The Newlywed's Sweet Honey: Husband, Pamper Me to the Bone!

Chapter 561 Aren’t You Curious?

Chapter 561 Aren’t You Curious?

Since Old Sir Yan died, the Yan Family Mansion was inherited by Yan Yaohao.

Perhaps to show his remembrance for the Old Man, he eventually chose to live here. However, unlike the Old Man, he seems to dislike having too many people around. Apart from a handful of servants, no one else can be seen, making the vast mansion eerily empty.

He often stays alone in the Old Man’s study, sometimes for most of the day.

But lately, he has become increasingly reclusive, almost never leaving the Old Man’s study, and even the servants rarely see him. They can only leave food at the study door at regular times.

The Old Man’s study is very large, with one wall completely covered by bookshelves. On the wall opposite the study’s entrance, there is another door, leading to a bedroom inside, which is not small in size.

The style is understated and quaint, retaining the appearance from the Old Man’s lifetime.

It was mealtime again, and Yan Yaohao opened the door. A servant had already placed a dining cart outside.

He pushed the dining cart in and moved it into the bedroom.

Yan Sijue stood with his back toward him, seemingly admiring a painting on the wall. His posture remained upright.

Yan Yaohao did not speak or disturb him but stood there watching his back, as if he would never tire of it.

Until Yan Sijue turned around and walked to him, naturally taking the dishes from the dining cart, filling the table, and then sat down to dine.

It was as if Yan Yaohao was merely a subordinate sent to deliver the dining cart, not worthy of any attention.

Yan Yaohao sat down opposite him.

Since the Old Man’s death, he has taken on the massive family business of the Yan Family. Perhaps due to power, the youth who once seemed gentle and elegant is no longer the same. Now, he is silent and sullen, the way he curls his lips is also insidiously chilling.

The way he looks at people has, for some reason, become more and more like the Old Man.

"Your people seem to have found out." Yan Yaohao abruptly spoke.

Yan Sijue’s hand holding the chopsticks paused for a moment, then he nonchalantly picked up a piece of meat and ate it as if nothing happened.

Since being brought here by Yan Yaohao, he has remained exceptionally calm, perhaps excessively so.

He hadn’t even asked Yan Yaohao why he did it, as if he wasn’t surprised at all.

Yan Yaohao found it odd too; most of the time, he just stared at him blankly without any intent to harm or to reveal his purpose.

In the past two days, their conversations were scarce.

The only apparent interaction was when Yan Yaohao asked if he had any dietary restrictions.

But today, Yan Yaohao seemed eager to talk.

"Do you think your subordinates will succeed?" he asked without any emotion.

Yan Sijue raised his brows and said bluntly, "Not very likely."

Yan Yaohao chuckled, "The Old Man’s belongings are all here. Since he died, I haven’t touched them. Have you observed anything? Any secret passageways?"

"Even if there were, they would have long been sealed by you," Yan Sijue didn’t seem to care, "I only examine the room’s decor because there’s nothing else to do."

Anyone confined within a room would need something to occupy themselves.

"Aren’t you curious? About why I’m keeping you here?" His smile suddenly turned bizarre, both tender and expectant.

Yan Sijue furrowed his brows, "I don’t want to know."
