Chapter 983: Another Vampire King

"This is interesting. Even the monsters have become smarter after playing it many times. Some of them even good enough to be a captain of an army of few if we need to," Kayla said.

"That’s a quick judgment from you. Do you think they can do it?" I asked.

"I don’t know them as much as you do. But I know at least if it’s a war, they can do it. You have sent them to help some people during the time I was in the Spirit Mountain, right? What do you think?" Kayla asked me.

"There was less injury even when the enemies were master level mages. Not only that, they also finished their fight sooner than expected," I said.

"Then it’s good enough, right?"

It’s the day after we arranged elite groups to travel the Monsters World. Though they still stayed in the village because they haven’t found the monsters that they want to pick to go with them in their journey.

We have just finished playing tag today. Even those mages from the groups joined.

And even though it was Kayla’s first time playing, she understood the rules right away and could even stay as long as she could and ended up being one of the last ten people to get eliminated.

By the way, for the winner, it was a close match between Cooldra and Tiger, the leader of the weretigers that I was too lazy to name. And the winner was Tiger. Though if Cooldra moved his claws a bit more, he would have eliminated Tiger first.

I looked at Kayla who was still thinking about the game. She’s thinking of what use we can do for it.

"What about Sunglasses? Has he played it before?" Kayla asked me.

"He has played it several times. He said that he can think of more plan to use the monsters for in battle in the future. Though after playing a few times, he then only stayed to be observers to watch what everyone can do. Now, I only brought him here at least once a week," I said.

I heard that he even experimented on the game with children somewhere. Not only it will be helpful for the children’s growth, they will also have experience in playing the game that helped many people and monsters to get stronger. So in the future when they grew up and joined the army, they knew a thing or two about strategy during battle.

Though I don’t like how we have to rely on those children in the future. Like usual, I wish that the children won’t have anything to do with the war. I really wish that we can destroy the cult before the children grew up.

I looked at the mages who will travel this world. They were taking notes of who is a good choice and what they can do.

And after exchanging their opinions with each other, one of them approached me.

"Mr. Roy, can we ask you to bring these monsters to us? We’d like to get to know them better. And we want to bring them to survey around the area and hunt monsters to see our chemistry," he asked.

"I see. So you want to test your compatibility with them right away today. Sure, that’s fine. But it’s best if you’re the one making a contact with the monsters yourself instead of asking me to do that. Then you will know them better. Because if I’m the one asking them, they will do what I told them to do. But if it’s you, if they don’t think much of you and will still do it even if they’re reluctant, you can tell right away. They might be monsters, but they’re as smart as humans. Ask a monster as an individual instead of a species of monster," I said.

"Alright, I understand," he replied.

The monsters have gotten used to me. And a lot of them have their own personality. So it’s like watching a group of humans. In the end, it’s just a group of different individuals.

"Ah, but don’t ask someone’s familiars to go with you. Especially mine," I reminded the guy before he left.

He then goes to where the other mages were and told them what I said. I think rather than discussing who to take, each person decided to find a monster that they feel like they can get along with.

That’s even better. Rather than looking at their power and skill, it’s best to find someone you can be friend with. Then you won’t get bored in the mission that will take probably years to finish.

"Since we’re done here, let’s go home," I said to Kayla and the others.

"Wait!"

Before we returned home, Arin, the Vampire Queen, stopped us.

"Please take us with you. We enjoyed living in this village. But we missed Earth. We will also return home," Arin said.

Behind her are the other vampires. Seems like they’re tired staying here all the time. And maybe it’s because monster’s blood doesn’t taste as good as human’s blood.

"Sure. Let’s go."

As soon as we returned back to Cassau, the vampires decided to move on their own. I guess they missed this world that much.

Some of them were hunters specialized in taking down bandits. And some were guards in another city. I guess if they have stable job, they can’t be absent for a long time.

Doing those jobs allow them to drink human’s blood as much as they want. Though my blood is still more delicious than any blood they ever drink. Should I be proud of it?

As for Arin, she doesn’t work. She just enjoyed herself shopping and does other things like most human female do. And I had to pay for her everything.

Unlike the other vampires who work to get their own money, I had to do it to Arin since she’s the Queen. If she one day decided to leave because I didn’t treat her well, then the other vampires will follow her. So I had to spoil her.

During the day, she would go shopping. At night, she would enjoy the stars by watching them from the roof or go to the top of a mountain by herself.

And this morning, the day after I brought the vampires back to Cassau from the village, she entered my room without even knocking. While Sophie was sleeping next to me and we’re both naked.

"Hmm? Arin, don’t do that. You have to knock before you enter," I said.

"I found something important to tell you," she said seriously.

If she said it like that, I guess it’s really important.

I covered myself with Blobbies as I get out of the bed and started to get dressed in front of her. Since I’m wearing Blobbipants, I’m not embarrassed.

I might have looked at girls through their clothes. But I will still feel embarrassed if someone sees me naked. Well, a bit.

"What is it?" I asked.

"While I was enjoying the moon from the lake, I sensed something familiar. A trace of a Vampire King or Queen, I don’t know. But it’s one of them at least," Arin said.

Another Vampire King? That seems interesting. But also suspicious at the same time.

There have been no reports of any suspicious activities in Cassau. But if it’s outside of Cassau, then we don’t really know. Maybe there are monsters who were the cult’s summoner’s familiars suddenly appeared nearby.

"That could be dangerous. I’ll ask Albert about it first," I said as I grabbed my phone.

I contacted Albert who then told other kings. Then soon after, he called me back.

"I don’t think we need to improve the security in Cassau any more than this, but I told the people there to do it anyway. As for what you need to do with the information of a new Vampire King, I will let you take care of it on your own. Can you do it?" Albert asked.

"It’s just Vampire King. Back then, I might have some problem defeating one. But now, it’s no longer a problem even if I face one. Though for this, I will let Arin take care of it by herself," I said.

By now, Sophie is already awake. Since it was just Arin, she doesn’t mind being seen by her and get dressed soon after waking up.

"You’re going somewhere?" Sophie asked.

"Not me. But Arin is. Arin, you heard what I said, right? Can you find that Vampire King or Queen and see what their intention in coming here? You can bring the other vampires with you," I said.

Then the door opened again. And this time, it’s a slime in the form of a woman entered the room.

"I heard what happened! I will go with her so I can inform you the situation in real time!" Victoria said as she transformed into a small slime and attached herself to Arin’s shoulder.

"Well, that’s that. If something happened, Victoria will tell me right away and I will be there as soon as possible. I’ll leave it to you," I said to Arin.

"Alright. I’ll find out what they’re after as soon as possible," she said before she left to where the other vampires were.

Since she found the trace of a Vampire King or Queen, it means the other party should have found Arin’s trace in Cassau as well. That’s why it’s best to let her take care of it.

I hope it’s nothing. Though it’s better if we have another vampire as strong as Arin to join us.
