The Ruined World Was Mistaken for a Game

Chapter 113: Faith (3)

Chapter 113: Faith (3)

Translator: Dreamscribe

When he opened the door and entered, there were memories waiting there.

The forest and trees, the flowing river, and the clustered huts. The scenery of the Giant Tribe village, where he had first met Hanu in the past, unfolded before his eyes.

‘I was disappointed.’

Jinwoo, having heard it was a village of the Giant Tribe, went there imagining a scene from a fairy tale. Forests like buildings, insects bigger than elephants, and cakes the size of cars. Since it was a Giant Tribe village, he thought everything would be enormous.

However, the village of the Giant Tribe was incredibly ordinary.

The only difference was that the wooden buildings were slightly larger.

Jinwoo had shown his disappointment in front of Ella.

‘...It's plain. It just feels like a countryside village.’

Jinwoo had prepared many things, thinking he might ride a large stag beetle if one appeared. After hearing Jinwoo’s imagination, Ella gave a slight laugh and shrugged her shoulders.

‘Isn’t that obvious? This place can’t have a strange ecosystem all on its own.’

‘It’s not very fantasy-like. It’s too realistic.’

There was no romance.

This was a world where goddesses and magic existed, so shouldn’t it at least have that? But reality was harsh.

The Giant Tribe's village was just one part of the beautiful Arsilan. The Giant Tribe did not enlarge themselves except during battle.

Thinking of the old days, Jinwoo walked toward the hut.

Traces of the Giant Tribe were everywhere. Symbols representing Ella and Arsilan were carved into the trees, and several statues were erected.

Jinwoo looked at the statue of Hanu holding a shield.

He regretted not being able to talk more with her in the underground labyrinth. However, considering the long years of suffering she had endured, rather than reminiscing, he hoped she had found rest.

As Jinwoo gazed at Hanu’s statue like that, someone approached. After staring at him in surprise, the person let out a long breath and walked over slowly.

“I always believed... that you would come someday.”

The voice was soft but filled with strong will. An old man with a bent back was supporting himself with a cane. Jinwoo turned his head and looked at him.

Jinwoo had the body of an Archmage suited for battle. Though he looked different from before, the man recognized him.

“You’ve aged a lot.”

“Heh heh, I’ve been through quite a bit.”

It was Sank, Hanu’s younger brother. It had only been a little over a hundred years, not enough time for a Giant Tribe member like Sank to grow so old. Jinwoo looked into his soul.

He had embraced Ella’s light, which protected this place, and had ground his own soul to increase resistance to Erosion. As a result, he had become capable of enduring Erosion for a few days.

Sank stood next to Jinwoo and looked at Hanu’s statue with him.

“Has my noona found rest?”

When Jinwoo nodded, Sank smiled brightly.

“It’s a good day. For the first time in a hundred years...”

“...I didn’t even know this place existed.”

He could not have imagined that survivors existed outside the Magic Barrier. Why had he believed Jinwoo would come here?

“Ella-nim said so. That if she or noona ever caused trouble or were driven into a crisis, you would definitely show up. Didn’t you always handle the aftermath, Jinwoo-nim?”

There had been a time when Hanu smashed the chin of the Crown Prince who had been abusing the Beastkin. Ella once tied a corrupt cardinal to the top of the temple. Jinwoo had persuaded the Emperor through a meeting and even collected donations by showing him meteorites.

“This time too...”

They had certainly caused trouble.

Ella had split her divine authority to protect the survivors. Hanu had entrusted this place to Jinwoo.

Sank guided Jinwoo into the village. All the Giant Tribe came out and approached Jinwoo. There were even children looking at Jinwoo with curious eyes. Holding onto hope that the situation would improve, the Giant Tribe had continued their lineage.

All of them looked malnourished, as if they hadn’t eaten properly.

Although this place was spacious, it could not feed everyone adequately.

“We should treat you properly..., I’m sorry.”

At Sank’s words, Jinwoo shook his head.

“No, that’s something I should do.”

Jinwoo raised his hand, looking at the Giant Tribe. A magic circle floated up, and a brilliant golden light spread throughout the entire space.

Golden Arsilan.

This space also became Arsilan.

“Long ago, Ella and the Giant Tribe’s great chieftain Hanu made a pact. If your people became the shield that protects Arsilan, Ella said she would bless the Giant Tribe forever with golden light.”

Jinwoo had also been present at that moment.

It was the moment when the Giant Tribe joined the Arsilan Golden Alliance. The Giants quietly listened to Jinwoo’s words. The children gazed at Jinwoo with sparkling eyes.

“The Great Chieftain of the Giant Tribe, Hanu, gave her body to protect Arsilan. She became a massive wall that allowed us to win the Great War.”

Paaah!

The end of the boundary surrounding the space rippled, and the scenery of Arsilan revealed itself.

“The pact was not broken. It was perfectly fulfilled. The Giant Tribe, as a member of the Arsilan Golden Alliance, protected Arsilan.”

Several Giants collapsed to the ground. They looked toward the Arsilan beyond and shed tears. Many of their kind had succumbed to Erosion and become enemies of Arsilan.

“From now on, I, the Archmage and King of Sillion, will protect you. My magic and divine power shall be your shield.”

Sank knelt and bowed his head to Jinwoo.

“Will you stand with me?”

Thud! Thud!

The Giants knelt before Jinwoo.

“O sovereign of the Giant Tribe! What must we do?”

“We will follow any command.”

“For Arsilan! For our sovereign!”

The Giants revealed the power they had long suppressed. A massive energy rose and swept through the surroundings. A deep smile formed at Jinwoo’s lips.

Jinwoo took out countless foods brought from Arsilan and Earth from subspace.

“First, enjoy!”

Sank and the Giants were greatly surprised.

The children laughed brightly at the sight of the food and ran around excitedly.

“Once your stomachs are full, we shall create romance!”

Romance?

The Giants were puzzled by the incomprehensible statement, but seeing Jinwoo’s bright smile, no one asked.

Jinwoo had so many stories he wanted to share with them.

Perhaps, Hanu was listening from the Soul Gate.

***

The Giant Tribe ate to their fill for the first time in a hundred years.

They laughed and talked while eating Arsilan’s delicious food. Jinwoo showed the Giants videos of what had happened. From the beginning to the end of Arsilan Saga, they watched all the key scenes together.

After watching all the videos and listening to Jinwoo’s explanation, the Giants fully understood what Arsilan Saga was and what kind of beings the Heroes were.

Jinwoo headed to Arsilan with the Giant Tribe. He hid their appearances with magic and gave them tours of Evanth, Solis, and Marogo.

The Giant Tribe, stepping on the land of Arsilan, was overcome with emotion. They knelt and kissed the radiant earth.

“Wow! You’re strong!”

“Hehe.”

“Let’s play together!”

Upon arriving in Evanth, the Giant children quickly became friends with the other children. The children and their guardians decided to stay and live in Evanth, while 500 Giants returned to their original place to assist Jinwoo.

“Having great warriors like the Giant Tribe appear without flair wouldn’t be fun.”

Jinwoo wanted the Heroes to know of Hanu and the Giants’ sacrifice. And he wanted the Giants to regain their former glory and return to Arsilan in honor.

“Jinwoo-nim.”

Sank approached Jinwoo holding something. It was a blue robe. Embroidered on the robe were symbols representing both the Giant Tribe and mages.

Giant women, starting from their coming-of-age ceremony, would weave fabric by infusing it with their energy and power. When they had someone they cherished most, they would make clothing from it.

“Before the Erosion appeared, noona completed this robe.”

Jinwoo accepted the robe Sank handed him.

He had seen her deeply focused on something every night, but he never imagined she was making something like this.

Jinwoo stroked the robe with his hand and tried it on. A warm sensation spread through his whole body, making his heart feel at ease. Jinwoo silently looked down at the robe for a moment.

Taking a deep breath, Jinwoo looked up with a smile.

“Well then, shall we begin?”

As Jinwoo formed a magic circle, Tiris, Magic Developers, and the staff were summoned. Astel and the staff were full of excitement for this large-scale project they hadn’t had in a while.

Tiris listened to Jinwoo’s plan and nodded.

“At that scale, this space alone won’t be enough.”

“I’ll connect and merge the space with Arsilan. There’s still a lot of land left near the Beast Realm and Celestial Realm."

“I see. I’ll begin preparations immediately.”

This place was no different from an island floating in the Sea of Erosion. Jinwoo, with the support of the Soul Gate and the Magic Tower, moved the entire space itself and attached it next to Arsilan. He secured a vast land and erected a barrier.

Let’s call this place the Giant Realm from now on.

Luceren and the Elves arrived at the Giant Realm at Jinwoo’s summons.

“First, we’re going to plant a tree as big as the World Tree.”

“I see.”

“Since we can just copy and paste, focus on creating a variety of forms.”

“Understood.”

Luceren and the Elves began preparations. Tiris and Magic Developers created samples and brought them to Jinwoo.

“Master, is this size sufficient?”

A stag beetle, a ladybug, and various other insects infused with Tiris’s craftsmanship showed off their beautiful forms.

Their shells, resembling armor plating of robots, glistened in many colors under the sunlight. The horns stretching toward the sky looked as if they could split the earth, and their long antennae reminded him of Lu Bu’s.

The sight awakened something burning deep within Jinwoo’s chest.

“Truly excellent.”

In front of Jinwoo stood a stag beetle and a rhinoceros beetle as large as a truck. There were also giant butterflies, ants, and even spiders that looked quite threatening.

“Slime King.”

A summoning magic circle appeared, and the Slime King emerged in front of Jinwoo. In a smaller form, he had been reading a comic book and trembled in surprise when he was suddenly transported.

“Ah! You called?”

“Sorry to interrupt your rest.”

“Not at all. I was planning to go out anyway. This author depicts slimes in such a narrow-minded way.”

It was a fantasy comic published in Solis.

The authors were currently working on Arsilan Saga. The combination of the Soul Link’s drawing app and magic was producing tremendous synergy. Though there was some censorship, it was made viewable for Arsilan natives as well.

“Slimes are supposed to be the strongest monsters... I don’t understand why they keep portraying them as level 1 fodder mobs.”

“Is that a problem?”

"I created several slimes as low-level summons, but they were pushed back by tentacle monsters."

Slimes, with physical resistance and magical resistance, were fundamentally powerful monsters. But due to lack of recognition, no one summoned them.

Eventually, when the Slimes entered the body of the insect Tiris had made, it began to move like a real creature. A butterfly, looking like a small airplane, soared into the sky. The ants also began to march.

“Magnificent.”

Romance had begun to come alive!

Giant flowers, house-sized mushrooms, and even plant-like monsters that ate insects. Jinwoo, together with Tiris, created various massive objects.

He copied them en masse through the Soul Gate, then deployed them with the help of Astel and the staff. After enlarging the Giants, buildings were also constructed and placed based on their size.

“Wouldn’t illusion magic suffice?”

“That’s true, but this is more fun.”

That was Jinwoo’s response to Tiris’s question.

Jinwoo wanted to create a world that actually functioned. He wanted to show Ella and Hanu the sights he had imagined. He wanted the Heroes to visit this place and actually touch, feel, and experience it all.

As they placed designs crafted by the FS Games art team, it took quite some time. After investing a considerable amount of time, the Giant Realm was completed to a certain extent. It was a massive workload, enough to give Astel and the staff a sense of accomplishment.

Jinwoo and Tiris sat on top of a giant mushroom, looking out over the Giant Realm.

“It’s definitely a unique sight.”

“Right?”

“The proportions feel a little off, but it’s still fine.”

The surrounding environment seemed slightly larger than the Giants themselves, but it didn’t matter as long as romance was alive. Pursuing realism in a game only drained the excitement!

Tia (Morwen): Something’s not right with the Duke’s side.

A message came from Tia.

The factions of Baron Burzirol and Marquis Highrun were still trapped in the underground labyrinth Jinwoo had devoured. Meanwhile, on the Duke’s side, the Lord of Greed who had returned to the surface was expanding his dominion. Since his will had fragmented, there wouldn’t be major movements for the time being.

Jinwoo (Archmage): Hallon, it’s time for the worst Dark Priest to step in.

└ Hallon (Worst Dark Priest): Finally! At last! Is this the moment I become the main character?

└ Tia (Morwen): Please turn on the broadcast.

└ Helby (Guardian Dragon): Hm....

The Giant Tribe quest had also been completed smoothly.

Since they had to use the "error space" already revealed to the Heroes, there were admittedly some rough edges. However, Jinwoo intended to overpower everything through sheer presentation. There was always the excuse of "game logic" and adjusting things on the fly was exactly what made Arsilan Saga what it was.

“Ahem! I’ll do my best.”

“This seems like it’ll be fun.”

“Mmm!”

Sank and the Giant Tribe were also full of anticipation.

The prologue to the long-awaited path of revenge they had endured for so long was now unfolding before them.

“Well then, let’s go with style and romance!”

As Jinwoo clapped his hands, the Giants all let out a massive roar.

“Yeeeah!”

Slime King wiggled with joy beside them. Then he noticed something faint behind Jinwoo and was slightly startled. He tried to inform Jinwoo but couldn’t.

Shhh!

The blurry figure held a finger to its lips, asking for silence.

“Romance…”

Slime King flushed red.

“I think I get it now.”

Slime King split his body into multiple parts and seeped into the Giant Realm.

“Slime King, your role is crucial. You know that, right?”

“Kya! Of course, Master! Just give the command!”

This was definitely going to be a masterpiece!

He would do his best for the master who had shown him so many fun things!

That was Slime King’s resolve.

“Excuse me, Tiris-nim.”

“What is it?”

“Would you like to try some romance-filled slime jelly?”

Slime King looked at Tiris with a smoldering gaze and held out his jelly-like transformed body.

“I’ll pass. Just get to work.”

“Yes!”

Dang it!

Slime King could only feel regret.

Arsilan Worlds was buzzing with talk of the empty space in the underground labyrinth. It was the first bug ever discovered in Arsilan Saga.

Being located at the end of the underground labyrinth, everyone assumed it must contain something extraordinary. All the Heroes thought so and awaited the update notice eagerly.

[Update Notice]

*The issue allowing incorrect access has been corrected.

The update notice, which usually boasted an enormous word count, had only a single line this time.

Title: Is the Creator God sulking?

They even offered bribes asking to keep it quiet, but maybe He got upset because the rumors spread anyway. But come on, it’s a spoiler from the underground labyrinth, how could we possibly hold back ㅋ. The named Heroes are already getting ready. They said they’d head out after today’s notice, but things seem to have taken a weird turnㅋㅋㅋ

Anonymous1 (EN): So since the error was fixed, does that mean we can’t go back?

└Anonymous2 (KR): Do you still not get the Creator God? This is definitely Him teasing us after adding a ton of content.

└Anonymous3 (KR): That seems right. Knowing His personality, exposing an in-development zone as a bug and then giving no update? That actually makes less sense.

DeathByCheering: You think we wouldn’t find it if you didn’t post a notice? How cute.

SockThief: Oh my! How adorable.

Comfortable: Something big is coming!

└Jam-sik: Comfortable-nim ㅋㅋㅋ

└Leku: I heard you got your second class change ㄷㄷ

└Haebyul: That’s our Romance Hero. No poaching

Despite the half-hearted update notice, the Heroes were more fired up than ever. A firm belief settled in their hearts that an enormous update had surely taken place.

The Heroes understood Jinwoo’s mind better than anyone.

It was no exaggeration to say they had become masters of understanding the Creator God style.

However, Jinwoo had anticipated even that!

Because he was a Creator God who evolved and advanced.

Amidst the feverish excitement, the Heroes began their charge toward the deepest layer of the underground labyrinth.
