Chapter 244 - 183: Battle Against Lu Guangjing, Who Is Supreme? I Am Supreme
BOOM!
Above the Pearl White Sand Islands, thunderclouds slowly gathered.
Clearly, someone’s Cultivation had reached a bottleneck, and they were preparing to face a tribulation.
"To think Prince Jin has cultivated the Power of the Eighth Transformation without even passing his Thunder Tribulation. It looks like he’s about to step into the Ninth Realm of the Golden Core, and a Nine Revolutions Golden Core at that—something seen only once in a millennium."
The Human Race Qi Cultivators on the Pearl White Sand Islands all saw the thunderclouds above Lu Guangjing’s head and remarked with awe.
There were many Golden Core Cultivators among them, so they naturally understood the value of a Nine Revolutions Golden Core.
The Golden Core has three tribulations: the Four-Nine Tribulation, the Eight-Nine Tribulation, and the Life-or-Death Tribulation. Each is more perilous than the last.
The final Life-or-Death Tribulation was especially dangerous, with a mortality rate of over fifty percent. Without a sufficiently deep foundation, who would dare attempt it?
However, compared to a Martial Artist’s Dragon Tribulation, the survival rate was actually quite high.
As long as Lu Guangjing could pass the Thunder Tribulation and form his Nine Revolutions Golden Core, it would mean breaking his final shackles. His future potential would allow him to become a member of the Twelfth Realm.
A prodigy with a Nine Revolutions Golden Core was destined for the Twelfth Realm at a minimum.
Everyone in this land was filled with envy. They felt Lu Guangjing was incredibly fortunate, his talent high enough to be on the verge of forming a Nine Revolutions Golden Core. A long life was all but guaranteed, and attaining the Great Dao was within his grasp.
"I command you to activate the Teleportation Array at once. No delays."
Sui Yuqing said coolly, "Prince Jin, you’re not unaware of the current situation. The Human Race Cultivators who are distracting the Demon Race army haven’t all gathered yet. They’re still out there, their fates unknown. Don’t you think you’re being a bit too selfish?"
"Can’t you see I’m about to face my tribulation?"
Lu Guangjing snorted. "What could possibly be more important than me breaking through to the Ninth Realm?"
Sui Yuqing remained unmoved. In truth, there were no Human Race Cultivators distracting the Demon Race. She just didn’t want Prince Jin and his subordinates to leave this place of trouble. She never expected him to come looking for her on his own initiative.
She knew exactly what kind of scum his subordinates were.
In fact, the entire crisis facing the Human Race was his doing. How could she possibly let Lu Guangjing leave?
Outside, she might have been wary of his status as a Prince, but in this Grotto Heaven, strength was everything.
"I am now ordering you, in my capacity as Prince Jin, to activate the Teleportation Array!"
Seeing Elder Du, a Tributor from the Endless Pavilion, being beaten so badly by the Purple Lightning Bat Lord that he was coughing up blood, Lu Guangjing grew even more furious and snapped at Sui Yuqing.
He even took out the Jade Seal of Prince Jin’s Mansion, clearly trying to intimidate her with his status.
Just as Sui Yuqing was struggling to make a decision...
...a familiar male voice she never expected to hear suddenly echoed in her ears.
"Let him go."
Sui Yuqing’s expression went blank for a moment.
’Wait...’
’This voice...’
’Is that Prince Huai’an?’
’It sounds just like Lu Mingyuan’s voice.’
"Why?"
Sui Yuqing’s expression quickly returned to normal as she sent her thoughts back.
"I have my own way of dealing with him. Just let him leave alone. His subordinates, however, should stay here."
Sui Yuqing seemed to have guessed what Lu Mingyuan was planning.
’Just as I thought.’
’His Highness’s background is as unfathomably deep as I imagined.’
’This technique of sending one’s voice over thousands of miles alone is not something an ordinary Middle Fifth Grade Cultivator can do.’
’Could it be that everything is under Prince Huai’an’s control?’
"The situation is indeed urgent right now. If Prince Jin wishes to leave, there is only one way."
"What way?"
Lu Guangjing frowned when he heard Sui Yuqing change her tune, and asked.
"Your Highness may leave, but only alone. Your other subordinates must stay behind to cover the Human Race Cultivators who haven’t yet reached the Teleportation Array."
Hearing this, Lu Guangjing narrowed his eyes. "Aren’t you going a little too far, Fairy?"
Sui Yuqing retorted without a change in expression, "I hope Your Highness understands the duty of the Thunder Pool Daoist Academy. Every moment we delay here is another moment of safety for those at the Great Wilderness Tomb Canyon."
Lu Guangjing glanced at his many Tributors from the Endless Pavilion, a hesitant look in his eyes.
They were his people, a guarantee of his power. He couldn’t afford to lose too many of them.
But compared to them, his own life was obviously more important.
He looked at Sui Yuqing and said coolly, "You must also lend a hand. You can’t just stand by and watch. Otherwise, I will petition the Cabinet and have my father, the Emperor, sanction the Thunder Pool Daoist Academy."
Sui Yuqing nodded in agreement.
"No problem."
Lu Guangjing turned around, his lips moving slightly as he gave an order to his Tributors. Then, he turned his cold gaze back to Sui Yuqing.
"Is that acceptable? Open the array."
’This Fairy Ci Hang... for her to target me like this, something must be up.’
’Once I’m out of danger, I’ll deal with her.’
"Very well. It will be as Your Highness says."
"Activate the Teleportation Array!"
Sui Yuqing ordered the many Qi Cultivators at her side.
RUMBLE!
Amidst the rumbling, the golden Grand Array began to operate.
Lu Guangjing stood within the Grand Array, looking at the island where he had suffered such a setback. A grim look flashed in his eyes.
This crisis made him smell the scent of conspiracy.
Years of experience had given Lu Guangjing an uncanny intuition for anything that felt wrong.
If he found out who was plotting against him, he would make sure they died a horrible death.
SWOOSH!
Golden Light flared.
Lu Guangjing left the Pearl White Sand Islands, taking many of the wounded with him.
After a dizzying whirl...
When Lu Guangjing opened his eyes again, he found himself in a strange place. Swamps stretched in every direction, exuding a sinister aura.
It looked nothing like the Great Wilderness Tomb Canyon the Thunder Pool Daoist Academy had described, which was supposed to be covered in vast marshes and mountain forests.
At the same time, the wounded Qi Cultivators from the Daoist Academy who had left with him were nowhere to be seen.
"Damn it, I’ve been set up!"
Lu Guangjing’s expression was grim. He had a faint idea of what had happened.
He was certain he had been tricked by the people from the Daoist Academy.
As for the reason, he had no clue yet.
BOOM!
At that moment, the Thunder Tribulation was ready.
No matter what, he had to first pass the Thunder Tribulation and break through to the Ninth Realm.
Soon, he found a clearing in the swampy forest. After confirming it was concealed, he was about to sit down and meditate.
But then, on a treetop not far away, Lu Guangjing saw the figure of a young man wearing a demonic mask, his hand resting on a black long saber. He had been waiting there for him all along.
"Are you from the Thunder Pool Daoist Academy?"
Lu Guangjing asked warily.
The young man did not reply, seeming to have no intention of talking.
The young man slowly floated up from the branch. All over his body, more than ten thousand Acupoints opened completely, emitting a brilliant light, as if he held a starry sky within him.
An immense Blood Qi erupted from him.
He trod upon a long bridge of Blood Qi, walking to a position directly above Lu Guangjing. He exuded a majestic momentum, as if he could control the entire world.
Lu Guangjing found himself trapped. Facing such a formidable enemy, he knew escape was likely impossible.
Lu Guangjing was at the critical moment of his Realm breakthrough. The Taoist Qi throughout his body was circulating rapidly, and a constant rumbling echoed from within his Qi Sea.
However, he was always just a little bit short, finding it difficult to break through the final barrier.
The young man stood with his hand on his saber. A moment later, he vanished from the treetop.
Lu Guangjing’s pupils shrank.
He saw a flash of lightning flicker in his vision and disappear.
"Die."
The man’s voice was remarkably calm, yet in the next instant, his aura became razor-sharp. He transformed into a stream of violet-blue light, descending from the sky and striking down with his palm toward the top of Lu Guangjing’s head.
Lu Guangjing gritted his teeth as wisps of blood-red Taoist Qi poured from his pores, enveloping his entire body. He first deployed the "Mountain" Hand Seal.
It collided with the young man’s Palm Power.
BANG.
The "Mountain" Hand Seal that Lu Guangjing unleashed was immensely powerful, but the young man’s physical strength was also unparalleled. The ground for ten zhang in every direction around Lu Guangjing—except for the spot where he stood—caved in, leaving a massive crater.
But the young man still had the upper hand. He slashed down with his saber.
The Hand Seal sank deep into the earth, driving Lu Guangjing into the ground along with it.
From the surface, all that remained was a massive, black, hand-shaped crater.
Who knew how deep it was?
Lu Guangjing’s internal organs were severely damaged, and he coughed up blood unceasingly. He was completely outmatched.
Even an ordinary Ninth Realm expert shouldn’t have been able to suppress him so completely.
The "Mountain" Hand Seal was a Confucian Treasure specially refined for him by his teacher. It could drastically increase his power and also served as a life-saving trump card. To think it couldn’t even last for a single breath!
"I will not die!"
Lu Guangjing roared. A massive amount of Taoist Qi surged into his Qi Sea, and his pupils transformed into two crimson fireballs.
BOOM!
In that instant, a bolt of lightning struck down.
Lu Guangjing’s body was immediately suffused with the might of a Golden Core. Evidently, forced by the first bolt of Celestial Thunder, he had been temporarily elevated to the level of the Half-step Ninth Realm.
"So what if you’re in the Ninth Realm? I’ll show you the power of Confucian and Daoist Dual Cultivation."
Lu Guangjing flew out of the crater. His Python Robe was mostly shredded, his hair was disheveled, and his noble, elegant air was gone. His eyes were blood-red, and he spat out a mouthful of bloody foam. In his left hand, he held a Confucian Daoist Engraving Knife; in his right, a Flying Sword marked with a Dan Fire Pattern.
He roared, "Blood Flood Dragon Dao Transformation!"
Instantly, a bloody mist enveloped him, and his entire being began to transform.
The phantom of a blood-red Flood Dragon appeared on the sword’s blade before burrowing into Lu Guangjing’s body.
Black stripes appeared on his handsome face, and his dark hair turned blood-red, cascading down like a waterfall.
He floated into the air as red Literary Qi and Taoist Qi intertwined, gathering into threads of Flood Dragon Power and causing Lu Guangjing’s aura to surge dramatically.
Behind him, a Golden Core as brilliant as the sun slowly rose.
Seeing this, the young man silently chanted in his heart.
"Dragon Transformation."
Suddenly, a Divine Flame blossomed on his glabella.
The Divine Fire Pattern hidden between his brows emerged. Thunder Patterns appeared on his chest, neck, and face. His hair, affected by the Thunder Power, all stood on end and turned white.
Six hovering Winged Long Sabers appeared behind him.
Arcs of electricity flowed over his skin.
Intricate Taotie Patterns appeared on the skin of his arms, along with new Qilin Patterns.
"So it was you! You must be quite proud of yourself for foiling my plans, but now, I’m going to kill you!"
Lu Guangjing stabilized himself and slowly descended to the ground, his voice like ice.
The young man stood opposite Lu Guangjing, his gaze as calm as still water. Resting his hand on his saber, he said:
"Come on, then. Let’s see who lives and who dies."
