The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign

Chapter 412 - 402: Shut Up!

Chapter 412 - 402: Shut Up!

"Tianyu, go contact someone in Jinling who is close to Tiancong and see if anyone knows what happened!" Du Zhengxu said, turning to Du Tianyu after the director and medical staff had left the hospital room.

"Dad, I’ve already called around, but no one knows why! A Martial Artist... How could Tiancong have possibly provoked a Martial Artist?" Du Tianyu replied, her voice filled with anxiety as she bit her lip.

"A Martial Artist? What Martial Artist? I don’t care if he’s a Martial Artist or not! Du Zhengxu, I’m telling you, no matter who it is, we *must* get revenge for Tiancong! Send someone to Jinling right now! Immediately! Have that bastard who hurt Tiancong dragged to Shanghai!" a middle-aged woman shrieked hoarsely, apparently unable to register the profound fear on Du Zhengxu and Du Tianyu’s faces. She had walked over to Du Tiancong’s bedside, caressing his pale face that filled her with heartache.

"Shut up! Can’t you just fucking stop your endless nagging?" His mind a tangled mess, Du Zhengxu could no longer tolerate the woman’s chatter and whipped his head around to yell.

Stunned by his outburst, the middle-aged woman’s hand froze where it was stroking Du Tiancong’s face. Then, she shot to her feet. Turning to face Du Zhengxu, she asked in disbelief, "Du Zhengxu, you bastard, what did you just say?"

"I fucking told you to shut up! Shut up! Do you understand? Ahhh!" Du Zhengxu roared, his emotions spiraling out of control.

"Du Zhengxu! Our son was beaten like this, and when I tell you to get revenge for him, you tell me to shut up? How dare you tell me to shut up? Do you think your wings have hardened now, huh? You bastard, search your conscience and tell me how you got your start! If it weren’t for my father, would you be where you are today? So your wings have hardened, is that it? You think you can tell me to shut up now? Is it too much to ask for you to avenge our son? You bastard!" the middle-aged woman shrieked hysterically, poking Du Zhengxu in the chest.

In a hospital room that was supposed to be quiet, the couple’s emotions spiraled into a frenzy. As for Du Tianyu, she remained silent, her pretty face clouded with worry, her brow deeply furrowed.

"You’re right, it’s not too much to ask! But do you have any idea what a Martial Artist is? They’re the kind of person who could send our entire family to the Western Heaven without breaking a sweat! Do you understand that? If Tiancong really did provoke a Martial Artist, we should be thinking about what price we’ll have to pay to smooth things over, not just screaming for revenge! Do you know why Tiancong didn’t dare stay in Jinling and fled back here overnight? Because he understands what the words ’Martial Artist’ mean! Not only can we not think about revenge right now, but we also have to fucking worry about them coming to our door! Do you understand me now? If you understand, then behave yourself. Quietly stay with Tiancong and wait for him to wake up. Can you do that? I’m asking you, can you do that?!" Du Zhengxu reined in his emotions, suppressing his explosive temper as he spoke through clenched teeth in a low voice.

If he could, wouldn’t he want revenge too? But the issue right now wasn’t whether he wanted it. It was the fear that the Martial Artist who had grievously injured Du Tiancong might come looking for them.

"Would he... would he really dare to be so lawless?" Hearing Du Zhengxu’s explanation, the middle-aged woman no longer dared to shout. Instead, she swallowed hard and looked at him timidly.

"And what if he is? Our endless scrambling and showing off will only send us to the Western Heaven sooner! Shulan, I know you’re worried about Tiancong. I understand! It’s not just you, his mother; I, his father, am even more worried! He’s the only heir our Du family has! How could I not care? But the situation now is that we have no leverage. Facing a Martial Artist, we don’t have the resources to make an enemy of them. Our only hope is to de-escalate this major crisis into a minor one, and a minor one into nothing at all! Alright, I don’t want to talk about this anymore!" By the end, Du Zhengxu waved his hand, completely spent.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

Suddenly, just as Du Zhengxu finished speaking, there was a knock at the door. He didn’t speak. Instead, he walked over, pulled the door open, and stepped outside.

"Mr. Du, they’re here," a refined, middle-aged man said, pushing up his glasses after Du Zhengxu had closed the hospital room door behind him.

"Good. Take me to them." Nodding faintly, Du Zhengxu began to walk briskly.

On the hospital floor reserved exclusively for the Du Family, there was a reception room in addition to the patient rooms. Outside the lavishly decorated space, Du Zhengxu, whose face had been clouded with gloom just a moment before, forced a mechanical smile. Only then did he push open the glass door.

"Master Cai, Master Shen, Master He!" Du Zhengxu exclaimed with a strained smile as he entered and greeted the three middle-aged men seated on the sofas.

"Hmph. Mr. Du, this isn’t the first time we’ve met. Let’s skip the pleasantries," a middle-aged man with a long beard said slowly, his gaze calm as he watched Du Zhengxu walk in. "Just tell us what’s going on. What’s so urgent that you called us over?"

"Master Cai, it’s like this," Du Zhengxu began awkwardly, holding nothing back. "My son carelessly provoked a Martial Artist in Jinling. He was severely injured by that Martial Artist with a single punch and fled back to Shanghai overnight. He’s afraid the Martial Artist might follow him here, so I was hoping to ask you three masters to provide temporary protection for his safety. As for... well, please rest assured. Since I have troubled you three, I know what is expected of me."

"Provoked a Martial Artist? Severely injured with a single punch?" the three masters echoed in surprise, ignoring the last part of his statement as their eyebrows shot up.

If a Martial Artist had struck, how could the Young Master of the Du Family’s ordinary body possibly withstand a single punch? Impossible!

"Yes, that’s what my son said. So, I hope the three of you can lend a hand and help my son through this tough spot," Du Zhengxu said. Without taking a seat, he remained slightly bowed, his posture one of utter deference as he vaguely stated his intentions.

Get through this tough spot? Was he just asking for temporary protection? Yes and no. What truly concerned Du Zhengxu was whether this whole crisis could be de-escalated. Whether it was these Martial Arts masters or someone else, they could protect Du Tiancong for a while, but who could protect him for a lifetime? As long as this situation wasn’t resolved, he, the boy’s father, wouldn’t know a moment of peace.

"Heh, Mr. Du, let’s speak frankly. Is there a need to be so indirect? We people of the Martial Arts just can’t stand the way you businessmen do things," Master Cai said with a slight scoff, shaking his head. "Anyway, just tell us. What’s the name of the Martial Artist your Young Master provoked? Where is he from? We’ll get in touch and see how this matter can be resolved."

"Master Cai, I won’t hide anything from the three of you. For now, I only know that the incident happened in Jinling. Beyond that, I know nothing else. Tiancong is currently unconscious, so we’ll have to wait for him to wake up to get the exact details," Du Zhengxu said.

"Very well. The fact that we came already makes our stance clear. Rest assured. We will give you a satisfactory outcome."
