The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 1218 362: The Demon King Infiltrates the Academic State

Chapter 1218 362: The Demon King Infiltrates the Academic State

The heavy oak door slowly closed behind, isolating the ancient and dignified atmosphere within Professor Hector's office.

Outside the door, it's a completely different world.

Luo Yan's gaze swept across the corridor.

The walls here were made of white marble, adorned with paintings and tapestries, similar to the estates of the nobles in the Holy City.

The only difference was that some engravings on the paintings slowly changed characters, displaying the exact time, and "sunny" or "rainy" outside of the Tower, which was meaningless to those inside.

At this moment, a young man briskly approached from one side of the corridor.

He wasn't tall, about the average height of a male in the Rhode Kingdom, yet his steps were light, showing vigorous energy.

Over his thin shoulders was a plain magic robe made by the Academic State, with a "gear and feather pen" badge pinned to his chest, indicating his role in the administrative department.

"Good day, honorable Prince Colin." The young man stopped before Luo Yan, bowed respectfully, "My name is Kegi, I am an assistant in the administrative department, instructed by Professor Hector to guide you to the residence prepared for you."

His voice was clear, speaking quickly, like a walking "Academic State New Student Handbook."

While diligently maintaining professionalism, a hint of awe and curiosity couldn't help but show in those bright eyes towards this "perfect test genius" and "Imperial Noble."

Looking at this energetic young fellow, Luo Yan smiled and nodded.

"Please lead the way, Mr. Keji."

His quick wit really did resemble a "Corgi."

"Please follow me!"

Not expecting the esteemed Prince Colin to be so courteous to a servant like him, Kegi was both surprised and honored, eagerly leading the group to the other side of the corridor.

At the end of the corridor was an open terrace, where if standing at the edge, one might see clouds floating by their feet.

Luo Yan noticed a few floating rugs parked there, with golden patterns faintly glowing like fireflies.

Keji introduced with a smile.

"The teachers' dormitory tower is opposite the main tower, taking the flying carpet is the fastest—"

"No need to hurry, Mr. Keji." Luo Yan politely declined, continuing in a conversational tone, "I am new here, and everything about the Academic State fascinates me. If convenient, please lead me on foot to the dormitory tower, so I can marvel at this renowned academic sanctuary."

This request seemed reasonable.

Kegi was only slightly surprised, then gladly nodded in agreement.

"Of course, Your Highness! It is my utmost honor to fulfill your request… Well, we need to first take the elevator to the apprentice plaza, please follow me!"

The group arrived at a large atrium beside which a granite platform decorated with brass and demon crystals quietly waited.

Kegi stepped onto it first, injecting magic power into the engravings on the platform.

"Buzz—"

Blue magic light coursed along the magic patterns into the demon crystal.

Once Luo Yan and the group were steady on the platform, the entire rock structure vibrated, producing a low hum as it descended toward the lower tower.

This seems like a magical version of an elevator, artfully designed.

In Luo Yan's own Demon King Territory, there was an elevator crafted by players, though its design leaned more towards a steampunk industrial style, quite distinct from the one beneath his feet.

The vertical "elevator shaft" was not entirely enclosed; the floating stone platform occasionally passed through open floors, allowing glimpses of people quickly moving beyond railings.

Luo Yan curiously observed the surroundings, while Keji warmly continued introducing beside him.

"...Before you is the faculty hall of the Tower of Great Sage, where professors and masters from the Source Magic School conduct daily business!"

"Are all those people professors?" Luo Yan glanced at the bustling hall, his eyes showing surprise.

Among the crowd were not only humans but also pointy-eared elves, dwarves with beards dragging on the ground, and even demon statues.

Keji chuckled apologetically, and softly said, "Uh, those are not all professors. Some are administrative staff, while others are assistants like me, or apprentices ranked lower than me. The mentors here seldom personally handle these tedious matters, we believe that wise and noble individuals like you should dedicate more energy to higher pursuits."

Luo Yan nodded.

This indeed seemed quite reasonable.

In contrast, it was no wonder apprentices sharpened their wits to ascend.

After passing through the relatively high-level faculty hall, the floating stone platform sunk into a quiet and solemn area.

This place resembled Professor Hector's office region but was comparatively simpler, presumably belonging to the mentors.

Heavy oak doors remained shut, embossed with brass plaques bearing professors' names and titles, the air infused with the scent of aged parchment and rare incense.

Occasionally, he caught sight through the corridor's arched window of one or two older mages, clad in fine attire, leaning on magic wands, conversing quietly with solemn faces along another corridor.

As the platform continued descending, the surrounding atmosphere began to change.

Noise and vibrancy gradually filled everyone's ears, as they were entering the "research zone" in the middle section of the Tower of Great Sage!
