Chapter 1033: Killing the Space Mage
Chapter 1033: Killing the Space Mage
I put on the helmet again before facing the enemies.
I killed one. But there are still five of them.
The space mage is the most troublesome one. Then there’s a sword and shield man who is also a healer. There’s a spearman and a spear and shield man. Lastly, there’s a swordsman.
I killed one of them before. But I don’t think he’s anything special. I should have killed the other sword and shield man instead since he’s a healer.
But if the person I killed was a healer, then I guess the result will be the same. Let’s just be glad that I killed one of them and focus more in killing the rest.
"It’s impossible to find out who he is without killing him. Let’s just kill him. It will be better that way instead," the spearman said.
"I have an idea. How about we call him the names of every single person we’re suspicious of to be the Aura user? We will see from his reaction which one is his real name. And once we’re out of names, we will think of some random names. You can even call your own names if you’re out of ideas," the swordsman suggested.
"That’s better than nothing. Let’s do that. Only when you are free enough. Because we’re fighting the strongest member of the opposition," the space mage said.
Calling me names? That’s a good idea. Only if I didn’t hear them.
So what should I do? Because I’m sure that no matter how good my action is, I will have some sort of reaction once they actually call my name.
Then there’s something simple I can do. Just react to every name that they shouted.
"I’ll kill you King Albert!" the swordsman shouted.
Oh, they think that Albert is the Aura user? I guess he never showed himself when there’s a battle. So it’s kind of suspicious.
"Call me Your Majesty instead!"
I used Reizpear to parry the swordsman’s attack. He used two-handed sword. And it feels like his attack is the heaviest one so far.
"How nice of you to tell us your identity, Empress Lynn!" The sword and shield man shouted as he charged at me.
"I’m the kindest Empress ever!"
They actually suspicious of Lynn? How surprising.
"Wait! He just reacted to every name we shouted! There’s no use in calling him names!" the space mage said.
"Hey, dude! What’s your name?!" the spearman asked.
"It’s Dude with capital D!" I replied.
"Alright, he’s just playing around. Forget calling names," the swordsman agreed with the space mage.
Come on, call me more names! Maybe some of the names are good for next time I have to name a monster.
There’s no more talking it seems. All five of them have serious expression and they are even prepared to die.
When I targeted someone, the space mage would teleport my target to another location. Or he would get the sword and shield man to protect my target.
Since I didn’t have enough preparation like before, my attack to the healer was not strong enough to break his bones again for the second time.
What a pain. Their Etherstone weapons gave them so much confidence. Then how about I destroy those weapons? Though my first target is the shield. I still count it as a weapon.
The healer didn’t get his bones broken. Then I just let go of Reizpear and grabbed his shield away from him.
In the end, I’m still the stronger one and also the more skilled one. The healer can’t hold onto his shield anymore so he let go of it.
Then the swordsman and the spearman attacked me at the same time. I used the shield to protect me before trying to counter attack only for them to be teleported.
"We lost a shield. Let’s take it back!" the spearman shouted.
"No you won’t."
I run toward where the previous sword and shield man died. His shield was taken by a spearman. But his sword was still there.
I used all my strength to destroy the handle of the shield. Then I grabbed the sword on the ground.
Instead of using them to fight, I dropped the shield on the ground. I thrust the sword down to pierce the shield. But the shield is just too strong.
So I jumped and used my knee to push the sword down through the shield. Making it unusable anymore.
"...Fuck. No one said that he could destroy our weapons," the healer said. He only has a sword now.
"Take this. Whatever the case, we have to kill him."
The spearman who took the shield before gave the shield to the healer. He’s better at using them than the spearman. So that’s the best choice to take.
They can’t find out my identity. Their Etherstone Weapon is useless other than to block my Aura. But I am still strong enough to destroy them.
"Just your force to kill him! I don’t think that he has unlimited stamina. We can do it!" the swordsman said before he looked at the space mage.
It’s working. They have no more plans so they have to use the space mage’s teleportation to the fullest. And that’s what I’m aiming.
I don’t know his magic level. But even if the space mage is a master level mage, I don’t think he has unlimited mana.
He has some mana potions with him. And he drunk one when the swordsman said that they’re going to make me use all my stamina.
Now, I just need to make him out of mana. That way, he won’t be able to escape anymore.
The battle becomes harder. Although I took it easy so I don’t have to spend so much stamina, it’s still hard.
Every time I swing Reizpear, it misses. And every time I prepared to receive an attack, the attacker disappeared and reappeared in another location. So I had to block it faster.
I purposely made my move bigger and swing wider. To show them my weakness.
If they’re decent warriors, they should be able to detect my weaknesses and exploit it.
And I was right. They started to notice that my attack become wider. So they made their attack shorter and faster.
Because of that, I got wounded. Just some scratches. And it’s only skin deep.
And I got one more thing right. They have trained since they were young to fight using weapons. But they rarely use those weapons in a real fight. Because they are not Aura user. And fighting using Etherstone weapons is dangerous when the enemy is a mage. So they don’t have much experience in real battle other than in training. And they don’t have experience in wounding someone.
My wound is only skin deep. But they only see that I’m bleeding. They didn’t even think about the feeling in their hand when their weapon destroyed my armor a bit and slashed my skin. They don’t know the real feeling in a fight.
During the battle, I purposely made my armor weaker. And using its transformation skill, I undid the armor in some area to make it seem like they were destroyed by the attacks. I bet the enemies didn’t even notice that.
I also breathed roughly to make it seems like I’m tired. It’s easy to do since I’m an air mage.
But I still tried hard to attack and block the enemies’ attack. Just to make the space mage use teleportation on them again and again.
And finally, I saw him stopped as I blocked the swordsman’s attack. He tried to drink his mana potion. But I won’t let him.
I grabbed the Blobbygun and shoot at the space mage’s bottle of potion. Then I rushed toward him using all the strength I could muster. Which is a lot since I actually didn’t spend so much stamina.
"He’s aiming for the space mage! Stop him!" the swordsman shouted as he realized that I let go of Reizpear that I used to block his attack.
But it’s too late. The space mage is unable to teleport to somewhere safe.
He tried to put up a fight, but it’s useless as he’s not trained and doesn’t have any Etherstone weapon with him.
Just one punch. That’s all I need to kill him. A punch to the head that he tried to block. But instead, I broke his arms as my punch still continued toward his head.
His brain got destroyed. And that’s the end of the space mage. And I only need to face the four warriors now.
"...The space mage died. What should we do now?" the spearman asked.
"He’s strong and fast. Even if we can fly, he will still be faster. We might not be able to kill him. But if we delay him here for as long as possible, someone might come and kill him in the end. That’s the only thing we can do," the swordsman said.
"I guess we were wrong about him not having unlimited stamina. He’s just faking his exhaustion," the spearman said.
"Even though he’s wounded, he can still move like that. Guys, I think this is the end for us. Let’s wound him more before reinforcement arrives," the swordsman said.
Now that the space mage is gone, there’s nothing I need to be afraid of.
