Chapter 1119: Leaving the City
’It’s been three days, Roy. How’s it going?’
’There’s too many of them. It feels like the numbers of people here haven’t been reduced at all.’
I’m spending the time resting while chatting with Victoria via telepathy. I asked her the situation over there and she asked me about the situation here.
I managed to destroy several more facilities. But ever since then, it became harder to enter the facilities. The researchers inside never returned to the facilities. Probably they were told to not leave their house since I will attack again. So I can’t really find anyone to bring so someone can interrogate them.
They placed even more mages to protect the empty facilities now. It’s not hard to enter them. But it will be too tiring since I still need to stay here for a few more days.
Once a week passed since I came here, I will leave. Then with the Blobbies I placed all over the city, I can come here whenever I want.
But I can’t just place the Blobbies in the city. I need to place some outside of the city as well. Far from the city so that no one will notice it when I open a portal to come here.
’I have placed several Blobbies in the city. Can you feel them?’ I asked Victoria.
’Hmm... I can feel my clones’ presences from quite a bit distance from you. They have been there since the first day. I guess you did it. Will you return now?’ Victoria asked.
’Not now. I’ll stay here a bit longer and place some Blobbies away from this city. After a few days passed without anyone noticing those Blobbies, I will return,’ I said.
’Good. Shirley has become even more frustrated thinking that you’re in danger. Come back as soon as possible,’ Victoria said.
Shirley. The Princess of Tatrama and also my half-sister. I feel like her affection toward the younger brother she just found is too heavy. But it feels great to have a family who loves me.
I felt a bit guilty for coming here without telling her at all. I guess the fact that I learned that I already have a family also changes me a bit. If it’s the me in the past, I won’t feel guilty at all and will spout whatever reasons why I have to do it.
...I still do that though. It’s just that I felt guiltier now.
Though I might have found where most mages of the cult are living, I haven’t found where the main base really is. Maybe the Evil God is still moving around from one place to another on Earth. Or maybe he’s doing it now in this world.
’Well, I’m leaving now. I have never left this city after entering here. So I’m thinking of doing that now. I need to be careful so that no one will notice me. I’ll contact you again later. If there’s any emergency happening over there, call me right away.’
With that, I end the communication with Victoria and prepare to leave the city. But how do I leave without getting discovered?
After all the troubles I have caused, the security in the city is increased even more. And leaving the city is hard because no one is doing that.
Does it mean that there’s no other base nearby? Is that why the people here didn’t bother trying to leave? Because this place is still the Monsters World where dangerous monsters are roaming around in the wild everywhere?
Maybe the guards are blocking the way out of the city because they believe that the Aura user is always hiding in the city instead of leaving using portal. This way, those who left without permission will be caught to be the Aura user.
I can’t also walk around near the border of the city. Because just doing that is suspicious already. Some people were actually caught just because they were looking outside the city.
But since I can use Divine Vision, I don’t need to stay too close to the border or directly looking outside of the city.
I managed to find some places where the security is weak. I can leave through there if I want to. But looking with Divine Vision even more, I realized that those are traps prepared for me. They are ready to ambush me or anyone who leaves through the opening.
And there are also many master level earth mages hiding underground. Once I step my foot outside the city, I will be caught.
Then it’s simple. I can just leave with brute force then I won’t return for a day or two. Then I will stay in the city for a while again until I need to retreat.
And now that I have planned everything, I put on my magic armor again.
This time, I have rested for over eight hours. But not everyone is letting their guards down. Just not many of them.
Looking outside, there’s no one watching. So I jump from the building I’m hiding in to the next building where I already emptied. Then I started killing people one by one in their own rooms.
I’m not hiding myself. It’s just that I need another method that no one will expect me to do. So unlike before where I’m out in the open killing everyone, I’m just killing the cult members in this building one by one. I will only start killing people in the open once someone noticed.
But after the entire building was cleared, there’s still no one who noticed. So I entered the next building.
Halfway through the second building, someone finally noticed something wrong and is flying here. So as soon as he found me, I jump from the window and kill him in the air. But he managed to scream before he died. Gaining everyone’s attention. Everyone who is already tired because they can’t rest well after three days of attack.
"He’s here again. Fuck!"
"Let me sleep you shithead!"
Not many people could get a good rest after I came here. They never knew when I will attack and when I will stop attacking. They just can’t rest.
Which helped me a lot since I can have easier time killing them. But there are still too many of them!
In one attack, I could only kill what? A few hundreds mages at most. And there are over a million people living here. Killing them all is not something I can do in a short time. If it’s a few months, then I should be able to do it. But the sooner we defeat them all, the better it is.
Kill, kill, and kill. My life is filled with just killing these past three days. If it’s not because of the fact that I can chat with Victoria when I have free time, I might have gone crazy already.
I don’t know if there are still space mages here or not. After the second day here, no one is suddenly blocking my path again. Though there are still some fighters with Etherstone weapons. But without space mage helping them, it will be hard for them to challenge me if they are not wind mages who can fly.
I destroyed some more buildings before attempting to leave the city. And from there, the problem is just the enemies who are chasing me since there shouldn’t be anyone else outside to where I’m going.
So this means that it will be the first time that the enemies will only be coming from behind me. There’s no enemy coming from my left, right, or from the front.
So I use my hit and run strategy. While checking the surrounding as I placed some Blobbies on a rock, a tree, or just anywhere, I stop running once in a while to kill those who are closer to me. Chasing me from behind.
After killing some, I run again.
My direction is the desert a few kilometers ahead. I haven’t seen the desert yet from the city. But one of the rooms I rested in the city was owned by someone who had a map. I killed him though. So I can tell that this way is the way to the desert.
But I didn’t just run straight. I made it so that they can’t predict where I’m going.
Each time I stopped, I would wait until I was almost got myself surrounded by the enemies before running away again. I think I killed more people like this than the usual way.
After one hour of chasing me, they finally gave up after I ran long enough. So I think that this is a good place to go using portals instead of from the desert. But just in case, after placing some Blobbies here, I will go to the desert and hide some Blobbies there.
After two hours of marking the places with Blobbies and resting, I return to the city and cause another trouble there.
Oh, it’s not over yet you crazy believers of the Evil God. It will never be over until every single one of you dies.
