Chapter 1489 - 1493: So It Was Him

Lin Fei lit a cigarette, exhaling white smoke. He was pondering whether to visit Ling Weiwei or Shen Peini for some fun.

In the end, Lin Fei decided to go tomorrow. After all, one should give equal attention to everyone, and there’s nothing wrong with changing things up once in a while.

By now, Mu Shanshan was well aware of Lin Fei’s misdeeds. She just didn’t mention them, since she understood that she alone couldn’t satisfy Lin Fei these days. So, she let him be.

The next day, Lin Fei received orders to accompany Xia Xue, along with the kids, to go shopping for clothes.

The reason for bringing the kids along was simply because it was the weekend.

Lin Fei took Keke, and Xia Xue took Lin An. Lin An, now four years old, was quite mischievous, and Lin Fei found managing him quite challenging. Fortunately, Keke was very sensible and kept Lin An in check, who in turn listened to Keke quite well.

The group arrived at the commercial district, each sporting a pair of sunglasses, looking incredibly cool. The primary reason being the fear of being recognized. Nowadays, everyone knew about Lin Fei’s status as Mu Shanshan’s husband. If he were spotted without sunglasses, they might not be able to leave.

Lin Fei followed Xia Xue into a clothing store. After trying on a few outfits, Xia Xue found none to her liking and turned to leave.

At this moment, Lin Fei, trailing behind, overheard the store owner disdainfully remark, "Coming here to show off without money, truly commendable of you!"

Lin Fei paused, and the store owner obviously noticed him, demanding, "What are you looking at? If you’re not buying, hurry and leave!"

Facing such treatment, Lin Fei merely chuckled, removed his sunglasses, shot a smile at the owner, then put his sunglasses back on and left, leaving the owner shocked and bewildered.

"Just now... how could it be! Oh no, I’m in trouble! It’s all my fault and my big mouth; I really deserve a beating!" The owner clearly recognized Lin Fei. It was widely rumored within the commercial circle that Mu Shanshan revamped the service industry.

It was said that Mu Shanshan had once eaten at a restaurant, where poor service led to everyone there being evicted from New City. They even got nothing out of it!

So, realizing they spoke to Lin Fei, the owner’s heart turned cold with dread!

Lin Fei didn’t think much of it. His face had long become a symbol. He merely intended to warn the owner, not expecting to frighten them so much, nearly causing them an accident.

Following Xia Xue, Lin Fei soon toured over a dozen clothing stores, finally selecting an outfit. Xia Xue then turned to Lin Fei and said, "Alright, it’s done!"

"You didn’t bring me along just to buy one outfit, did you?" Lin Fei was speechless. He felt Xia Xue could have easily bought it herself without dragging him and the kids along.

"It wasn’t me who asked you to come; it was Shanshan who asked you. So don’t blame me!" Xia Xue said with a smile.

Lin Fei was at a loss. What difference did it make? But it seemed he had no reason to continue, so...

"Don’t forget what Shanshan said, to accompany me to my dear home." Xia Xue’s voice chimed in Lin Fei’s mind at an inappropriate moment, making Lin Fei sweat and leave him speechless.

"What’s wrong? Honey, are you tired? You didn’t seem tired last night, so full of energy that you almost shook the house down," Xia Xue mumbled.

Lin Fei was speechless. Apparently last night, Xia Mei or Mu Shanshan didn’t hold back their voices, explaining Xia Xue’s teasing. However, to Lin Fei, Xia Xue seemed more like she was complaining rather than teasing.

"Alright, alright, I’ll go with you. The kids will come too. It’ll be nice for your dad to see them." Lin Fei said as he headed towards the Xia Family’s territory with Xia Xue and the kids.

Nowadays, Xia Jiahe had voluntarily relinquished the floors of the Heavenly Court building, now entirely occupied by the Mu Group. Moreover, the Xia Family’s business had changed significantly, booming with the Mu Group’s support, becoming much stronger than before.

Lin Fei and the group arrived at the office to see Xia Jiahe and Xia Bingzhong. Xia Jiahe was reporting work while Xia Bingzhong was intently reading documents. Suddenly noticing Lin Fei and his companions, they were surprised and delighted.

"Lin Fei, what brings you here? Is there something going on?" Xia Jiahe asked. He already knew about Lin Fei’s dealings with the Pang Family and was astonished by Lin Fei’s prowess. Even an Ancient Martial family seemed like a small and powerless family in Lin Fei’s hands, unable to resist.

"Dad, how could you? If it weren’t for me, Lin Fei wouldn’t be here. You didn’t even notice me, only cared about Lin Fei," Xia Xue pouted, displeased.

Xia Jiahe chuckled, "Who said I didn’t see my dear daughter? Come here and let dad see if you’ve gotten chubby." Indeed, Xia Jiahe hadn’t seen Xia Xue at first glance.

"Dad, if you keep saying that, I’ll leave. Do I really look that chubby?" Xia Xue lamented, not believing it.

Lin Fei laughed, never expecting Xia Jiahe to be so articulate, teasing his daughter about her weight.

"Living with Lin Fei, eating and drinking well, can you not gain a bit? Anyway, my dear daughter, what brings you here today?"

"Can’t I come without a reason? Dad, you’re breaking my heart!" Xia Xue lamented, as if on the verge of tears, leaving Xia Jiahe helplessly shaking his head.

"No way, I’m just saying you looked busy. Besides, seeing each of you achieving success with such a big company makes me proud." Xia Jiahe expressed his true feelings, proud of his daughters’ achievements. However, he was also aware that talented horses are common, while a discerning eye is rare.

Therefore, Xia Jiahe was grateful to Mu Shanshan.

"What you mentioned is all thanks to Shanshan. I didn’t contribute much," Xia Xue said, feeling shy while also acknowledging that she hadn’t been entirely unhelpful.

Xia Jiahe chuckled without replying. At this point, Xia Xue finally addressed the main issue, "Dad, didn’t you ask why I came today? I just want to discuss a business deal with you."

"A business deal? What kind of business? And you’re sighing about doing business with your dad?"
