The Knight from the Fairytales

Chapter 72: The Third Sea King

Chapter 72: The Third Sea King

Today was an undersea celebration. The marine creatures decorated with lanterns and streamers, and when it came to such events, they truly went all out in extravagance. Luminescent pearls from the seafloor were used as light bulbs.

The old Sea King was also seated on his throne, a happy smile on his face. What excited him most was that his children all seemed a bit impatient.

"When you turn sixteen, you can go from the seafloor up to the land to take a look, even live there. I think we should establish a village by the sea."

"I think we should establish a kingdom, a kingdom belonging solely to us, specifically to welcome our companions."

The old Sea King felt greatly gratified. He took out a seashell from behind him and opened it. Inside were small statues of the old Sea King and his wife. As the shell opened, a mechanism was triggered, causing the statues inside to gently rotate accompanied by the emergence of music.

"The children are all very happy. I have never seen them smile like this. When they turn sixteen, they are always full of fantasies about the outside world, always joyful."

"But I am always a little worried. It's just that now, I think I should also loosen my grip a little."

The old Sea King closed the seashell and looked down at the benefactor who had brought a kind of rebirth to the entire undersea world, who could be said to have changed the entire race. Below, this benefactor was currently bargaining with a demon.

"No need to worry too much. Actually, I am still quite selfish. My second wish is to bless every girl here, so that after they go out, they can meet their true love and won't be deceived by the outside world."

"My third wish is that when they leave, I hope good luck will accompany them. Any hardships that arise along the way will ultimately lead to sweetness after bitterness, leaving no regrets."The demon was like a numb wishing machine, squeezing itself dry.

"No more, bro, I can't do it anymore. Give me a straight answer. I don't have a drop left. I can't grant you any more wishes. We need to have a beginning and an end. One shouldn't be too greedy;

there will be retribution."

The demon stuck out its tongue, feeling completely drained of strength all over. After fulfilling these three massive wishes, the demon wanted to curse. Is this what you call 'a little selfish'?

You don't want gold, silver, or treasures. You don't want immense strength. You don't want the power of a king. Instead, you help these sea creatures. Is this guy's head messed up?

Seeing that the demon had little value left, Beihai simply waved his hand. "Heaven has a virtue of sparing life. Naturally, I won't kill you. You may go."

Beihai took out Aladdin's Lamp, rubbed it, and summoned the Genie. Finally, he stuffed the demon into the lamp. Because he couldn't be sure if the wishes would disappear after the demon died, he adopted a somewhat gentler approach.

The demon, on the side, expressed, 'Right, right, right. You punched my head, then took advantage of me before I could react, sneak attacked me, and stuffed me into the lamp.'

The Aladdin Genie came out, but its house had been taken over. If it wanted to go back, it would have to drive the demon out of the lamp.

But right now, what it needed was to help someone else fulfill three wishes and then quickly gain its freedom. It could do without this house.

So, it only needed to reseal the demon. Trading one demon's freedom for the freedom of the entire seafloor was a very cost-effective deal.

Beihai was moved to tears by this demon. As the saying goes, 'I vow not to attain Buddhahood until hell is emptied.' Now that the demon had such a mindset, it was truly a case of a prodigal son returning!

Just as these words were spoken, the Sea King had already arrived before Beihai and bowed to him.

"Sir, you are benevolent and righteous."

"No need for that. This is what I should do. If you have troubles or difficulties, I will naturally lend a hand, as long as it doesn't violate my principles."

Beihai was also very polite to the Sea King. After all, he wasn't the one suffering any loss. To be honest, this is a demon after all;

who knows if it's dangerous? If the demon really escaped later, the old Sea King would probably be more anxious than Beihai.

After another round of grateful exchanges, Beihai took out a mirror and told the Sea King that he could look into it whenever he was bored and ask about anything he didn't know.

The old Sea King was moved once again, firmly grabbing Beihai's hand, insisting that they must become sworn brothers.

Of course, this frightened Beihai. He was a bit confused as to why the old Sea King wanted to take revenge on him for no good reason.

"Don't go that far, no need for that."

"If I don't do this, how can I repay this kindness of yours? From now on, we will rule the entire undersea world together. The entire ocean will heed your command. From now on, you are my brother."

"That won't do. We should keep things separate."

In the end, Beihai originally thought that at most, he would take some local specialties from the seafloor or receive the System's reward, and that would be a full load to return with.

The reality was even better than imagined. The old Sea King gifted Beihai a trident, threw in the entire seafloor's treasure trove, and even handed over control of the sea domain to Beihai.

This meant that from now on, when Beihai encountered water, he could manipulate it, and he could play with this seawater like a pet. In the future, he would never return empty-handed from fishing;

whatever fish he wanted to eat would jump into his bowl themselves.

The true third Sea King. The first was naturally the old Sea King, the original ruler of the sea. The second was his son. The third was Beihai.

This unexpected delight was indeed something Beihai hadn't anticipated. After all, from Beihai's perspective, he didn't seem to have done much. He gave a mirror, fought a demon, and inexplicably got promoted to Sea King.

This made Beihai feel that the title of Sea King was a bit cheap, and he really didn't care for it either. But since someone was giving it, not taking it would be a waste.

After yet another round of grateful exchanges and pleasantries, Aladdin's Lamp finally couldn't hold back.

"Look at me, look at me! I can grant you any wish."

The Aladdin Genie had a topknot tied on its head, its entire body was blue, and it had no legs, though that was just because it didn't want to manifest them.

Regarding this Aladdin's Lamp, Beihai already had his own plan. He wanted to save this Aladdin Genie and use the three wishes to place restraints upon the Aladdin Genie itself.

Basically, it would be something like making it perform one good deed a day. Otherwise, letting it regain its freedom would cause big problems.

There's a story: a king obtained Aladdin's Lamp, summoned the Genie, and then the king asked, 'What do you want?'

Because the king lacked nothing. He had family, wealth, power. What else could he lack? The king wouldn't even get depression.

After thinking for two seconds, the Genie tentatively began making wishes to the king. Then it ended up sleeping with the king's wife, giving him a huge green hat on the spot. Finally, it scammed food and drinks and had powerful magic, truly doing whatever it wanted.

Furthermore, Aladdin's Lamp is indeed involved in an important story, basically about a poor young man and a famous princess.
