Chapter 23: Alone With You

Kim:

Kim held onto Kit’s hand tightly as he got them out of the warehouse.

Outside there were several cars waiting; men stood on alert in black suits, guns drawn, ready to attack at any given moment. They were all his men. If P’First had thought that he’d come without backup, then he had been gravely mistaken.

But Kim hadn't wanted the situation to reach a bloodbath. So he had taken only a few with him inside the warehouse…a decision he was now regretting as he saw Kit turn back to look at his friend several times, until the doors to the warehouse were shut on his face.

“P’Kim…” Kit’s hand tightened on his, his head still turned towards the house still. “Ben…”

“Will our friend be alright?” Earth came forward to ask Kim, even though he was scared himself after watching all the bloodshed. “He’s not going to…P’First won’t…”

Earth tried to say the words but he wasn’t able to continue. He just couldn’t get the words past his throat.

“Let’s get out of here first.” Kim told the kids, guiding them to the large SUV that was parked only a few feet away from them. “There are his men everywhere. Let’s not have them think they still have the upper hand.”

Earth and Kit got into the back seat of the car, followed by Kim who took the passenger’s seat. And soon enough, all the cars were backing out of the driveway, getting away from the warehouse as fast as possible.

“P’First won’t kill your friend.” Kim confirmed once they were away from the warehouse and he saw the both boys turning around in their seat so they could keep on looking at the warehouse for as long as they could. “If anything, he would try to train him to do his dirty work…but he won’t kill him.”

“Why can’t we go back to save him?” Earth asked the man who looked so impassive at leaving their friend behind, that he couldn’t believe that he was the same man that Kit had described to them not long ago. “Why couldn’t we save him like you saved us? You shot someone didn’t you? You could’ve shot that P’First as well!”

“You’re still a child,” Kim told him, effectively shutting him up. “So I understand that kind of reasoning. The one I shot was a person as well, in case you had forgotten. And each and every member of our conglomerate is important to us. We may be the mafia, but our men are our family. We value loyalty over all.”

“If I had shot one, they would shoot back as well. And that wouldn’t have been the end of it. Even if I had managed to kill P’First, the others would have come after us to take revenge for their fallen leader. And soon enough…it would be a bloodbath. It wouldn’t end until only a few of us were left standing.”

Kim saw Earth swallow as he looked down in shame. Kit reached over to comfort his friend, and Kim found himself fisting his hands involuntarily, not caring that his injury still stung every time he flexed his fingers.

“Sire…where to?” Aawut asked from the driver’s seat, trying to break the tension inside the car.

“To the hospital.” Kim confirmed. “We need to check on the men who have been injured and we need to check on the boys as well.”

“But…we weren’t injured.” Kit tried to reason with P’Kim.

He felt terribly exhausted and worried. He didn’t think getting a checkup was necessary for either him or Earth, since the both of them were actually fine. As for the little cut on his neck…it was nothing a band-aid couldn’t fix.

“We need to check your blood as well.” Kim told them, trying his best not to scare the boys, especially Kit. “We don’t know if you have been injected with something just for the fun of it. A quick blood work won’t hurt that much. It’ll help confirm that the two of you are alright. It’s best not to worry your parents and guardians.”

Both Earth and Kit had turned pale as soon as they had heard Kim’s explanation, but for two very different reasons. Earth because he now felt scared if there was something wrong with him, and Kit because he couldn’t help but recall the night that he had been drugged by his former boss who he had once thought to be a nice person…and almost had been taken advantage of.

He looked up to the front of the car, at the rear-view mirror, and saw Kim looking back at him as well. He quickly averted his eyes from his stare…because after the horrible memories, came something else…something far more sensual.

He had spent the night with P’Kim after he had taken him to his condo and since then, the two of them have been bound together by some kind of unexplained relationship that neither of them could let go of.

“Sire…we’re here.”

P’Aawut’s voice broke Kit out of his thoughts and he realized that he had been so preoccupied with his thoughts that he hadn't noticed when they had reached the hospital. Instead of standing at the entrance however, they were at another door towards the side of the hospital, where he couldn’t spot any other cars.

“Let’s get the blood-work done as soon as possible.” P’Kim told them. “Once we get a clear result, we can all go home safely.”

Kit and Earth nodded and got out of the car immediately, where another guard was waiting to guide them inside the hospital. He looked back at P’Kim, but he only nodded at him, telling him that it was alright to follow the man, before he started to have a conversation with P’Aawut that he could no longer hear.

Once inside the hospital, they were taken to a tiny room at the end of a long hallway where a nurse was waiting to draw their blood. The blood work didn’t take much time and neither was it painful like he remembered it to be. It ended quickly and the nurse collected all their samples and told them to wait while another nurse would be here to take care of them shortly.

“Do you think Ben will be okay?” Earth asked Kit, voicing out his own worries.

“I don’t know.” Kit looked down at his arms, feeling like everything had happened because of him…if only he hadn't gone out of the mansion that night…if only he hadn't acted that stubborn and just stayed put…

“It’s not your fault.” Earth placed a hand on his shoulder, able to read his friend easily. “If anything…it’s all that psycho P’First’s fault! So don’t go blaming yourself for no reason.”

Kit forced a smile at his friend, but he couldn’t help but feel worried. After all, Ben was a part of their group. They had been practically inseparable!

“Hello there,” a middle aged woman entered the room then, carrying a tray full of medical supplies. “I heard that one of you got injured.”

Kit nodded slightly. He didn’t need to point towards his neck because the blood had dried on his neck, on his shirt, staining it a dark red, making the wound instantly visible.

“Don’t worry, it looks like a surface cut.” The nurse gave him a polite smile as she got a cotton swab ready with antiseptic. “This will sting a little.”

*

Three hours later, Kit found someone shaking him lightly as, waking him up from a light nap.

He woke up with a start, his eyes flying open to look around the unfamiliar room as he tried to remember exactly where he was. That was before his eyes landed on P’Kim standing over him with a soft smile on his face.

“Good evening.” He told Kit, helping him sit up. “Are you feeling better now?”

“P’Kim…what time is it?” Kit rubbed the sleep off of his eyes, remembering how he had fallen asleep when after they had received their treatment and the nurse had left them alone in the room. There had been two hospital beds in the room, and Earth and Kit had taken two of them. “Where’s Earth?”

“It’s almost ten at night.” Kim told him, running a hand through his hair lightly, making Kit go still. “Earth left an hour ago. One of my men had sent him home once his results came out clean.”

“He left already?” Kit looked around surprised. “Why didn’t he wait for me?”

“He didn’t want to make his family worried about him.” Kim said. “You can call him any time.”

“No…it’s fine.” Kit sighed, before he realized something. “P’Kanya?”

“She’s fine.” Kim gave him a small smile, continuing to brush Kit’s hair with feather-light fingers. “She’s at the mansion and she doesn’t know about the kidnapping. We made sure she was left unaware.”

Kit breathed a sigh of relief. He was incredibly grateful that P’Kim had done all that for him today. He owned him his life…he kept on getting P’Kim in trouble over and over again…

Speaking of…he took P’Kim’s free hand and brought it closer to his eyes for inspection. There was now a bandage wrapped around his palm, where the knife his sliced through him…and Kit brought his hand closer to his face…placing a kiss to the back of his palm, before he looked up at P’Kim with wide innocent eyes.

Kim’s fingers stopped stroking Kit’s hairs as soon as he saw the expression on Kit’s face. He felt his throat run dry. Goodness! Did the boy even know the effect he had on him?

“Kit…” he whispered, bringing his face closer to Kit’s.

He left a few inches between them, letting Kit make the next move. Anything he wanted to do to Kit could wait…until he got the answer he wanted. And Kit didn’t disappoint.

Closing the gap between them, Kit leaned forward to capture his lips, kissing him softly as his hands came up to grab onto Kim’s collar.

So Kim took the next step. Placing one hand at the back of his neck, Kim hauled Kit in for a rough, wild kiss, his lips moving on top of his to devour rather than to taste. Kit’s lips were soft, sweeter than honey; and the more he tasted him, the more he wanted to devour him…until his heartbeat was a tattoo against his chest, threatening to burst out of his ribcage at any given moment.

“P’Kim…” Kit gasped as they broke the kiss, out of breath and his own heart feeling like it was about to explode inside his chest.

“Come with me…” Kim whispered next to his ears, just as breathless, yet the hold on his nape was a bold band of possession. “I want to be alone with you tonight.”

At first he though Kit would say no…since the relationship between them was still unclear. However, instead, he got the answer he had always wanted.

“Yes.”
