Chapter 397 - 387: You Guys Are Not as Fierce as Him!

"Change your major!"

As Li Qiuze’s words hung in the air, Qin Fan suddenly made this solemn declaration. The entire dorm room was stunned once more.

How did we get onto the topic of changing majors? What does that even mean?

"Hey, hold on, Fourth Brother. I don’t get what you’re saying. Why should I change my major out of the blue? I’m solid in Civil Engineering. I was thinking of becoming a contractor after graduation, the next big real estate tycoon!" Li Qiuzhe said, utterly baffled.

"There’s white in this world, and there’s black, but between them is a layer of gray. If you’re serious about walking that path, then transfer to the Law Faculty. Specialize, and become the ultimate gray between the black and the white!" Qin Fan said earnestly, meeting Li Qiuzhe’s gaze.

What started as a joke was met with such a sudden silence at Qin Fan’s words that you could hear a pin drop. Qin Fan didn’t rush him for an answer, simply watching Li Qiuzhe with a faint smile.

After more than ten seconds of silence, Li Qiuzhe’s voice trembled slightly. "Fourth Brother, are you serious?"

"Deadly serious. But the choice is yours," Qin Fan replied.

GULP. GULP.

Sensing Qin Fan’s completely serious attitude, Li Qiuzhe fell silent again. The sound of him swallowing nervously, however, betrayed his inner turmoil.

He was influenced by the *Young and Dangerous* movie series of the late ’90s. He was influenced by the novel *How a Bad Boy is Forged*, which took the youth by storm in the early 2000s. Countless teenagers dreamed of becoming a "big brother," wishing they could summon legions of followers with a single call. But in the end, they had to tell themselves it was only in movies and novels. Even so, every kid who grew up in that era still harbored that kind of dream.

Brother Ze from the Northeast was no exception. Far from it; the flame in his heart still hadn’t been extinguished. If his parents hadn’t reasoned with him so earnestly during high school, Brother Ze would have likely gone down that road long ago. Thanks to his parents’ guidance, he returned to the proper path, thinking he would never have anything to do with the underworld. But now, after what Qin Fan said, combined with the experience from the previous night, Li Qiuzhe felt the fire inside him threatening to erupt from his chest.

"Fourth Brother, is this really okay? Once you start down this path, there’s no turning back. The movies all show it—it’s hard to wash your hands of the life once you’ve made a name for yourself!" Li Qiuzhe said, his throat dry as he looked at Qin Fan.

"That’s not something you should ask me. The choice is yours," Qin Fan replied, still wearing that same light, carefree smile.

Difficult to leave? Hard to wash his hands clean? With a single word from me, who could possibly stop Li Qiuzhe? But I won’t say that. I won’t give him any unearned confidence. The only thing I can do is quietly help him build his foundation from the shadows. The last thing I want is for Li Qiuzhe to become reckless and arrogant because he thinks he has my backing. That’s definitely not the outcome I’m hoping for.

"To hell with it! I’ll bet my youth on this! If I can make a name for myself in the Jinling underground during these four years of college, then I can consider my life a success. It’s got to be better than hunting for a job with nothing but a diploma!" Li Qiuzhe said, clenching his fists as if he had finally made up his mind.

What primarily drove him to this decision was the truce meeting from last night. He knew that after what happened, he wouldn’t have to slowly carve out his own territory. With just one call, Baldy would definitely bring his men to follow him. Even the other bosses would have to tread carefully around him! Although he didn’t know what mysterious force was behind all this, it was clearly an opportunity, one that seemed tailor-made for him.

"What do you guys think?" Li Qiuzhe asked, turning to the others.

"I trust Fourth Brother won’t push you into a pit of fire!" Wang Dalu said after a pause.

"I have my reservations. This is a crooked path, after all. But I trust that Fourth Brother understands that, so I also believe he wouldn’t push you into a pit of fire," Zhu Houqing said similarly.

"Brother Ze! From now on, I’m with you!" Surprisingly, Li Yunzhe patted his chest and exclaimed.

"Alright, there’s no need to rush. Nothing is set in stone yet," Qin Fan said with a light laugh, choosing his words carefully. "Boss, tonight, you and Li Yunzhe should go find Baldy for a chat. See if the situation on the streets is something you can really handle. If you feel it’s not feasible, then just lay low and be a good student. As for Second Brother and Third Brother, you two shouldn’t get involved. You’re not the same type of person as Boss."

His words, however, provoked indignation from the other two.

"Fourth Brother, you better explain yourself! How are we not the same type of person as Boss? Are you saying we’re too weak?" Wang Dalu shouted with a laugh.

"You’re not as ferocious as he is," Qin Fan said bluntly after a brief pause.

"Hahaha!"

At his words, both Wang Dalu and Zhu Houqing burst into uncontrollable laughter.

He wasn’t wrong. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that statement!

Just then, the sound of hurried, stumbling footsteps came from outside the door. Qin Fan glanced over. A young man who was clearly a student stood panting at their dorm room door.

"Can I help you?" Qin Fan asked, looking at him quizzically.

"I’m from the Student Council! Qin Fan, are you free right now? Please come with me to the Student Council office. It’s swarming with representatives from all those basketball teams waiting for you!" the student said, out of breath.

Lifting his gaze slightly, Qin Fan said indifferently, "Go back and tell them I’m not interested. They can go back to wherever they came from."

"What? What did you say?" The student, no longer out of breath, stared in disbelief.

"I said, I’m not interested. I don’t want to waste my time. Sorry you had to make the trip for nothing," Qin Fan said, wearing that same harmless-looking smile.

"Do you—do you realize that besides the teams from the CBA, there are also NBA teams? All of them are globally renowned top teams! And you say you’re not interested?" The student still looked frozen, his eyes wide with shock.

"Yes. I’ll say it again: I’m not interested. If there’s nothing else, you can go back and give them my message."

If he had known it would cause such a stir, Qin Fan never would have used such a jaw-droppingly flashy method to humiliate the players from the Alliance Army on the court. He didn’t need to think twice to know the current situation was because someone had recorded the game and spread it online.

Unfortunately, there are no "ifs" in this world. After students from Jinling University recorded the video of his incredible basketball skills and uploaded it, the entire online world exploded—and not just in Huaxia. From East Asia and West Asia to Eastern and Northern Europe, from South America to North America, the video spread like a virus. Therefore, the current situation of being sought after by countless teams was no exaggeration at all.

"You... you’re insane! You’re absolutely insane!" the student from the council exclaimed after a moment of stunned silence, hearing Qin Fan’s repeated refusal.

Paying him no more mind, Qin Fan gave a dismissive wave.

Seeing this, and faced with Qin Fan’s attitude, the student had no choice but to turn and leave.
