The Master of Beasts

Chapter 486 - 103

Chapter 486 - 103

Time passed swiftly, and the seven days trickled away like grains of sand through one’s fingers.

CLANG CLANG CLANG!

A heavy bell tolled nine times—this was the Mountain Bell, the Supreme Treasure guarding Earth Spirit Immortal City.

Nine tolls signaled a catastrophe of the highest order. The Loose Cultivators in possession of a Token, including Chen Jiuge, excitedly stepped out of their abodes.

RRRIP!

The sky was torn open, revealing a massive vortex above. This was the entrance to the Jade Flood Dragon Secret Realm.

Without any warnings or reminders, all Cultivators, whether outsiders or disciples of the Five Elements Sect, obediently took out their Tokens and activated them.

Beams of light descended from the vortex, and figures slowly floated into the Secret Realm.

"Say what you will, but the Five Elements Sect does have one thing going for it. They have strict rules," Jia Ke, who had appeared at some unknown time, said with a smile.

Chen Jiuge replied somewhat oddly, "Brother Jia, why aren’t you going in yet?"

"Brother Chen, aren’t you also still out here?" Jia Ke retorted.

Chen Jiuge gave Jia Ke a once-over and said with a sheepish smile, "My cultivation is too low. I just hope to bring back one Jade Flood Dragon."

Jia Ke chuckled, then tossed a piece of parchment into Chen Jiuge’s arms without another word and activated his Token to enter the Secret Realm.

Peeking slightly at a corner of the parchment, Chen Jiuge’s pupils narrowed, and he quickly activated his Token.

As he sped through the light and experienced a spatial shift, Chen Jiuge felt slightly dizzy and shook his head.

A milky-white river surged rapidly over the verdant ground. Occasionally, small fish resembling White Jade leaped from the water. These were the White Jade Fish, the Jade Flood Dragon Secret Realm’s special Spiritual Beasts.

Looking into the distance, towering mountains stood majestically, entirely formed from jade—red, white, black, and green, some even mixed with multiple colors.

TING-A-LING!

A breeze brushed past, and the branches of a nearby jade tree collided, producing a crisp sound.

"It’s a pity Yu Heng isn’t here; this would have been his element," Chen Jiuge mentioned with some regret.

CRACK! AWOOO!

A piercing scream rose. A Netherworld Tiger, spotting a young creature sneaking a peek nearby, had pounced and pinned it down. Applying too much force, it wounded the small creature, causing its White Jade-like skin to crack open and green blood to flow out.

Chen Jiuge examined the little fellow, which was reminiscent of a Unicorn. He dipped his finger in its blood, brought it to his nose, smelled it, and then tasted it. "Why does this blood taste so much like Spirit Jade?" he remarked curiously.

Interested, Chen Jiuge activated the Chaos Pearl in his Sea of Consciousness. Mysterious Chaotic Spiritual Energy slowly flowed from his fingertips, entering the small creature’s body and inducing a Bloodline Mutation.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

The sound of a Jade Pendant shattering rang out. The small creature screamed and then burst apart, turning into pieces of fine jade that shot out in all directions.

The fine jade that the small creature had transformed into slowly merged with the ground. Chen Jiuge exclaimed, "Interesting."

This miraculous spectacle also drew the attention of other Spiritual Beasts. The Jade Flood Dragon Secret Realm would be open for a hundred years, so Chen Jiuge was in no rush. He decided to first explore the secrets of these small creatures.

"Little fellows, go and catch more of these creatures for me. Qing Ling, you go catch some White Jade Fish from the river. They say the White Jade Fish in the Jade Flood Dragon Secret Realm taste unparalleled. Since we’re here, we have to try them!"

WHOOP!

The Spiritual Beasts cheered and immediately dispersed. They had been bored staying in the Five Elements Secret Realm. Now that they finally had a chance to come out, they were eager to enjoy themselves!

As he released various Five Elements Techniques from his hands, an exquisite small courtyard materialized. Looking at the jade-like courtyard, Chen Jiuge said in surprise, "Interesting. So this really is earth."

After a while, the Netherworld Tiger leisurely returned, dragging behind it a string of small Unicorn-like creatures. Given the green at the corners of its mouth, it was clear the beast had snuck a few bites while outside.

Chen Jiuge patted the Netherworld Tiger’s paw and didn’t say much. It was only feasting on some Low Rank Spiritual Beasts. Even if these small creatures were a bit unusual, they wouldn’t cause much harm to the Netherworld Tiger.

AOOW!

The call of the small Unicorn creature was somewhat like a tiger’s roar but lacked its majestic aura, sounding instead rather clumsy.

"Hehehe, let me see what secrets you hold," Chen Jiuge rubbed his hands together and began guiding each small creature through its mutation.

The Chaos Pearl’s induced mutation wasn’t creating something from nothing. It involved stimulating the Bloodline already present within the Spiritual Beast with Chaotic Spiritual Energy. This allowed the Bloodline to absorb other latent Bloodlines and strengthen itself.

Due to differences in Bloodlines, as absorption took place, the outwardly manifested Bloodlines of the Spiritual Beasts continually changed. This continued until they reached a limit, at which point they underwent an indescribable transformation—this was mutation.

BANG!

White jade stained with green blood scattered, leaving little pits all over the small courtyard.

Chen Jiuge picked up the next small Unicorn creature and said somewhat strangely, "It’s odd that the outwardly manifested Bloodline isn’t the one with the highest concentration within the body."

It seems something in this Jade Flood Dragon Secret Realm is affecting these unicorns. I wonder what’s up with those White Jade Fish?

As he was contemplating this, the Green Rhombus Snake struggled back. Its round belly significantly slowed its movement, and its tail tip dragged a large net. The net was full of densely packed White Jade Fish, numbering at least several hundred.

"Master, I’m back."

The Green Rhombus Snake belched, filling the entire courtyard with a strong fishy smell.

"Didn’t realize you were such a foodie," Chen Jiuge teased.
