Chapter 1050: Maya’s First Lesson

It’s finally the day for me to start training Maya. And I’m waiting for her in Fabio’s office with Jewel, my first disciple.

She doesn’t have any element that is the same as what Maya has. She’s here to oversee the training because she’s my first disciple. She doesn’t want her junior to look down on her just because she has different element.

Though what did I train Jewel again? It’s mostly mindset. And I gave her some simple exercise so she can train every day.

I taught her many things that I know. As for magic, it was mostly not me who taught her. But I did tell her about magic control.

For some reason, she took pride in the fact that she’s my disciple. I guess she’s a bit jealous now that she has a junior who has the exact same elements as I have.

She wants to show her superiority as Maya’s senior. And I don’t mind it.

I don’t think she will be actively participating the war in the frontline anyway. She will be with Fabio.

Fabio is already a master level mage. His fire magic is strong. And with Maya by his side, in case things go wrong, they can use portal and move to safety.

So I’m waiting for Maya right now. But I don’t feel good.

Because in the past two days, there were many things happened to me. Including what happened in the guild.

Now the guild is in chaos. And there are few hunters going there. It should be soon that a new Guild Master will be appointed. Maybe an agent from Arturo.

After what happened, the guild sent some people to apologize to me. But I avoided them.

Since I didn’t stay at any inn in Arturo, they can never find me. Though if they really want to find me, they can ask Fabio. But I doubt they dare to do it.

Because of that, my plan for going around the capital of Arturo and conquer every café and restaurant failed. And I just did nothing other than daily exercise.

This time, I won’t be in Arturo for much longer. I’ll just train Maya in Monsters World. After I ask her what her familiar is.

"Oh, she’s here. With her parents again. And another man who is a bit older than her," I said.

"That should be her brother. The one who will inherited his father to be the next Duke. I’m sorry to say this, but she was quite sheltered girl. And all her family members spoiled her a lot. Including her brother. So you might have a little... obstruction if you want to take Maya as your disciple," Fabio said.

"What is it that can obstruct me? A man with sister complex?" I asked.

"That’s why I said a little. Someone should be guiding them here now. They’re my future in-laws, so I should stop working and greet them." Fabio said as he put down his pen.

Jewel also ready to greet her junior. They met before and talked a bit. I guess she already befriended Maya.

The four of them entered Fabio’s office. Fabio then stood from his chair and greeted them. Jewel also did the same. But I didn’t. I’m still in a bad mood after the guild is looking for me.

"Roy, he is... I guess you won’t remember his name anytime soon," Fabio said.

"So you’re the one who will be my sister’s master, huh? So rude. Do you know who the people in front of you are?" he asked in a threatening manner.

"If I tell Fabio that I will never come here ever again, he will be the one begging for me. In case you don’t know, my position is higher than Fabio who is a King. I’m in a bad mood so I don’t want to talk about this anymore," I said to the guy.

"Fabio, this guy is rude," I said casually.

Only now the guy realized that he made a huge mistake. He apologized soon after. But that’s not all he did.

"I’m sorry. Still, I can’t trust someone who is weaker than me to be my sister’s master. Fight me!" he said.

"I refuse. Being her master is my decision and your sister’s decision. Unrelated party shouldn’t get involved. Just how little have you heard about the previous meeting?" I asked his parents.

"Well, I told him everything I understand. But he just love his sister way too much," the Duke said.

"Even I had some trouble when I tried to court her. He has a huge sister complex," Fabio said.

This guy is a pain! Let’s just ignore him.

"I’ll ignore him from now on. Maya, I haven’t heard about your familiar. What is your familiar?" I asked Maya.

The guy tried to complain. But his voice can’t be heard. It’s because I created an air barrier around his head.

He can still breathe normally. But his voice can’t leak outside the barrier. Though our voice can still reach him.

Maya was shocked. And a bit happy to see that. I guess her brother is quite annoying to her.

"Soon after I awakened my element, someone tried to kidnap me. I had a monster back then. But my monster was killed by the kidnapper. My monster stalled for enough time until people came to help me. Since then, my family became overprotective. And I also didn’t bother to get another familiar," Maya said.

I see. That’s why her brother is being so overprotective.

But a kidnapping attempt? I looked at Fabio.

"As you guessed, it’s related to them. But we have taken care of those who were there," Fabio said.

So the kidnapper was indeed from the cult. They are looking for anyone with summoning element after all.

And I’m curious again. Why did no one ever tried to kidnap me? That was weird, right?

"So you don’t have any familiar right now. That means you can make a contract with a monster, right?" I asked Maya.

"That is the case indeed," she replied.

I guess the training starts now.

"Beginner level summoner and air mage. Even after a few years since you awakened your element. I guess you really live a sheltered life," I said.

"..."

Maya didn’t say anything. I guess she was embarrassed by that fact.

"I didn’t mean anything by that. You know summoners, right? The way summoners fight are by using their monsters. While the summoners don’t need to do anything. In the future, it’s fine if you just stay behind and let your familiars do everything else for you. But for the training, you will encounter hardships. Are you ready?" I asked.

"I’m ready. Being the future Queen means that I will be a huge target by the enemy. If I can do something to protect myself, that would be great," Maya said.

"It’s not just to protect yourself. You will be surprised at how being a summoner and an air mage can be. I will teach you that. And as you can see, that is one way to use air magic" I said as I pointed at his brother who is still trying to speak.

Then I finally stood up from the sofa. I have done my thinking.

She doesn’t have any familiar currently. And I have a monster that might be good for that. If it’s her, then I might be able to trust her. She’s the future Queen of Arturo. Fabio’s fiancée. And my disciple.

"Your first training is your summoning element. Try to open a portal. Since you don’t have a familiar, you don’t have any designated point as the target of your portal. But it will open a portal in another world. To what we call Monsters World. A world filled with monsters. When we summoners summoned a monster for the first time and make a contract with it, the monster came from that world. And even though it’s another world, it’s actually visible from this world," I said.

Then I started explaining to her about Monsters World and how to make a contract with monster there.

"There’s a monster that I want you to pick as your familiar. Of course you can refuse it if you don’t want to. But first, I want you to take a look at her," I said.

"You already have a monster ready? I’m curious. Roy, can you take me there as well?" Fabio asked.

"Sure."

I don’t mind. Fabio is strong after all.

Then I told Maya to try to open a portal. She couldn’t do it in the first try. So I showed her how I do it and open a portal to Monsters World.

After a few times, she finally did it. She opened a portal to Monsters World.

And through the portal, we can see a huge monster trying to enter it. Fabio quickly shoots a fire magic through the portal and killed the monster. Though soon after that, the portal was closed. It’s because Maya is already out of mana.

"That’s great. You can open up a portal. Drink this mana potion first."

I gave her a mana potion brewed by the elves. They’re more effective and sweeter than a normal mana potion.

Then I see her brother looked at me angrily. Maybe it’s something important. So I undo my magic.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!"

I shouldn’t have done that.
