Chapter 451 – Getting Called into the Principal’s Office.

"I see, you did well." Shinlua said to Kana as the two discussed what had happened with the worm. "Your skills have greatly improved from that first time you came we met in Omara, and you're shaping up to be a wonderful warrior." She nodded, happy to see her student excelling. "I do wish I was able to accompany you. That may have taken a bit of worry off your sister's shoulders and perhaps even saved Hishya a bit of grief." She said with a wry smile, knowing well that Hishya had likely incurred the Demon's wrath due to her absence.

"I hope Onee-chan doesn't go too far. It's not Hishya's fault that-" Kana replied as Mika floated down from the sky, having only just arrived after finishing healing some of the victims and returning to the estate.

"Everything good?" Kana asked her still pale friend. Mika had held up better than she'd expected, though seeing so many wounded or dead people had clearly taken their toll.

"Yeah, sorry you had to handle the fighting on your own, though." Mika said, embarrassed by her fear and inability to help confront the monster.

"It's fine." Kana shook her head. "It's only natural for you to be afraid of a monster, don't worry about it. It was super easy anyway!"

{If it's only natural, why weren't you afraid of it?!? Oh wait, Demon Princess... Right...} (Mika)

"Hey!" Naomi yelled as she came running out of the house. "Are you two alright?!?" She'd been worried sick since they both left and was overjoyed to seem them both alive.

"Mika was chewed and spit up a few times, but other than being covered in goo, she's good." Kana snickered, avoiding the Magical Girl's blast from her wand.

"Well, that's good to hear." Naomi let out a sigh of relief. Figuring that if they were able to joke around that they were fine. "I was worried what would happen if you said you'd been hurt. Hishya was already in pretty bad shape as it is..."

{She's so pale I think milk is darker than her.} (Naomi)

"Ya know, I was wondering where she was." Kana said. "The suspicious lack of death squeezes as soon as Mika and I got back is pretty strange now that I think about it." She could tell that the Dragon was at the estate, sensing her energy somewhere in the main house.

"S-She's a bit tied up at the moment." Naomi said with a wry smile. “She's uh...”

"Onee-chan?" Kana asked, assuming that her sister had some involvement, to which Naomi nodded. "Did she come back from Enoris?"

{God help her if she came in person.} (Hishya)

"No, she just video-called her." Naomi replied. "I couldn't hear the conversation, but Hishya's facial expression when it was done more or less told me everything I needed to know."

{Onee-chan...} (Kana)

"I'd better go console her... Stress is bad for lizards after all." Kana groaned as she started off toward the house.

"You might want to activate your magic before going on. Hishya's death squeeze might involve a bit more death than usual." Mika said as she released her transformation.

"… That's probably a good idea." Kana said, channeling some magic through her body to reinforce herself against the Dragon's impending squeeze. "You two can wait out here, let me handle Hishya myself."

{Just please don't let her be too broken... Although, putting her back together... No! Bad Kana!} (Kana)

Pushing aside her Akagi-like thoughts and heading into the house, Kana was greeted with the fun sight of a white as a sheep Dragon sitting on the couch, hugging her own legs as she muttered something incomprehensible.

"Greeeeeeaaaaaaaaat..." Kana sighed as she walked over to her girlfriend and put a hand on her shoulder. "Oi, lizard." She said, poking Hishya in the side of the head. "Snap out of it. Please..."

"Oh... Kana..." Hishya said as she slowly turned to Kana, glassy-eyed. "How's it going?"

"I don't know, depends on you." Kana said, patting the Dragon on her head. "Any death squeezes for me?" She said, just barely dodging Hishya's attempt to bring her into one.

{Ah-ha! I knew it!} (Kana)

"Kana!" Hishya wailed as she tackled her girlfriend to the couch. "You're never allowed to leave my site again!" She cried as she rubbed her face in the Demon Princess' chest. "I'll get some rope and tie us together! That way nothing bad can happen to you again!" She said, her eyes turning Yandere

{Oh god...} (Kana)

"There, there." Kana said as she channeled some electricity into her hand before putting it on the Dragon's back and rubbing it. "It's all good now. Kana is here to make it all better."

*ZAP*

"YEEEEEEEEEEOW!" Hishya screamed in pain as she was electrocuted in the spine, shooting off Kana and back to the opposite side of the couch in pain. "What the hell was that for?!?" She hissed.

"Much better." Kana said as she sat up. "You back to normal? Or do you need another zappy-zap?"

"Holy fuck!" Hishya yelled as electricity flickered around her body for a moment. "Did you have to zap me right in the spine?!?"

{That was way too painful! How much power did you put in that?!?} (Hishya)

"I figured it was the best way to reset you." Kana giggled, dodging a pillow that was thrown her way. "And it worked! All back to normal!"

"You're just as bad as your sister..." Hishya sighed, though internally agreeing that it was for the best.

"She who was planning on restraining me to keep me safe." Kana retorted. “I saw the look in your eyes.”

"At this point, I think restraining you might be for the world's safety." Hishya said, blowing a raspberry. "But... Your stupid plan did help... I won't thank you though."

"Love ya too babe." Kana snickered. "What did Onee-chan say to you for you to come rushing back here? And wind up like that?"

"Do you even need to ask?" Hishya deadpanned, figuring that Kana's mind could figure that out for itself.

"No, but I want to know anyway." Kana replied with a terrible grin.

"Sadist..." Hishya sighed. "So basically she chewed me out, told me that I was to get my lizard ass back to Japan, and that I was banned from leaving the country until she sorted the Enoris stuff out."

"Understandable." Kana nodded. "I thought it was a stupid idea for you to leave the country while she was away."

"And you didn't stop me?!?" Hishya exclaimed. "If you'd told me Akagi might be pissed I'd've stayed!"

"I debated it but figured that it best to just leave things alone. There was no guarantee it would turn out to be a problem and I'd rather not set the precedent of me telling you what to do like that." Kana shrugged. "You'll listen to me, but it's not right for me to just bully you down with Onee-chan like that."

"Fair..." Hishya found herself unable to retort since she appreciated Kana's unwillingness to abuse her leverage in such a way. "Still though, maybe give me a heads up on what may or may not result in me getting SCREAMED AT! Your Sister is in an entirely different dimension and yet I was just as terrified as if she was in the same room as me! I thought she was going to reach through that call and kill me!"

{The threats to fucking turn my ass into a sheath for her blade were not fun!} (Hishya)

"I'll talk with Onee-chan later. She shouldn't be doing that." Kana sighed. "Screaming and carrying on isn't necessary."

{Though I'm strangely happy to see her so angry at me being in danger... Hmm...} (Kana)

"Just leave it alone..." Hishya shook her head. "What's done is done and I've got my orders. Keep Kana safe and don't let her get into danger like that again or else." She shuddered as she imagined what the or else would be.

"I'm not going to just sit back and be protected." Kana protested being treated like a liability. "I've got a right to fight as well."

"Yeah, but you're still a squishy Human, Kana." Hishya noted that she was not built like a returnee and was still very new at using her power. "A squish, cute, oh-so-fun to tease Human, but still a Human." She continued. "I agree with Akagi that it's best for one of us to be around to make sure nothing bad happens. We're not going to stop you from fighting but your safety needs to be a priority."

"The worm turned out fine, but I do understand your point." Kana nodded along, agreeing that more dangerous enemies would be a problem. "That's why I've been training to use this power. I don't want to be a burden to you and Onee-chan, same with Mika."

"Yes and on that, congrats!" Hishya smiled as she pulled her into a hug. "Mika shared the video of you fighting and you did awesome!" She squeaked, proud of her girlfriend's battle performance. "The way you ran on that thing before burning it up was really cool! My heart would've been swooning if it wasn't bursting out of my chest in sheer terror."

"Himari was a big help." Kana said, noting that she didn't do it alone.

"Yep! Praise me more!" Himari said, her imaginary chest puffed out in pride. "This is what you get when your partner is a sacred blade! Ain't I the coolest?!?"

"You're pretty neat but you ain't no Divine Blade though." Hishya snickered. "Halifax would've touched that thing and burned it away with just a tap on its back!"

"I'll get there one day!" Himari hissed. "Just you wait! Kana's gonna get so powerful that she'll kick your ass, Dragon!"

"That'll be the day." Hishya said with an eye roll.

"Don't think I can do it?" Kana asked, letting a bit of Scary Kana out.

"Akagi type bullshit power you may have, but I doubt it's enough to defeat me." Hishya shrugged. "But I'm more than willing to test it if you want. I'll fight you one-on-one whenever you want." She winked.

"Oh, I'll take that challenge." Kana smirked. "Just remember that once I'm stronger than you... Well..." She said as she put her lips right against Hishya's ear. "Anything goes." She laughed causing Hishya to shudder.
