Chapter 455 - 423: My Love for You
Chapter 455 - 423: My Love for You
"What? Don’t recognize me?"Chu Zhengran said from the bed.
All the treatment and medication at the hospital were the best, and his injuries were healing well, though he still couldn’t move much for the time being.
The head of the bed was raised slightly, propping up his upper body a bit, as he looked at Qin Xia.
Qin Xia stared at him steadily, without speaking or moving.
Chu Zhengran smiled again, slowly raised his right hand, and extended it toward her, saying, "Come here."
Qin Xia glanced at his hand, froze for two seconds, then walked over to him.
Chu Zhengran placed his hand on the bed, turned his head to look at Qin Xia, and said, "Sit."
Qin Xia sat down on the chair beside the bed like a robot receiving a command.
Chu Zhengran looked at her carefully.
Qin Xia was so thin that she looked different.
She had tied her hair into a low ponytail, with some loose strands on her forehead, wearing a tracksuit. The clothes that used to fit her well now appeared a bit loose.
Chu Zhengran could only see the word "haggard" on her face.
He looked at her.
Qin Xia looked at him too.
They stared at each other for a long while. Chu Zhengran moved his hand slightly, palm up, indicating Qin Xia to place her hand on it.
Qin Xia followed his gaze and looked at his hand.
She continued to look at his hand, not moving.
Chu Zhengran said again, "When I was unconscious, you held it every day. Why not hold it now that I’m awake?"
Qin Xia’s eyelashes fluttered twice, and she slowly raised her hand, placing it in his palm.
Chu Zhengran immediately held her hand tightly in his.
Qin Xia felt the warmth of his hand, the grip of his return.
It was as if it pulled her out of some illusion, making her feel reality.
Chu Zhengran was really awake.
Every time she placed her hand in his, she hoped he would grasp it.
Now he truly held it.
Qin Xia’s eyes ached from the swelling.
She blinked her eyes, and used her other hand to hold his hand, carefully grasping it.
Chu Zhengran looked at her lowered eyelashes with a blank look, yet there was a trace of excitement and happiness, "Qin Xia, you’ve lost weight."
This sentence seemed to trigger a switch in Qin Xia’s emotions.
Suddenly, Qin Xia couldn’t control herself, leaning over the bed, tightly holding Chu Zhengran’s hand while crying.
At first, it was a very small repressed sound, and gradually, the sound grew louder and louder.
Chu Zhengran really wanted to pat her head, but one hand was held by her, and he couldn’t lift the other.
Tears slid down from the corner of his eyes, as he listened to Qin Xia’s sobs, he said, "Alright, don’t cry."
Qin Xia continued to cry as if she couldn’t hear him.
The more she cried, the worse it became, gasping for air through her sobs, her shoulders trembling continuously.
"Qin Xia. It’s okay now. I’m awake," Chu Zhengran held her hand and said, "don’t cry."
Qin Xia still didn’t pay him any mind.
Chu Zhengran blinked his moist eyes, trying hard to sit up, but failed. He sighed in his heart, saying, "Alright. Crying more doesn’t look good."
Qin Xia still ignored him.
"Qin Xia," Chu Zhengran said, "the doctor said everything’s fine once I wake up. Stop crying."
"Idiot, big idiot," Qin Xia said between sobs, "is your body made of steel? You went to block a truck."
"Okay. I’m an idiot," Chu Zhengran’s eyes grew redder, and his voice became hoarse, "I was just anxious. Anyway, I was going to use the car to block it."
"With such a huge impact force, can you block it?" Qin Xia cried, struggling to speak.
"Alright. Stop crying," Chu Zhengran said.
Qin Xia cried for a while longer, her voice gradually lowering, and said aggrievedly, "Why did it take so long to wake up? You’ve been asleep for so long, why only now?"
"My fault, made you worry," Chu Zhengran said.
Qin Xia stopped speaking, leaned over the bed, burying her head, and cried for a while until her emotions gradually stabilized.
She randomly wiped her face and sat upright, looking at Chu Zhengran.
Chu Zhengran’s eyes were red, yet still filled with warmth. He released her hand, wiped away her tears, and said, "Don’t actors have to take classes on emotion management?"
"None of your business," Qin Xia glared at him, pulled two tissues to wipe her tears.
Then pulled two more tissues, blowing her nose without caring about her image.
Chu Zhengran watched her.
Qin Xia glanced at him again and said, "What?"
"Nothing," Chu Zhengran said with a smile.
Qin Xia sniffed, holding his hand, without speaking again.
Because she had cried so hard just now, she still couldn’t completely control herself, occasionally sobbing.
Chu Zhengran held her hand, his thumb rubbing against her hand’s back. After she felt a bit better, he said, "Why is it that once I wake up, you’re so much quieter? When I was unconscious, you talked like you were chattering every day."
"You’re the chatterbox," Qin Xia said, then added, "You could hear?"
"Yeah," Chu Zhengran replied.
"Then why didn’t you wake up?" Qin Xia asked.
"Well, isn’t it that I’m awake now?" Chu Zhengran responded.
"I heard it was Gu Yanjing who woke you up," Qin Xia said.
Chu Zhengran sighed lightly, saying, "She said you were going to be taken away by Xiao Zhe. How could I not wake up?"
"Why would Xiao Zhe take me away?" Qin Xia asked.
Hearing her words, Chu Zhengran smiled and said, "You wouldn’t leave, but with Xiao Zhe coming over, I felt my position was threatened."
Qin Xia frowned slightly and asked, "Did Xiao Zhe come? When did he come?"
"You didn’t know?" Chu Zhengran asked.
"I didn’t know," Qin Xia responded honestly.
Chu Zhengran: "......"
Qin Xia looked at him.
After a few seconds, Chu Zhengran ground his teeth, "Gu Yanjing, that black-hearted guy. Once I can move, the first thing I’ll do is silence him."
"Thank him first," Qin Xia said.
"After courtesy comes the army?" Chu Zhengran asked.
Qin Xia was speechless and didn’t want to pay him any mind.
Chu Zhengran chuckled, raised his hand to touch her face, "Alright. Thank him."
...
After Chu Zhengran woke up, the heavy stone on everyone’s heart fell to the ground, and life became much more relaxed.
Lin Huai Shu even suggested celebrating Chu Zhengran’s awakening.
So to accommodate Chu Zhengran’s inconvenience,
he decided to hold the gathering in Chu Zhengran’s ward.
He even went ahead and decorated it a bit.
Chu Zhengran lay on the bed, while Qin Xia massaged his arm.
The two of them watched as Lin Huai Shu, along with his assistant, and Qiao Lech decorated the ward.
After a while, Chu Zhengran said, "Didn’t the doctor tell me to rest quietly?"
"No," Qin Xia replied.
Chu Zhengran: "... Push me to talk to the doctor. I need to rest quietly."
"Do you want to push the bed?" Qin Xia asked.
Chu Zhengran: "......"
Qin Xia said, "After a while, you’ll have to start rehabilitation training. Quiet rest doesn’t suit you."
Chu Zhengran looked at her.
Qin Xia said, "Isn’t some liveliness a good thing?"
"But... why did he bring so much alcohol and so many things I can’t eat here? To tempt me?" Chu Zhengran said, getting a bit more agitated, "And those two tea cakes. He took them from my house. What does it mean to hang them right in front of me? I can’t drink them, and he’s framing them for me to look at?"
Qin Xia followed his gaze and glanced over, then said, "Um... that is Lin Huai Shu’s love for you."
Chu Zhengran looked at her with shock and a hint of disdain, "What did you say?"
"Love," Qin Xia said the word particularly profoundly.
Chu Zhengran: "......"
