Chapter 1360 - 397: Butterfly of All Things (Part 3)
Or perhaps, staying there isn't too bad either.
The Spiritual Waves of the Curator became complicated, and the tendrils of his body undulated gently like waves.
"...After the 'Great Collapse,' the surviving Solipsi people split into two factions. One faction, led by a leader named 'Novel,' decided to abandon our shattered homeland and flee beyond the Void to seek new fertile ground."
Upon hearing the name 'Novel,' Luo Yan's Spiritual Waves projected a hint of surprise.
"Novel?" He looked at the Curator in shock and blurted out, "I met him! But...was that before we met?"
When he encountered Novel, he didn't even have the guise of a Prince of the Empire, and his understanding of the Academic State was only from the few words of an apprentice.
The Curator smiled gently, his Spiritual Waves becoming profound and calm, seemingly unsurprised by the confusion of this former 'creator.'
"This is not surprising, my dear master. As long as you exist long enough, you'll discover that time actually doesn't exist at all."
Before the dear 'Ancient Gods' could digest this sentence, the elderly Curator continued with unremarkable waves.
"It belongs to no dimension, nor is it an entity that can be touched. It is not born from any physical law or axiom, but entirely from 'our' perception of the material world."
"From the perspective of the Void overlooking our universe, the new birth of the universe and the thermal silence occur simultaneously, just like the meeting and parting of two civilizations, and the birth and death of an individual."
"Seeing him indicates that he succeeded, and the Novel who fled into the Void became an existence ubiquitous yet nowhere to be found."
"However, you need not blame yourself. Even without you, 'he' would still be born—as long as there are people in this world who long for 'him.'"
Luo Yan didn't feel any guilt, just a bit perplexed.
According to the Curator's theory...
Doesn't that make him the father of Novel?
Of course—
Maybe this guy has a lot of fathers; one less wouldn't matter.
Perhaps thinking that Novel wasn't worth an extensive account in Solipsi people's history, the Curator didn't elaborate on this. Instead, he began describing another part in front of Luo Yan—
The Solipsi people who stayed behind.
"...We once influenced countless worlds, but only the world where we exist truly belongs to us. There are many young civilizations in this universe, rich in culture and memory, and we do not wish for those children to pay for our mistakes."
"Therefore, we decided to do something for the homeland where we existed, with our limited lifespans..."
Following the 'Great Collapse,' a movement called the 'Great Return' began.
In the final moments, the remaining Solipsi people started using their remaining technology to mend the shattered universe, returning the spaces they had once carved from various star systems to their original coordinates one by one.
After a tremendous sacrifice, the collapse of the universe was miraculously halted, although the wounds created once would be forever eternal.
All the young civilizations could gaze upon that ugly scar in the starry sky—a star domain without stars.
Yet, although the universe was reborn, the civilization of the Solipsi people came to an end.
Their civilization was entirely built on the plundering of space, and once everything was returned, their world had nothing left to hold on to, only a faint remnant of warmth remaining.
In the final moments of civilization, the Solipsi people, known as 'Curators,' gathered the remaining debris and memory of their civilization and constructed this 'Resonance Gallery' independent of the Main World.
Feeling the Spiritual Waves of the Ancient Gods filled with awe, the Curator cast his gaze at the magnificent miracle of countless spatial fragments before him and spoke with gentle waves.
"...This is the origin of the gallery before you."
"It isn't to flaunt art or miracle; it's merely to prove that we were once here and ultimately chose salvation over the destruction of all."
Time flowed silently between the two souls.
After a long while, Luo Yan uttered a sentiment from the depths of his soul.
"Unbelievable...you accomplished all this in fifty centuries."
A trace of comforting waves came from the Curator's consciousness.
"I am honored by your praise. Perhaps you've already sensed it; to us, your existence is like that of our father. Although we grow old before you, at the end of time, we will walk together."
"I am grateful that you listened to our story until the end... Even when soon we turn to dust, people in another distant universe will remember us."
As he said this, the Curator's tendrils reached forward, and a silver necklace appeared on his tendrils.
The central part of the necklace was clear and transparent, shaped like a multicolored butterfly, so beautiful that one would wonder if it did not belong to this world.
"...This is a creature we observed in your world. We liked it very much. Its life is brief, yet in a limited lifespan, it holds a beauty that makes one reluctant to look away."
"We constructed its body with Ether as a vessel to contain you. Now, our reunion has ended, and I wish to ask you to accept it... Though it might not be a very valuable gift, it may provide some insignificant convenience for your future journey."
Just by looking at it, Luo Yan could feel the extraordinary nature of this necklace.
