In the morning, sunlight streamed through the white curtains. Li Manman drowsily reached out to turn off the alarm on the bedside table, then reluctantly climbed out of bed.
Yawning repeatedly, she threw off the covers and walked toward the bathroom. Before going to sleep last night, Li Manman had set an alarm, intending to get up early to bring breakfast to Tong Ze.
Li Manman stood in front of the sink, groggily turned on the faucet, and splashed her face with cold water, immediately feeling much more awake. After freshening up, she chose a white dress from the wardrobe, put on light makeup, and then went downstairs for breakfast.
Feng Yi was just coming out of the guest room. He looked at the perennial late riser in surprise: "Why are you up so early today?"
"I’m supposed to drop off breakfast to Tong Ze at the hospital, so I can’t get up too late."

Feng Yi picked up the milk on the table and poured a glass for her: "I’ll go with you to the hospital in a bit."
"No need, just head to the company. I can drive myself."
"I don’t feel at ease letting you be alone with him," Feng Yi said jealously.
Li Manman was speechless, as if she were about to cheat on him: "Can’t you give me the basic trust? I’m aware of my current status and know the boundaries."
"It’s you I trust, but I’m certain he’ll take the chance to exploit the situation."
"Whatever."
Having said that much, there was nothing more Li Manman could say, so she had to let him be.
After breakfast, Li Manman took the breakfast prepared for Tong Ze and drove to the hospital with Feng Yi.
The moment they got out of the car and entered the elevator, they were unexpectedly met by the girl’s parents, who splashed a bucket of unknown substance at them.
Feng Yi quickly turned and shielded Li Manman in his arms. The stench of the slop filled the corridor immediately.

The repulsive smell made Feng Yi almost gag. He turned and glared at the two: "You are the parents of that girl?"
"Yes, how dare you have the police keep holding my daughter? She didn’t stab someone on purpose. I want you to withdraw the lawsuit immediately."
A crowd had gathered around, all covering their noses and whispering in disgust.
Li Manman was truly furious. How could there be such unreasonable people? Her eyes pierced them sharply: "So you think stabbing someone is justifiable, do you? Like mad dogs biting people everywhere. Let me tell you, I’m set on this lawsuit. I’ll make sure your daughter stays in jail. People like you, who are totally unreasonable, pollute the air just by living. It serves your daughter right to be dumped. I hope she ends up alone for life."
