Chapter 1712 - 794: Turning Point of Destiny_3

"Hmm, it’s strange, an endless mist, a bizarre mist, I can’t see clearly."

The Book of the Future closed its pages, ending its glimpse into destiny.

"The future is chaotic."

Rod felt a slight hesitation, but after a moment of contemplation, he decided to take a look.

What if there really is some kind of gain?

"Let’s go."

Rod made the final decision.

Kai had no further objections, and the five of them set off at once.

They flew out from the War Fortress and quickly reached the Ice Soil Continent, where the temperature dropped significantly in an instant. A bone-chilling coldness hit them, but as top-tier powerhouses, they defended against the cold with a spin of their Spiritual Energy.

However, the cold wasn’t the terrifying part; it was the Black Fog.

For some reason, the Source Black Fog on the Ice Soil Continent seemed even more formidable. Except for Rod, the other four carried the Fire Spirit Lamp, but the light’s range didn’t extend beyond half a meter around them.

The cold wind mixed with Black Fog roared, and although the Spiritual Defense protected their bodies, Rod still felt an indescribable primal and distant chill, as if blowing from the depths of the universe, directly reaching his soul.

"Is this the Ice Soil Continent?" Rod sighed inwardly.

The Book of Knowledge turned its pages: "Yes, master, this is the Ice Soil Continent, the outermost Edge Continent according to legend."

"Outermost?" Rod asked in surprise.

"Yes, the Edge Continent is also layered. The Gray Soil Continent, Ash Land, Dead Soil Continent, and Ice Soil Continent are clearly defined. Among them, the Gray Soil Continent and Dead Soil Continent are in the middle layer, Ash Land is near the Main Continent, and the Ice Soil Continent is the outermost layer. Hence, you can also see the Ice Soil Continent in other directions."

Rod was silent for a while and then asked, "What lies beyond the Ice Soil Continent?"

"There lies the endless mist, a place where space is yet to form, the Main Material World closest to the Void, and the legendary Dark Taboo Place... Some say the Black Fog was born in that infinite Void."

The words of the Book of Knowledge seemed to carry an endless chill, as if freezing Rod’s heart. He couldn’t imagine such a scene and didn’t even know if the Black Fog existed there.

Amidst his chaotic thoughts, Rod soon arrived at the area known as "strange."

Looking down, there were endless mountain ranges below.

In those mountains, there was a very unique area, roughly a few hundred kilometers in circumference, shrouded in a layer of gray mist so conspicuous that the Black Fog couldn’t obscure it.

Horus glanced at the Spiritual Energy map and said solemnly, "Yes, this is the ’strange’ region."

Olivia closed her eyes to sense but detected no abnormal movement.

"Below is a void, as if it doesn’t exist."

Rod also observed this region, which was quite different from the surrounding area; the nearby mountains were dark-colored.

While on the Ice Soil Continent, all the mountains were a gray-white color.

Horus said, "Let’s go down; we can’t see anything from the outside."

Saying that, he flew directly into the mist.

Rod followed closely behind.

As recorded, there was nothing in the mist, but the internal space was severely distorted. Rod could clearly sense a huge void at the center of the mist, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t approach it. No matter which direction they took, they always ended up coming out the other side.

The same happened even using the Spirit Boat.

Rod tried several times, always with the same outcome.

"Strange."

The Book of Knowledge turned its pages slowly.

"How can space be distorted to this extent? It’s like some sort of sealing."

Rod worriedly said, "Could there be some kind of powerful monster sealed inside?"

At this moment, the puppet suddenly said, "Master, I have a strange sense of familiarity, like we’ve seen it somewhere before."

The Book of the Future called out, "I feel the same, Master; it feels so close to us yet separated by something."

At that moment, it was as if a string in Rod’s mind was plucked, and some forgotten memories flickered in his mind. He struggled to recall them but couldn’t grasp the clues.

"What is it?"

This feeling gnawed at Rod, pacing back and forth in the Dream Realm, desperately trying to grab hold of this thread.

After an unknown period, Rod found himself before the "Heavenly Sphere Clock," his gaze inadvertently falling on this long-forgotten structure. Suddenly, his soul felt as if struck by lightning.

As if by instinct, Rod reached out and touched the structure.

In the next moment, the "Heavenly Sphere Clock" began to turn, and a gloomy scene appeared before him.

It was a dark city, covered in blackened, decaying material. Looking closer, the decay was intertwined flesh and organs—heart, stomach, lung lobes, intestines, brain tissue—interconnected and subtly writhing.

But as Rod’s gaze swept over it, an eyeball emerged from the decay, scanning around before sinking again.

In that moment, the fog in Rod’s mind was entirely dispersed; he finally knew what he had forgotten.

This was the Ancient City where the Dream Fragments locked by the "Heavenly Sphere Clock" were located!

Since Rod became the True King, he had tried countless times to approach but was invariably postponed by this and that, until eventually, he never thought of it again.

Not just him, but even the Book of Knowledge, the puppet, and the Book of the Future had forgotten.

As if this matter became a taboo, erased from their memories.

The Book of Knowledge shouted, "Black Fog! It’s the Black Fog preventing us! It’s afraid we’ll find this place! Afraid we’ll reclaim the Dream Fragments, discover the countless Divine Source Material, numerous Divine Stones, and all the Divine Flesh and Blood hidden here!"

"This is our chance for victory!"

Rod clenched his fist, feeling his blood accelerate, eardrums vibrating, a strange humming and dizziness surrounding him.

Perhaps this was the starting point for him to defeat the Black Fog.
