Chapter 1190: Causing Destruction in the Other Continent

I destroyed many things in this other continent after we built the base in the snowy mountain.

With how difficult for anyone to go there, we could expand the base as much as we want and no one will ever know. And whenever we want to destroy anything related to the cult, we would use portal first to go somewhere so the cult can’t find any connection between us and the base in the snowy mountain.

Thanks to Mai, we now have another person who is willing to help us with finding out if someone speaks the truth or not. It’s not like I can go everywhere with a centaur.

After a few days of getting closer to Albert and the others, Mai decided to use her power to help us. It’s great since Albert can’t really move around freely. And no one knows that Mai is related to Albert and I.

But it’s not like she will move right away. For safety reason, we will let Mai to move only when she reaches master level in her magic element.

Not just her. But Helga too.

Since Mai considers Helga as her sister, Albert also considered her as our sister. And Helga still doesn’t want to be separated from Mai so she’s going to train to be a master level mage as well.

From what I heard, it seems like Helga is more talented in magic than Mai. She will be able to reach master level before Mai could.

As for Mai’s memory, I asked the Spirit King to read it with Mai’s permission. Though she’s too shy to show us after I told her what will happen. Well, that’s normal.

So other than the Spirit King, only Shirley, Marie, and few other girls including Victoria could see her past. Then they unformed us about it.

Unfortunately, Mai never met her real father. The former King of Tatrama. Because she was born while her mother was boarding a ship. The ship got caught in the storm and it seems that everyone dies. Fortunately for her, the baby Mai got carried by the waves to the beach where she met Helga’s parents.

That’s her past that she never knew. Though now we know her mother’s face. Albert made sure to search for that woman just in case she’s still alive.

The ship she was born in was a refugee ship trying to escape from Arturo. Not because of what Harold did. But because one of the nobles there who did something bad. So Mai’s mother tried to escape to the other continent.

Well, if she’s alive, I hope she can meet Mai.

Anyway, my business is to destroy anything related to the cult. And tonight is the ninth city I will destroy.

After getting as much information as possible about this city, I learned that most of the people here are believer of the Evil God. So I don’t have any trouble killing everyone. Though I will still at least spare the children. And it’s not like I really killed everyone. I don’t have enough time for that.

I mainly only kill those who are strong and have high status in the city. For civilians, as long as they don’t block my way, I won’t have to kill them.

And again, another city fell.

As soon as I killed the governor of this city, I got a call from Lynn.

"Roy. There are multiple attacks in Consenza. Possibly from the cult. Please take care of them," Lynn said on the phone.

Obviously, Consenza has a lot of master level mages now. But the fact that she called for me can only mean that there are way too many attacks that there’s not enough soldier to protect the country.

So I brought some people who are free to Consenza.

"Where is the place that needs security the most?" I asked Claudia.

Claudia then showed me a map and pointed at where I need to go. There are three locations.

"All you need to do is just to make the soldiers have easier time protecting the city. Once you do, move to the other place. Or maybe you can just send some monsters after arriving and move to the other city right away," Claudia suggested.

And that’s what I did. Getting monsters to help protect Consenza.

Obviously, Shelia and the werewolves were the happiest.

Not only did they just destroy a city with me, they got to kill more people.

Still, even after attacking several cities, there’s no sign of the Evil God anywhere.

"What do you think? Will they appear if I continue destroying cities?" I asked Claudia.

"Only if they are there in that continent. If the real base is in Monsters World, no matter how much you destroyed everything in the other continent, the Evil God will not appear," she replied.

I expected that as well. But for the scouts we sent to Monsters World, even though we heard reports of several human bases they discovered, none of them seem important enough for the cult.

Though I did destroy them and killed everyone there.

"How about you take a rest for a while? And I’m sure the training for Mai is hard. Why don’t you invite Mai and Helga and introduce them to the cultures we have in this continent? I’m sure they will be interested," Claudia said.

"I guess I should do that."

But right after I decide what I want to do next, I got a call. This time, it’s from Yuria. The President of a small country.

"We are under attack. And probably some other cities in Tatrama near us as well. Please come and bring reinforcement," she said.

The voice coming out from my phone was loud enough for Claudia to hear.

"I guess your next move has been decided. You have sent your monsters to Consenza. That country is a small one. You alone should be enough. If not, just bring some monsters with you," Claudia said.

"Alright. Contact me if you find anything or need help," I said.

"...I’ve been here all this time and I was the one who called you. But you keep ignoring me!"

Oh, is that Lynn’s voice? Oh, right. This is her office.

Well, it doesn’t matter. I’m busy.

In there, this small country, I met someone for the first time.

"Idiot. That’s Emilia. Patricia’s granddaughter who is also a master level mage," Victoria said.

Now I remember. Patricia is a grandma. And her granddaughter was arrested because she was related with the cult.

"...Why aren’t you dead or in prison?" I asked Emilia.

Fearfully, she replied to my question.

"...I surrender and now I am completely dedicating my life to fight against the cult. You can ask your king about it. I didn’t tell a lie," she said.

Well, if Albert has decided, then it’s fine.

I guess she was interrogated by Albert and now has given up after her difficult life in prison. Well, if it’s difficult. I don’t know how anyone lives in prison. I especially don’t want to know about life in prison in Mellian.

Anyway, she’s free again now. Well, maybe Patricia will keep watch on her so she’s not really free. But at least she won’t be stronger than Patricia and won’t be able to do much now even in this small country. Because now, even this small country has dozens of master level mages.

"You already have a lot of master level mages. Are they not enough?" I asked Yuria as I no longer have any interest in Emilia.

I already sent the werewolves and weretigers to Consenza. Since Rygis country has a lot of forest, maybe I should pick the elves or the centaurs.

"Are there a lot of wind mages?" I asked.

"No. I don’t see anyone flying," Patricia replied.

"Then I’ll bring the centaurs here to help."

After opening a portal for the centaurs to come, I told the centaurs what happened and they quickly move to fight the enemies. As for me, I’m just looking around to find if there’s anyone who needs any help.

After that, I received more calls about more attacks. Seems like the cult is trying to be more active this time. Maybe it’s because I have destroyed many cities in the other continent.

I kept moving around to other places. Sometimes, even the same place twice. It’s because the cult has a lot of members.

"I thought that we already killed a lot of them. But they still have this many people?" I asked myself.

"Just shows how long they have been around. With so many of them, even if you kill the Evil God, the cult won’t disappear right away," Victoria said.

"Then we need to kill even more people," I said.

How much longer do I have to fight? Decades?

Well, it doesn’t matter. As long as I’m not dead, I will continue fighting.

...Maybe when it has become more peaceful, I will agree to get married and have kids even if we haven’t killed the Evil God. That should make the girls happy.
