to die…”
“Heh.”
Russell glanced at her status screen. At this rate, she was losing maybe one HP every three or four minutes.
Slower than she regenerated.
Ever since she acquired 【Regeneration】, Rozelite’s six-digit HP pool had become more obvious than ever.
A broken arm or leg—what would be a mortal injury for a normal person—was barely an inconvenience for her absurd vitality. Sure, it hindered movement, but her body just powered through it.
HP could be understood as “life force,” and stronger life force enhanced muscle strength, endurance, and recovery. But no matter how high, humans still had weaknesses—fatal wounds.
A severed head. A ripped-out heart. A destroyed lung.
Even if someone survived a little while through sheer vitality, the human body couldn’t replace such organs. Like a precision machine missing a vital bearing, it would eventually break down.
Death was inevitable.
But with 【Regeneration】, things changed.
Missing organs could be regrown. Critical functions could be temporarily rebuilt. It might not be perfect, but it kept the body alive.
And the exact effects varied.
For Russell, who had no real “vital points” as a slime, even being cut in half was fine—Lv.1 【Regeneration】 was enough.
But for a human body, things were trickier. At Lv.6, Rozelite could stop bleeding and regrow limbs—but losing an organ left her in a 【Severely Injured】 state, hard to recover from.
Lv.8 might allow seamless reattachment of limbs.
Lv.9… maybe even surviving decapitation.
That said, watching Rozelite sweat buckets on the bed, Russell finally felt a little pity.
She’d suffered long enough. Surely the lesson had sunk in.
“Do you admit you were wrong?”
“…Yes.”
“What did you do wrong?”
“I… I shouldn’t have eaten so many cold things… I shouldn’t have been greedy… I shouldn’t have ignored Mr. Slime’s advice…”
“Will you do it again?”
“…No.”
“Good. A comrade who admits mistakes is a good comrade.”
Russell raised a tentacle, warmed with 【Fire Magic】, and coiled it gently around her pale, soft waist and stomach. The heated tentacle pressed firmly against her lower belly, warmth seeping past skin, muscle, and fat, like a hot compress laid directly on her womb.
The pain lessened at once.
“Mmm… so warm… Mr. Slime…”
Rozelite shut her eyes, biting her lip lightly.
“A bit… tighter, please…”
…Had this girl gone bad?
No weird skill was even being used, so why did it sound like that?
“Right, Mr. Slime.”
Rozelite suddenly opened her eyes.
“Why does it have to be heated from the outside?”
“…What?”
Russell blinked.
“I mean, wouldn’t it work better if you heated me from the inside? It’s closer, right?”
She looked eager.
“Mr. Slime, why don’t you stick a tentacle inside my belly and heat it directly?”
“…Even if you’re technically right, the answer is no.”
“Eh? Why not?”
“Because… uh… because the reproductive system and digestive system aren’t connected. Just like how I have to crawl out of your backside to block the front properly…”
“What the hell am I even saying?!”
“Eh? Really?”
Rozelite tilted her head.
All this time, she thought Mr. Slime just had… preferences. Now she realized he didn’t.
Well, even if that was the case, she didn’t mind. Not like it’d be the first time.
“Mr. Slime…”
“Enough. Stop fantasizing.”
Russell cut her off, scowling.
Any further and this story wouldn’t pass anywhere.
Not that it wasn’t already toeing the line…
Her thoughts were becoming more and more dangerous. Ever since that tentacle-monster fight in the Swamp Labyrinth, she hadn’t been right.
“Damn it! Am I, a slime, seriously going to have to give her a sex-ed lesson?!”
As Russell’s thoughts spiraled, Rozelite suddenly perked up, as if sensing something. She got up from the bed and leaned against the window, peering outside.
A group of armored guards entered the inn, their armor clinking, a scroll in hand.
“Mr. Slime…”
“Don’t panic. They’re not necessarily here for us.”
Even as he said this, a tentacle tipped with an eyeball slipped silently out the window, tailing the guards.
Inside, the men questioned the innkeeper, showing him the scroll.
Russell saw clearly—
It was a sketch of a girl. Long, fiery red hair spilling over her shoulders, sharpness in her eyes.
Someone he’d seen before.
“…The kid from the carriage?”
