The Headline Queen: President Hawthorne is Her Die-Hard Fan!

Chapter 479: I Recognized You

Chapter 479: I Recognized You

He, just like Alisa, was convinced that Paige Sterling was nothing but a worthless waste, not worth any concern. So when he acted, he never expected Paige Sterling could escape.

But now, Paige Sterling is alive and knows it was he who wanted to kill her.

Now, Paige Sterling can’t be allowed to live.

If the car accident didn’t kill her, then as her husband, he would personally end this woman’s life.

Because he hadn’t seen Wayne Wright, Julian Hawthorne instinctively assumed that Wayne must have run into trouble.

He’s a man; how hard could it be to deal with a woman?

But as soon as he got close to Paige, she kicked him flying, "I’ve warned you, acknowledge my abilities; why do you always subconsciously ignore it, Julian..."

Paige paused, frowning, "I can’t call you Julian because you’re not Julian."

Julian’s eyes widened, "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Paige walked closer with a smile, "From the beginning, I knew you weren’t Julian. How could I not know what my partner is like? These days, you thought you were successful, that you had fooled me, right? In fact, I was just playing with you. As for the Hawthorne Family, did you ever wonder why you were kicked out of the Hawthorne Group? Do you really think the old man could bear to give up a successor he had groomed for years? It’s simply because they knew you weren’t the real Julian. Seeing you all smug, thinking you had fooled everyone, I found it amusing..."

Julian’s face twisted with rage.

After all, he thought he had become a winner in life, having everything.

But now, upon discovering by chance, it was all just an illusion; he remained himself, never able to become Julian.

"I’ll kill you! Everyone who knows this, I’ll kill them all!"

He suddenly leaped up and lunged at Paige.

Paige stepped back, and he thought she was scared, revealing a sinister smile.

"Paige, I underestimated you before; you truly shouldn’t exist in this world."

Paige raised an eyebrow as he said sinisterly, "But don’t blame me; blame yourself. If you hadn’t figured it out, if you had obediently handed Penson to me, none of this would have happened. Once you reach the Underworld, reunite with your good husband."

With that, he lunged at Paige.

Paige sidestepped and dodged.

Julian tried to get up again to strangle Paige, only to find he couldn’t rise, as his limbs were being pinned to the ground.

Turning his head, he saw a group of men in camouflage had surrounded him, and several of them were holding him down.

These were...

His body broke out in cold sweat, realizing he was finished.

"What are you doing? Let go of me!"

"Suspected of attempting to harm Professor Sterling, of course, we’re taking you in for questioning."

"I didn’t!" Julian denied, "She’s my wife, how could I harm her? I saw her in an accident and came to save her! Paige, quickly explain to them, I’m your husband!"

Paige laughed, "You’re not my husband."

"Professor Sterling, leave this person to us; rest assured."

Paige nodded and only noticed after getting in the car that Wayne Wright wasn’t driving.

She asked, "Where’s Wayne?"

"Professor Sterling, Wayne has some matters to attend to, rest assured, he’ll be back on duty soon."

Paige nodded and went home reassured.

And Wayne went to see the fake Julian, who had already torn off that false skin on his face.

The fake Julian was still shouting that he was Julian, part of the Hawthorne Family, "I am Julian! You can’t treat me like this! My grandfather won’t let you off!"

Someone sneered, "If you’re Julian, then who is he?"

The fake Julian looked in the direction the person pointed, seeing...a man who looked exactly like him.

No, it wasn’t that the man looked like him; it was he who looked like that man.

That was the real Julian!

Even if their features were similar, their demeanor was entirely different.

When the real Julian was absent, it was possible to deceive people; but when the real Julian appeared, this fake was completely overshadowed.

"How are you still alive? Weren’t you dead?"

"Sorry, but Mr. Hawthorne is alive and well, sorry to disappoint you."

The fake Julian sat blankly in the chair, "How could this be? If he wasn’t dead, then why would I become Julian?"

He suddenly looked at the group before him, "It’s you! You’re the ones who made me into Julian, aren’t you? You can’t treat me this way, can’t burn the bridge after crossing!"

Someone chuckled, "Since you want to know, let’s let you die understanding."

When Julian returned to the Sterling Family, he had become Wayne Wright again.

He couldn’t resume his previous identity yet.

Nanny Sutton had made soup, and he brought the soup up from the kitchen, ladling it from the pot into a bowl and handing it to Paige.

Paige, looking wearied, glanced at it, "I’m too shaken, don’t have an appetite."

But her eyes clearly gazed eagerly at Julian, looking as if she really wanted to drink it.

Julian chuckled, and that smile on his face looked a bit peculiar.

But Paige wasn’t frightened at all.

Julian took a spoon and fed her, spoonful by spoonful; Paige ended up drinking two big bowls.

After finishing, she asked Julian, "Was there something added to the soup? What does it do?"

Julian hadn’t replied when Paige pressed her chest, "I feel a swelling in my chest; isn’t it for enhancing the bust?"

Julian’s eyes involuntarily followed her motion, landing on her chest.

He felt a bit parched, "Stop joking, it’s just for nourishment."

His voice was somewhat hoarse.

Paige smiled, "Powerful Man, come here."

She called him Powerful Man with a face full of mischief.

Even knowing the risk, Julian moved closer, only to be pulled over by Paige.

Paige flipped herself atop him, "You sure can endure, huh? I thought you were some ninja turtle."

Julian, "Stop it."

"You’re still pretending?" Paige grinned broadly, "I recognized you the second day you showed up by my side."

Julian didn’t know whether to be happy or not; there was nothing left to pretend, "And you kept doing those things to rile me up intentionally?"

During his time by her side, she had done plenty to anger him.

"Who told you to even try to deceive me?"

Paige huffed coldly, though her eyes were slightly red.

Julian’s heart immediately softened, and he sighed, sitting up and hugging her to him, kissing her eye, "I was wrong. Take a nap; when you wake up, I’ll tell you everything, okay?"

Paige did feel a bit tired, and under Julian’s comforting, she soon closed her eyes, falling into a deep sleep.

But she held Julian tightly, as if afraid he’d disappear if she relaxed.

Julian gazed at her tenderly; he missed her just as much as she missed him.

When Paige wasn’t around, he missed her; when she was by his side, he still missed her.
