Chapter 372: Domain Battle
Chapter 372: Domain Battle
The Realm of Shadow is the latest application of Vivid Dream’s abilities.
Unlike the Bhayangkara Squad, which is completely beyond Moku’s control, the Realm of Shadow can be controlled and utilized by him fully.
As its name suggests, the Realm of Shadow is a domain ability to summon the spirits of legendary warriors in the form of shadows. Because they are just shadows, they do not have their own consciousness and can be fully controlled by Moku.
He refers to them as Shadow Soldiers.
However, Shadow Soldiers have much weaker powers than their originals.
Currently, Moku can only control Shadow Soldiers with 40% of the same abilities as the originals. Beyond that, there is a high likelihood of losing control over them.
When summoning the Bhayangkara Squad, Moku was very fortunate that the legendary fighters did not revolt against him.
They might have teased and mocked Moku, but they did not physically attack him.
If they had, Moku himself does not know whether he could survive a full-force attack from the Bhayangkara Squad or not.
So, instead of summoning fully empowered but uncontrollable legendary fighters, Moku chooses to summon only a portion of their power that he can fully control.
Fifteen shadows emerge around Moku, forming the figures of legendary warriors he knows well.
Gajah Enggon, Aji Pradabasu, Bango Lumayang, Lembang Laut, Riung Samudra, Panji Saprang, Kartika Sinumping, Panjang Sumprit, Jayabaya, Lembu Pulung, Macan Liwung, Mahisa Kingkin, Gajah Geneng, Gagak Bongol, and Risang Panjer.
The fifteen ultimate weapons of Majapahit stand with empty eyes, awaiting orders from Moku.
Unlike Vivid Dream: Bhayangkara Squad, they appear lifeless and devoid of individual character. They truly resemble puppets being controlled.
However, the overwhelming sense of danger surrounding them can still be felt, making Moku’s hair stand on end.
"Is this really only 40% of their power?" Moku doubts his own skill.
But before he can inquire further, Foras’ Domain of Doom: Amalgam of Death is activated.
The world seems shrouded in darkness and dread. A sinister aura permeates the surrounding area, transforming it into a realm of despair and decay.
A chilling mist begins to engulf the terrain, obscuring vision and instilling a sense of foreboding in all who dare to enter. The air becomes heavy with the stench of decay, and the very ground beneath one’s feet seems to wither and crumble.
As far as the eye can see, time itself feels distorted, as if warped by the malevolent forces at play. Shadows dance eerily across the landscape, and whispers of long-forgotten souls echo through the darkness, filling the hearts of the living with dread.
Moku felt his strength sapped and his will to fight drained away by the pervasive aura of death. However, by stirring dragon prana within him, the effect dissipated, though it still left Moku eyeing Foras with a furrowed brow.
If he hadn’t created his own domain, he would have undoubtedly succumbed to despair as he struggled against the suffocating influence of the Amalgam of Death.
However, Vivid Dream was a skill that allowed the Mind Realm to enter the Astral Realm.
Within Vivid Dream, Moku would have power over anything as long as his dragon prana was sufficient.
Therefore, the effects of the mage’s domain would have no impact on him.
However, the purpose of a mage forming a domain was to make all the Mana within the domain submit to them. This way, a mage could do anything within their domain, even alter reality.
So, what Moku needed to worry about was the spell that Foras would cast next.
Demons used curse spells, which consisted of two factions: buffs and debuffs.
At Levels 1, 2, and 3 Mana Core Demons had to touch the target’s body first for the curse to be activated. However, for Mana Core Demons above those levels, they didn’t need to do that.
As long as a condition still unknown to Moku was met, the curse would still affect the target, even from a great distance.
"Are you not switching to Mana God mode?" Moku asked.
Usually, battles between powerful individuals like Moku and Foras began with them transforming into their Mana God forms, or in Moku’s case, donning his armor.
But Foras showed no indication of changing into his Mana God form.
This was Moku’s first encounter with a demon who should have mastery over the Mana God form, so he didn’t know if this case was different with Foras or if all demons simply didn’t have a Mana God form.
"You really like asking questions, don’t you?" smirked Foras.
Moku shook his head, "Forgive me for my curiosity if it bothers you. But the species of demons are very unfamiliar to the inhabitants of the Meer Continent. Until now, I have only encountered demons that cannot communicate and only attack like wild beasts, those which you classify as Mana Demons. Therefore, I have many unanswered questions that arise when encountering a demon like yourself who can communicate."
"Well... I never said I wouldn’t answer your questions. Mana Demons indeed make other Mana Species view demon species very poorly. But we never care about the opinions of the weak.
"Mana God form, as you mentioned, is a way for the weak to pretend to be strong. Every Mana Species you encounter has very weak bodies, even the werebeasts that are boasted about have bodies equivalent to highly mutated animals, very weak in our eyes.
"Because of their weakness, they want to become strong, so they create a spell that can give them strong bodies. That spell, of course, is the Mana God form. With the help of Mana, the weak mimic the bodies of the strong.
"But our species is very different from the other three species. We are born strong! Since the first flow of Mana into our bodies, demons have been in their Mana God form. So, what’s the point for us to change into Mana God form? We are Mana Gods ourselves."
Foras’s voice sounded so thunderous, majestic, and filled with pride for his own species. But Moku neither approved nor blamed Foras’s words.
Moku had never met werebeasts before, so he couldn’t comment on them. But human and elf species indeed had very weak bodies.
Even Level 4 Constellation Mages would never be able to win in a strength competition against a First Evolution Gate Asura. But it was different when mages began to transform into their Mana God forms.
They would have incredibly strong defense, capable of withstanding attacks from Brajadenta Rain. And their physical strength would multiply several times over, enough to rival hobgoblins of the same level.
Moku himself wore the Kekayon Armor not because he wanted to benefit from its effects. In fact, the defense provided by the Kekayon Armor was not stronger than his own skin.
Moku wore the Kekayon Armor because he wanted to pretend to transform into his Mana God form to deceive the mages.
Ah... and also because wearing the Kekayon Armor while shouting "Hensin!" was really cool.
"Okay, I understand," Moku nodded.
"You can use the Mana God form. It wouldn’t be fair if you didn’t fight with all your strength," Foras said.
Moku chuckled at that, "Hehehe, those who born strong aren’t just demon species, you know?" Foras remained silent, only nodding.
Without further ado, Foras clapped his hands together, and Mana around him surged. The air trembled as if the world were on the brink of apocalypse.
Moku prepared himself; he didn’t know what curse spell Foras would use, but attacking first would be unwise.
Unlike the spell faction used by humans or elves, curse spell faction didn’t require a medium for activation. Once the spell was completed, even if Moku hid within the core of the earth, he wouldn’t be able to evade it.
Curse spell faction could only be blocked or withstood but not avoided. This is why powerful mages struggled so much to defeat demon species.
Just as the Mana around Foras surged even more, he chanted his curse, "Palm of Wrath!"
Suddenly, without Moku detecting it, a gigantic palm emerged beneath his feet.
The giant palm pulsated with an intense red glow, indicating the immense power contained within.
Moku tried to leap away, but his body seemed stuck to the giant palm. Despite exerting all his strength and dragon prana, he couldn’t break free from it.
Eventually, Moku understood that this giant palm was the manifestation of Foras’s curse spell.
Moku then ordered all his Shadow Soldiers to attack Foras from all sides. But before they could get close, Moku suddenly felt a tremendous upheaval from within his body.
Suddenly, he felt the amount of dragon prana he used to control the Shadow Soldiers increase exponentially. It kept increasing until now every Shadow Soldier required one-tenth of his dragon prana to control them.
In the end, Moku had to reduce the strength of the Shadow Soldiers to only 10%. After he did that, the giant palm beneath his feet disappeared.
Moku quickly leaped away from where he stood before.
However, the use of dragon prana to control the Shadow Soldiers remained the same.
Feeling this, Moku understood a little of the effect of Foras’s curse spell.
"Tch!"
