The King of Urban Mercenaries

Chapter 1483 - 1487: Heading to Purple Mountain

Chapter 1483 - 1487: Heading to Purple Mountain

"The infiltrated personnel must be cautious at every step because it’s not easy to get out from the inside, which is why I delayed in reporting this matter to Brother Lin Fei immediately," Zhang Qiheng explained.

"Understood. By the way, I remember you mentioned wanting to overthrow Zhang Dadao and Zhang Dabao? How are the preparations going?"

Hearing Lin Fei’s words, Zhang Qiheng paused before speaking, "To be honest, Brother Lin Fei, I’ve given up. They have too many people, and many of them are experts. Moreover, I heard there is a Great Elder in Purple Mountain who was close to the previous Sect Leader of the Purple Mountain Sect. I see no hope, so I gave up..."

Lin Fei understood; Zhang Qiheng had given up because he underestimated Zhang Dabao and the others’ strength, and now, realizing the truth, he immediately wanted to abandon the plan.

"Zhang Qiheng, gather your men and get ready; I’m heading to Purple Mountain to help you. The fact that Zhang Dabao and Zhang Dadao dare to threaten me means they’ve eaten the heart of a lion!"

After speaking, before Zhang Qiheng could respond, Lin Fei had already hung up. However, he was determined to make a trip to Purple Mountain to resolve this issue, and although he owed Master Zhang Hu, he wouldn’t let Zhang Dadao and Zhang Dabao wreak havoc.

"Boss, what exactly is going on?" Radar and the others asked.

Lin Fei looked at his brothers, "This is a complicated matter. To put it simply, it has escalated to the level of the Ancient Martial World, so you can’t get involved."

The three showed expressions of regret, suddenly feeling that even though Lin Fei still regarded them as brothers, they were no longer able to help him.

At this point, Radar was the first to snap out of his disappointment and smiled, "Boss, we understand. We’ll first head back to deal with the Mercenary Group’s matters, and then we’ll reunite with you, okay?"

"That’s also good."

Although Lin Fei didn’t want to say this, there was no other choice. Ordinary people couldn’t interfere in Ancient Martial matters; one punch could kill a normal person. He couldn’t bear to let his brothers come with him and take risks.

Since it was decided, Lin Fei didn’t delay any longer. He settled the women, reassuring them not to worry, and at dawn, he sent his brothers off from Zhonghai to Trackless City.

After that, Lin Fei headed to Purple Mountain alone.

After more than half a day’s travel, Lin Fei arrived at the foot of Purple Mountain. Originally open to tourists, Purple Mountain was now completely closed, with several disciples of the Purple Mountain Sect guarding the entrance, not allowing anyone to pass.

As soon as Lin Fei arrived, the disciples stopped him.

"Stop! Who are you? Unauthorized personnel are not allowed here!" the leading disciple dutifully stopped Lin Fei.

Lin Fei smiled, "I was invited by your Sect Leader. Are you still going to stop me?"

"Invited by our Sect Leader?"

The two were puzzled. Usually, if a guest were expected, there would be prior notice, but today, there seemed to be no notification at all.

"What’s wrong? Do you doubt my identity? I’m from the Beidou Sect, a disciple of the Dou Sect Master. Lead the way!" Lin Fei said to the two fronting him, thinking they must be new disciples of the Purple Mountain Sect, as they were so easily deceived.

"Alright then, come with me. Junior Brother, continue to watch here," one disciple said to the other before leading Lin Fei up the mountain.

Midway, Lin Fei called Zhang Qiheng.

"Zhang Qiheng, where are you? I’m already halfway up the mountain. Aren’t you coming to meet me?"

Without noticing, when Lin Fei mentioned Zhang Qiheng’s name, the disciple’s demeanor changed, and he turned around, "Who are you exactly?! Why are you in contact with a traitor of our Purple Mountain?!"

"Traitor? Zhang Qiheng is a traitor? Then where is he now?" Lin Fei asked.

"Zhang Qiheng, the traitor, has been expelled by our Sect Leader! He’s left the mountain; who are you? You’re not really here to see our Sect Leader, are you? Speak honestly, or I’ll not be polite!"

The disciple exclaimed emotionally at Lin Fei, pointing his sword at Lin Fei. Lin Fei stood below, and Weiwei looked up at the disciple, "Do you dare to attack me? If you’re not afraid of death, go ahead and try."

The disciple’s expression wavered. He was merely a new disciple who barely knew martial arts and quickly became overwhelmed by Lin Fei’s aura.

"If you don’t step aside and speak, I’ll take action."

After speaking, Lin Fei took a step forward, seized the disciple’s neck, and punched him in the stomach, then placed him on the edge of the staircase.

Just as Lin Fei was continuing up the mountain, a cry came from behind, and Lin Fei turned to see a group of people running towards him, led by Zhang Qiheng.

"Zhang Qiheng, you’ve really done it this time, and you’re in such a poor state. What a disappointment," Lin Fei teased.

Zhang Qiheng showed an embarrassed expression, "Brother Lin Fei, to be honest, I had no choice. As a powerless novice, how could I control so many matters? It was good enough to leave Purple Mountain safely."

Lin Fei shook his head, "The fact that you’ve adopted this mindset is impressive. From your initial impulsivity and stubbornness to today’s maturity, you’ve achieved self-transformation; your future is limitless."

When Lin Fei first met Zhang Qiheng, he was a reckless and obstinate guy, even if he hid it well. Lin Fei could see it, which is why he didn’t involve Zhang Qiheng in major Purple Mountain matters.

Seeing Zhang Qiheng again today, his evident change filled Lin Fei with goodwill. At least there was no longer an uneasy feeling; Zhang Qiheng had become someone Lin Fei could trust.

Therefore, Lin Fei was willing to help Zhang Qiheng return to the Purple Mountain Sect and even potentially become its Sect Leader.

"Brother Lin Fei, let’s retreat and devise a plan. After all, this is no small matter; they have many people and many experts, so we should pull back," Zhang Qiheng suggested, considering safety.

However, Lin Fei didn’t want to forfeit this opportunity, as chances like this are rare, and he didn’t want his family to be endangered. Delaying could lead to a more severe loss, so Lin Fei didn’t leave.
