Chapter 74: Tripping like a fool always
Chapter 74: Tripping like a fool always
"Okay."
"Okay?"
Cheon Areum repeated after Yoon Seoyul in confusion when Yoon Seoyul grabbed his hand, which was loosely clenched, and kissed just under the thumb. Not the reaction he was expecting. But it was Yoon Seoyul, after all.
"Thank you for sharing that side of you with me, Areum."
Suddenly at a loss for words, Cheon Areum’s initial anger subsided as his hand was kissed again by Yoon Seoyul.
"You can do as you wish. I will support your every decision from now on."
Feeling smug, Cheon Areum chuckled lightly at his husband, who was totally wrapped around his finger.
"If I say I want an abortion now... is that also okay? After all, I promised to have your baby..."
"It’s your decision to make, not mine. It’s you who I want to live my whole life with, Areum—no one else will do."
"Not even Rian?"
"No... he needs you more than me."
Seeing this, he was even more convinced Yoon Seoyul really wouldn’t be able to live without him. At first, he had thought that even if it was hard on him, Yoon Seoyul would live on with or without him, since he was the main character of this world despite everything—but perhaps he truly couldn’t.
It was about time he showed Yoon Seoyul that he was a capable person. He would prove that he wasn’t someone who could be killed. As long as he had Cheon Areum’s body, he would never back down. His will to live was stronger than anyone right now.
"If you don’t want the baby, you should get the procedure done soon before it becomes..."
Yoon Seoyul trailed off, pausing as he blinked, lost in thought. A warmth settled on his face as Cheon Areum gently cupped it.
"I want to keep my promise. I’ve grown too attached to this baby to let it go now."
Settling into the hand on his face, Yoon Seoyul shifted uncomfortably on the seat. Cheon Areum had been trying to ignore it, but...
"What the fuck is wrong with you? You’ve been acting like I fucked your insides out last night when it’s the opposite."
Yoon Seoyul’s eyes widened a little as he spoke out.
"Did I... was I too rough with you last night?"
"You kept saying you feel good and to keep going..."
"Strip."
Cheon Areum cleanly cut him off before he started reporting every little thing he did last night in the throes of passion. Yoon Seoyul hadn’t been sitting properly this entire time—he hadn’t even let his back touch the seat. No wonder he looked so rigid. So uncomfortable. Cheon Areum’s eyes narrowed slightly as the realization settled in. How had he even managed to drive like that?
"Are you stripping, or do you want me to do it?"
Fully knowing what he meant, Yoon Seoyul took off his shirt. As soon as his back peeked out, a jumble of red marks scattered across the skin filled Cheon Areum’s vision. Some had scabbed, while most of them were still bleeding even now. Not even his arms had been spared.
"You had the time to kiss the shit out of me this morning but couldn’t even remind me to heal you?"
Cheon Areum slapped the bare back, causing Yoon Seoyul to hiss lightly, and only then began to heal him.
"I left Rian at the guild. We should head back now."
"With Joon?"
"Hmm."
The reason he hadn’t left him at home or even with Kim Ryung’s family was because it was dangerous. The guild was safer.

Coming out of the car, Cheon Areum walked ahead of Yoon Seoyul, who quickly caught up to him after locking the car. He placed his hand on his nape, casually brushing the hair away and kissing it in passing. But Cheon Areum flinched and froze with shock abruptly.
Seeing his reaction, Yoon Seoyul stopped and was about to touch him again when Cheon Areum dropped to his knees with a flushed face, completely stunned, left staring at the ground. Head empty, his own hand grazed the nape Yoon Seoyul had kissed just now.
It’s not as if it’s the first time he kissed me here...then why...
Why was he so overwhelmed?
"Areum, are you not feeling well?"
Yoon Seoyul tried to touch him once again. Cheon Areum swiftly dodged the hand.
"Wait—just give me a moment..."
Perplexed as to why his touch was rejected, Yoon Seoyul brought down his hand from the air slowly and asked again gently.
"What’s wrong? Look up at me at least."
Cheon Areum quietly shook his head, closing his eyes with his face lowered. Yoon Seoyul helplessly sat there with him for a few minutes. And even more helpless was Cheon Areum, who didn’t know what was going on with him.
"Areum..."
Yoon Seoyul called out softly, tugging at his racing heart even more.
"Areum..."
"Stop..."
"Cheon Areum. Look at me."
At his insistence, he gradually raised his head and opened his eyes. Immediately upon doing so, he met Yoon Seoyul’s dark eyes gazing at him.
"Do you have a fever?"
Not sure if he could touch him now, Yoon Seoyul spoke out, seeking permission. Cheon Areum could also feel his face heating up, but it wasn’t a fever.
"No... it’s not that."
"Then...."
Yoon Seoyul, amused, still stared at him and then didn’t say anything more, as if he finally understood what had happened. Clearly smiling at him, Yoon Seoyul stood up and turned around.
"Take your time."
"....."
Ah... so embarrassing...

"I met everyone at the guild and received many compliments and chocolates too!"
Cheon Areum listened absently as Rian chattered on about what he had been doing, his attention split between the story and the food in front of him. He picked up a piece of sushi with his chopsticks and lifted it toward Rian’s mouth for the next bite. But the moment it reached him, Rian snapped his mouth shut. The piece of sushi hovered awkwardly in the air, caught mid-motion between the chopsticks. Cheon Areum paused, a faint crease forming between his brows as he studied him.
Is he full?
Before he could ask, Rian gently pushed his hand away and redirected it—guiding the chopsticks back toward Cheon Areum instead.
"I didn’t like this... you can eat it, hyung..."
"Oh."
Cheon Areum didn’t think much of it. He simply opened his mouth to eat the piece himself—
But before he could, Yoon Seoyul’s hand came in and intercepted his wrist, smoothly taking the sushi from the chopsticks and eating it instead. Cheon Areum blinked once, then let it go without comment. As if nothing had happened, he reached for other dishes, carefully picking out different items from the crowded table and offering them to Rian one by one while listening to him talk.
"Everyone at Yoon Seoyul’s guild is so cool," Rian said excitedly, eyes bright as he spoke, "but no one is as cool as hyung!"
"Is that so?"
Cheon Areum replied lightly, a faint hint of amusement in his voice.
"Hyung is the best! The strongest hunter!"
Rian declared it with complete confidence, his admiration shining through without the slightest doubt. Well, at least there was someone who fully believed he was strong.
