The King of Black Fog

Chapter 1318 579: Life Vine (Part 3)

Chapter 1318 579: Life Vine (Part 3)

"Woo woo~" They emitted a ghostly ethereal sound.

The strongest on the entire planet were merely spirits; the former Heavenly Position had gone to the Holy City and perished in battle.

"Must we kill them?" Li Changzhou didn't act immediately.

"Woo——" All the Ghost Fog Spirits on the planet pleaded in unison.

"Hmm?" Turquoise Pool, covered in red battle armor, suddenly looked up at the sky; the inescapable gravity had vanished.

"Let's go." Li Changzhou transformed into light and rushed back to the scene.

The two returned to the main stem.

"At this rate, we have no chance at this Saint Position, not just this one; the sixth, even the seventh, we might not be able to catch up," remarked Turquoise Pool.

There are twelve Saint Positions in total; falling behind by one step might mean no chance at all.

"If we were still four, and no one became a Saint, I wouldn't hesitate. If not becoming a Saint means death for us, but now... let them go if we can."

Turquoise Pool was ambivalent; kill or not, either way was fine. Since Li Changzhou decided not to kill, she had no objections.

The two continued onward.

Fortunately, all beings were already frightened by killing; seeing the two descend, the creatures of the entire Life Star submitted without wasting much time.

"The fifth Holy Temple, could it be that only those recognized by the cosmos have the right to enter?" guessed Turquoise Pool.

"That 'recognition' method is too bloody."

Then——

"We absolutely do not recognize it!"

"The creatures on the Holy Road are not fit to become Saints! We don't need Saints!"

An extremely democratic civilization, more than half would rather die than submit.

The Governor wiped his sweat and explained to the two: "We oppose the value game, oppose the Heavenly Will, oppose the Great Way, not you two."

"Not opposing us, but you're hindering us," said Li Changzhou.

"We're negotiating, negotiating! The public will understand. Letting someone like you become a Saint is beneficial for the peace and stability of the universe, not harmful. Continuing to obstruct will only aid the wicked."

Li Changzhou thought for a moment and said, "Go on."

Turquoise Pool crossed her arms, the fingertips wrapped in battle armor tapping the Heaven's Will Battle Armor on her arm: "Three minutes have passed."

The gravity had not yet disappeared.

Li Changzhou flashed into the Governor's office, where the Governor was wiping sweat while video-calling with the protesting crowd, trying to persuade them.

"Can it be done?" asked Li Changzhou.

"Almost there, almost, there are protests in three hundred and twenty cities; in just three minutes, eight have agreed to stop."

Li Changzhou sighed.

"Tell them, I give them one minute to consider."

This sentence was spread to the entire planet through the image.

"Is he threatening us? Let me tell you, we're not afraid of death, bring it on!"

"The King of Black Fog is no good, either. If he becomes a Saint, cosmic civilization has no future!"

"Kill us, then; you demons will face retribution sooner or later!"

Li Changzhou appeared among the clouds.

Turquoise Pool said, "Act?"

"Yes, I'll do it."

"Let me handle it; I have no psychological burden." Turquoise Pool reached out to grab.

The star shrank into a particle, suspended between her index finger and thumb, a strand of Thunder gently pierced through, and the tiny dust particle vanished.

"There's no need to dwell on it," Turquoise Pool clapped her hands. "If such a civilization allows those with cruel hearts to become Saints, it will still be doomed in the end, perhaps even a fate worse than death. As for you becoming a Saint, similar civilizations in the universe can be preserved."

"I have no grudges; it's just life has too many helpless moments. One must be strong enough to protect those around them."

As they spoke, the two were once again caught by a leaf.

The effect of taking action once was evident; on this planet, there were also those willing to die rather than submit. It was unclear whether they truly had no fear or if they just hadn't faced death directly yet.

The ruler acted directly, suppressing those who refused to comply.

The ruler wouldn't hold grudges, either; for him, the choice was always the same: to protect more people, even if it meant staining his hands with blood.

Even so, Li Changzhou and Turquoise Pool were still slow.

Nearly ten thousand peerless powerhouses transformed into streaks of light, shuttling rapidly between the leaves and the main stem, like nerve signals being transmitted in the brain.

Amazingly fast, leaving behind withered leaves in their wake.

There were many leaves, but they didn't need to enter every single one; most Life Stars were unvisited by peerless powerhouses, safely passing through this crisis.

The Earth wasn't included.

But the Queen Mother made her move.

The fourth Holy Temple to the fifth, the only dead was killed by her.

By the time Li Changzhou and Turquoise Pool rushed into the fifth Holy Temple, the main hall and both vice halls had disappeared, and the passage to the sixth Holy Temple was opened.

One after another, more powerhouses continued to arrive.

For peerless powerhouses, other than Earth, there's no threat in the present world; arriving so late, there's only one reason: they held back, just like Li Changzhou and Turquoise Pool.

The Crown Princess also "arrived late."

"Seems we have common ground," said the Crown Princess with a charming smile. "We three latecomers, shall we team up for mutual support?"
