The Knight from the Fairytales

Chapter 68: Where Did This Onion Come From?

Chapter 68: Where Did This Onion Come From?

The Prince was going to save the Princess, and no matter what difficulties lay ahead, he could crush them all!

The Prince on his white horse brandished his sword and charged into the dark forest, forging ahead with unwavering determination, with just this kind of gutsy, charging spirit!

"Good, as expected of the Prince, don't drop the ball!"

Beihai was cheering from behind. It had to be said, this damn forest was really hard to navigate. The path was uneven, with cliffs and steep walls here and there. To take a shortcut, you had to jump over them.

The Prince didn't care about any of that. He just spurred his horse onward. When encountering cliffs and precipices, he would pull the reins and make the horse leap over. When branches blocked the way, he would draw his treasured sword and cut them all down.

The journey was completely unobstructed. For some reason, all the animals in the forest came running out, following the Prince as if guiding the way.

Like a great army, they cleared all the obstacles around, and then, as if equipped with radar, headed straight for Snow White's hiding place, which was also the house of the seven dwarfs.

When they arrived beside the house, countless animals had already gathered there in a tight circle. The Prince dismounted, sheathed his sword, and then, remarkably, not a speck of dust was on him. He approached the door like a gentleman and began to sing a song.

What we cannot deny is that the Prince truly was a gentleman, possessing everything a Prince should have.

Inside the house, the seven dwarfs—Doc, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Happy, Dopey, and Grumpy—were originally dancing with Snow White, with a pie cooking in the pot... no, an apple pie.The seven dwarfs were willing to take Snow White in, but in return, Snow White also had to work here—washing clothes, cooking, and also being skilled at making delicious food: apple pies, puddings, strawberry sticks, and so on.

To be more precise, it was because Snow White could make these delicacies that the dwarfs let her stay. This followed the ancient ways of the fairy tale world, namely the system of exchange.

Now, hearing the sound of horse hooves outside, they were very alarmed. They each opened the door a tiny crack, squeezed together at the entrance, and peered out with pairs of eyes.

Doc was very worried. "What's happening? Could it be that the wicked Queen has sent soldiers?"

Grumpy's face flushed red instantly, and he rolled up his sleeves, wanting to open the door and confront whoever it was head-on. "How dare she come? Good thing we're all here."

Bashful hurriedly grabbed Grumpy.

"No, it's a man riding a fine horse."

Dopey and Sneezy quickly pushed Snow White, urging her to hide.

"A song is sung for you, a heart beats warmly, never ceasing..."

The Prince sang. When these songs reached Snow White's ears, she responded with her own singing, her movements beginning to dance gracefully.

She opened the door directly. Faced with this situation, the dwarfs quickly slipped out from behind the door and stood in two rows to the side, beginning to whisper among themselves.

The Prince and Snow White just held hands and, ignoring the surrounding gazes, began to dance in the forest.

Beihai watched this heartwarming scene, casually grabbed a squirrel nearby, and wiped his own tears. So touching, really.

The little squirrel had no objections. It just hugged its own tail and also wiped its tears, feeling that the lovers were finally united.

"Wait, why am I crying? Which bastard brought this onion here? And who is playing this BGM?"

For no reason at all, he just felt the atmosphere had arrived. If Beihai didn't shed a few tears, it would seem a bit of a mood-killer.

Just at this moment of universal joy, celebration, and jubilation, the BGM came to an abrupt halt. The Queen broke through the ranks of the animals.

The moment she appeared, all the animals instinctively made way, revealing a vacuum zone. The Prince saw the Queen and immediately shielded Snow White behind him.

Snow White also cooperated perfectly, shrinking into a ball behind the Prince.

The Queen also hadn't expected the timing of her arrival to be so off. She quickly waved her hands in a standard French courtesy gesture.

"I mean no harm. I just want to have a chat with Snow White."

Seeing that the Queen had no weapon in hand, the Prince lowered his guard somewhat. And Snow White, with her big heart, seeing the Queen say this, stepped right out of the safe zone and, acting very familiar, took the Queen's hands in hers.

The two of them just started chatting. The content of their conversation was also very simple.

The Queen was also here to try, not expecting Snow White's forgiveness, so her words were somewhat difficult, her true intentions hard to express.

But Snow White directly stated that she had never resented her, never hated her.

The more Snow White said this, the more guilty the Queen felt. Thinking about what she had turned Snow White into—a little housekeeping expert who could do anything.

One might think that's no big deal, but you have to remember this is a Princess. Everyone says a Princess's fingers shouldn't touch the spring water. But with this Princess, good heavens, she's a little housekeeping expert who can do anything—washing clothes, cooking, lighting fires, nothing is lacking.

At the end of the story, the Prince would inherit Snow White's Kingdom.

The Queen did not remain in the palace, but she maintained friendly contact with Snow White. When the Queen performed good deeds, this world always gave her the best rewards.

Many, many animals would become close to her. Her face would gradually become kinder, her personality gentler. Some innocent, well-behaved children would be more willing to get close to the Queen.

Most importantly, her aging seemed to become very slow. In the end, this reward was enough to make the Queen slowly forget her anxiety about her appearance.

If she didn't even look in the mirror day after day, how could she possibly suffer from appearance anxiety?

As for Beihai, he picked up Elsa and prepared to head to the next location—the depths of an ocean. To say how deep it was isn't entirely accurate either;

you could probably use some fishing nets to dredge it up, and perhaps fish up the magical Aladdin's Lamp.

There are many stories about the ocean too. Maybe you catch a fish, and after releasing it, it will repay your kindness and grant your wish.

So the sea is a wishing machine.

"Sir, sir, I want to go on the next adventure too."

Elsa was very dissatisfied with Beihai running off by himself but leaving her behind at the inn.

"The little mascot has developed a temper, huh? Fine, I'll take you next time."

Beihai didn't insist otherwise. Anyway, with his current strength, protecting a little girl during their movements was just a trivial matter.
