Duan Xin didn’t answer, he was indifferent, as there was nothing much to do at home anyway. He looked at Xiu Xi to see how he would decide.

Xiu Xi, in turn, looked at Ruan Jiaojiao.

Ruan Jiaojiao swallowed the last little piece of silverfish in her tiny paw, and seeing Xiu Xi looking at her, she said, “Meow meow meow.” Then let’s wait, this way we can go back with big brother in the evening.

Seeing that Ruan Jiaojiao was willing to wait, Xiu Xi nodded in agreement.

However, after Duan Qianyang and Duan Qirui left, Xiu Xi and Duan Xin didn’t continue playing basketball but started strolling around the school.

Though Duan Xin was chattering away the whole time, Xiu Xi didn’t respond at all. Yet, Duan Xin was still talking enthusiastically.

When they walked in front of the freshman teaching building, they happened to run into seven or eight other boys.

The boys were holding basketballs, talking loudly among themselves. As they were in the midst of their conversation, they noticed Jiang Xun, who was at the center of their group, suddenly change his expression. Following his line of sight, they saw Duan Xin and Xiu Xi.

The boys didn’t know Xiu Xi, but no one in the school didn’t know Duan Xin.

Even though he had stepped down in recent years, his name as the big boss was still quite renowned. Usually, when people saw him on the road, they’d call out “Brother Xin.”

Now, the group of teenagers saw him and, as usual, all called out “Brother Xin.”

Duan Xin, trying to maintain his composure in front of Xiu Xi, merely nodded slightly. Seeing the basketballs in their hands, he asked, “Going to play basketball?”

“Yeah, Brother Xin, do you want to join?” one of the boys warmly invited.

To study at Qing University’s affiliated school, one either had top-notch grades or a solid family background. Among this group of boys, several were outstanding in their own right.

But in terms of family background, they were still a notch below Duan Xin. Even the Jiang Family didn’t measure up to the Duan Family, especially considering there are very few families in the world that can produce someone like Duan Qianyang, so close to the center of power.

Now, having the chance to approach the Duan Family’s only “Crown Prince,” they naturally weren’t going to pass up the opportunity.

Duan Xin wasn’t in a hurry to answer and instead looked at Xiu Xi.

The boys only then seemed to notice Xiu Xi, and seeing his striking green eyes that were almost identical to the current head of the Duan Family, they were momentarily surprised. However, being clever, they quickly hid their surprise and acted as if they saw nothing, also inviting him to play basketball.

Holding Ruan Jiaojiao in his arms, Xiu Xi was just about to decline when Jiang Xun, who hadn’t spoken, said, “Join us.”

Xiu Xi looked at him and saw the challenge in his eyes. Squinting slightly, after a moment, he uttered a single word, “Okay.”

There were six boys with Jiang Xun. Adding Xiu Xi and Duan Xin made eight, but they were still short two people. One of Jiang Xun’s group ran off and soon returned with two more, making up the numbers. They divided into two teams by drawing lots.

As luck would have it, Jiang Xun and Xiu Xi ended up on opposing teams, while Duan Xin and Xiu Xi were on the same team.

These boys, at this age, carried a unique youthful energy and were quite good-looking. Standing together, they drew a lot of attention, at least from the only spectator, Ruan Jiaojiao, who was watching with interest.

However, she still believed the best-looking one was her Xiu brother!

Ruan Jiaojiao sat in her original spot, watching them play.

Over the years, she had watched her brothers play basketball quite a bit. Although she had never played herself, she understood the basic rules.
