Chapter 1460 421: Kind-Hearted Princess Aileen (4)

Under the illumination of the Holy Light, the young man's pale face finally regained a hint of color, and the mangled arm also began to somewhat resemble its original form.

Though it hadn't fully healed, at least his life was not in danger anymore.

"...This is all I can do for now. His injuries are too severe; I'm afraid only a Healing Technique of Gold Level or higher would be effective." The healer returned to Erin's side, and said gravely.

Ryan Kingdom is indeed a Land of Knights, not a land of healers. These knights only know a little about Healing Magic, far from being proficient, and they've never tried healing such strange injuries.

By comparison, sword or spear wounds are much easier to handle, and they can naturally resist some of the damage.

Upon understanding the situation, Erin nodded and said seriously.

"I understand. I will find a way afterward."

Even though the injured person was just a commoner, she wouldn't ignore her own people.

Theresa glanced at the Guard Captain who was walking over and pointed her chin at the crowd at the entrance.

"Does this textile factory have so many workers?"

The sheer number of them almost filled the factory, and she could hardly imagine they were all employees here.

The Guard Captain scratched his beard and replied awkwardly.

"Well... I'm not sure. Only Mr. Horace would know."

But based on his experience, some of these people were likely looting opportunists who didn't flee fast enough when the army arrived and simply mingled with these textile workers.

Theresa nodded, just about to speak further, but Erin interrupted her.

"Theresa, their identities aren't important, their voices are what truly matters."

Looking at her loyal knight, Erin said seriously.

"I've already heard their demands. Now I need you to bring Horace here."

"Yes, Your Highness."

Theresa accepted the order respectfully, without hesitation, and with two guards, she worked her way through the crowd into the factory.

The crowd naturally made way, and no one dared to stop them.

Upon entering the factory, Theresa went straight to the third floor and came to a crooked iron door, signaling with a wave of her hand.

A guard stepped forward and pounded heavily on the door with the hilt of his sword, shouting loudly.

"Horace, the Princess invites you over!"

Having peeked out the window and seen the situation outside, Horace scrambled to the door to open it, squeezing out a smile of relief on his pale face.

"Thank, thank you! Saint Sis above, you've finally come! I thought I was dead for sure!"

If not for the female knight's piercing gaze, he might have impulsively hugged her thigh.

Similarly, the two bodyguards behind him, suspected to have Black Iron Level strength, were scared like dogs.

Theresa wasted no words, signaling him with her eyes to follow her and led him through the crowd to Erin Campbell.

"Your Highness, I've brought the person you wanted."

Erin nodded at Theresa.

"Very well, Theresa, you may step back."

"Yes."

Theresa nodded respectfully, then withdrew into the ranks, away from Horace.

Left alone, Horace glanced quickly at the angry textile workers around him and couldn't help but swallow nervously, his previous arrogance completely gone.

Seeing Her Highness looking at him, he hurriedly squeezed out another smile and, feigning magnanimity, cleared his throat and said.

"Praise Saint Sis, praise the glory of the Campbell family! Your Highness, your beauty remains as—"

Erin gave a gentle cough.

Horace shuddered and quickly changed his tone, stuttering out his previously withheld words of compromise.

"Alright, I've changed my mind! You win! The wages will still be eighteen hundred copper coins—"

"Eighteen hundred copper coins?" Erin interrupted him with a sharp look, "I heard the average wage here is two thousand. Just who is right, my Affairs Officer or you?"

"Of, of course, both are right..."

Horace nervously wiped his sweat and explained tremblingly, "Last year it was indeed two thousand, but as you know, this year's business hasn't been good... Our production of cashmere goods has far exceeded market demand, so, so..."

Erin raised her hand to silence his excuses, continuing in a calm voice.

"Mr. Horace, no one knows better than I the market price of wool and how your business is doing... Do you know what lying to the Campbell family means?"

"I, I, I wouldn't dare!" Horace's legs went weak with fear, and he wailed in misery.

Erin looked at him expressionlessly, unmoved, issuing a command with an authoritative tone.

"I command you in the name of the Campbell family, you must swear allegiance to my banner, and you must not use today's incident as an excuse to punish any of today's troublemakers, nor reduce the workers' wages in any form or for any excuse, and you must fully compensate the injured worker and bear all his medical expenses!"

At the moment her words fell, cheers and whistles erupted all around, and the workers' faces, once ashen, were alight with hopeful anticipation as if seeing the dawn of hope.

However, in stark contrast, cold sweat poured down Horace's forehead like rain.

The majesty of the Duchy Royal Family was indeed terrifying.

But for him to accept such unequal terms, it'd be better to just kill him with one stroke!
