Chapter 118: Combat Training
Chapter 118: Combat Training
The summer sun of Saint-Nazareth could simply be evaluated with the two words: sinister and ruthless.
If there was rain on past days, there would be countless clouds floating in midair, shielding the people living underneath from that scorching sunlight. But as luck would have it, on this day when Fisher began training, there was no such treatment. Thus, that completely unshielded sunlight directly pierced onto his skin which already felt heavy.
Under the sunlight, drop after drop of sweat twisted downwards along the contours of his muscles. Somewhat unbearably he frowned. Both hands extremely forcefully gripped the line woven from hemp rope in his hands; tied behind the line were many items from the stable previously that looked heavy, such as stone mills, wooden troughs, and other items.
Fisher dragged these things in circles in the courtyard. The demon magic on his body remained continuously lit, making his body emit wails of grief.
But the Eliog lying on the roof of the stable didn't have the slightest bit of sympathy. She even cast a somewhat dissatisfied glance at the state of Fisher's body,
"Speed, speed must also be raised up; otherwise wouldn't the deceleration effect in the magic be useless right?"
Fisher didn't utter a single sound, silently doing his utmost to drag the items behind him and strenuously advance forward. The sturdy muscles on his body also bulged into shapes along with his exertion. He maintained this speed and dragged for a good several laps again, and only then dropped the hemp rope in his hands onto the ground, gasping for breath while rubbing his own shoulders.
As drops of sweat fell, Fisher felt exceedingly hot and dry. A kind of pent-up, thoroughly joyless sullen sensation surged into his heart, making him feel exceedingly scorching hot.
Eliog stroked her chin sizing Fisher up, evidently having noticed his situation. But she didn't open her mouth first, instead stroking her chin and pointing outside saying,
"More or less go over there to exercise a bit again right. You should be feeling your body is quite painful right now. Next, you need to completely exhaust your stamina. The first time's training volume is slightly larger, mainly because your body has been slumbering for too long, needing a bit of fierce power to rouse it awake. Later on the volume can be slightly reduced a bit; cooperating together with my magic, the effect looks to be still quite not bad.""Is running fine?"
Fisher lifted his arm, stretching his fingers a bit. All five fingers were slightly trembling. A burst of extremely aching sensation surged up. Although his body was quite uncomfortable, his stamina however wasn't exhausted. He pondered for a bit; it seemed the best method to exhaust stamina was running.
"It works, you can go then. Come back when you more or less can't run anymore."
Eliog nonchalantly nodded, not wanting to move once she lay down. The sunlight that was exceedingly scorching to humans seemingly suited her just perfectly. Merely that the sunlight was somewhat too glaring; thereupon she used her tail as a sleeping mask, covering her own eyes up, and then lay down comfortably to start sleeping.
Fisher cast a glance at her, pushing open the door leaf and inhaling a breath toward the suburban wilderness outside, and then rapidly sprinting out wildly. Between inhalations and exhalations, even with the demon's loading magic on his body, his speed was still bizarrely fast. He didn't wear shoes, afraid of stepping and ruining his scarce few pairs of leather shoes; right now he only wore a pair of black suit pants on his body.
While adjusting his breathing Fisher sprinted wildly. The beads of sweat on his body also rapidly slid down amidst his movement, landing on the soil of the suburbs, smashing a currently crawling scarab beetle to flip over.
His route was also roughly circling around his own laboratory, however slightly deviating toward the Saint-Nazareth University side a bit. This avoided running toward the other direction and reaching the Royal Mausoleum side; if he were to accidentally be caught as a lawbreaker, it would be hard to handle.
His speed was very fast. Very quickly the white building of the "Southern Continent Demi-Human Protection Association" appeared in his gaze. He looked toward the direction of the building, exactly seeing that Centaur Race Xi Yate wearing a skirt holding a watering can outside the building, watering the vegetables she raised.
Fisher thereupon paused his sprinting footsteps, walking to the outside of the enclosing wall.
"Ah, Mr. Fisher. Hey what are you doing here, why aren't you wearing clothes?"
Xi Yate subconsciously greeted, yet saw Fisher's tension-filled muscles hanging with some sweat. Her face slightly reddened as she blocked her own line of sight with the watering can, yet secretly poked an eye out from behind the watering can, retorting toward the Fisher before her eyes.
"I am currently exercising... I came over twice previously but you weren't here. Was it because you went out for New Party matters?"
"Ah, yes. The midterm elections are about to arrive soon right. Moreover I heard recently they are currently busy with other matters; it seems another nation of you humans is just about to visit. They won't be able to do public speaking when they visit, so recent public speaking activities have been scheduled very frequently."
Xi Yate put down the watering can, explaining like so toward Fisher,
"Once the visit concludes, the general election voting will commence. Recently I accompanied them running off to other cities; only just returned today."
"So it's like this; it's good that you don't have any issues. I'll come over again later on then."
Fisher nodded. This sentence however made Xi Yate shyly cast a glance at him, and then looking at the fields outside suddenly proposed,
"Hey, how about you wait for me... I also haven't gone running in a long time. Since you're exercising let me join together as well."
"You? If you accidentally run too fast I won't be able to keep up."
Fisher cast a glance at the four legs beneath her body, and again looked at his own two legs. It seemed solely relying on quantity he alone wouldn't be the opponent of this centaur young girl before his eyes right?
She had instead already put down the watering can, turning around preparing to return into her own building. Turning her head back she smiled toward Fisher,
"Set your heart at ease. I will maintain the same speed as you. Wait for me a bit, I'll change clothes."
Fisher also nodded. Having waited outside for not long, Xi Yate then walked out from inside the building.
He merely saw her long head of hair tied into an upturned high ponytail. This hairstyle looked somewhat eccentric from a human's point of view; Fisher probably hadn't seen this kind of hairstyle over here on the West Continent side. The skirt outfit on her body was also changed into a simpler and plainer shape, looking like the attire from within her tribe.
The focal point of this set of clothing lied in the portion on her horse body. Although it lacked the intricate aesthetic sense of the Naris style there, it was extremely suitable for her non-human parts. Merely seeing light and buoyant fabric plastered onto her body; while covering certain positions it also didn't affect her running actions. One look and one knew it was specially made for the Centaur Race who inherently loved to run.
"Let's go."
Without breaking a sweat, she leaped out from the enclosing wall and walked to Fisher's side. Her four horse hooves raised up a bit, seemingly currently doing preparatory exercises prior to running.
Fisher nodded, adjusting his breathing a bit, yet as if suddenly recalling something, asked,
"It's no problem for you to go out with me right?"
"What's the problem? Anyway they also only care about me when they need to use me."
Xi Yate nonchalantly twisted her own body, and then gazed focusedly ahead. After obtaining her answer, Fisher also no longer cared, running out from beside the white building together with her.
Compared to centaurs, the running speed of humans indeed couldn't be ranked up there. Although Fisher also had the demon's weight-bearing magic on his body, solely this speed could only be termed jogging for Xi Yate. Waiting until later when Xi Yate slightly raised her speed a bit, Fisher then felt it was extremely difficult to keep up with her.
She was merely seen elegantly placing her hands by her sides. Her human upper body also inclined slightly, seemingly as if this better conformed to the pattern of their running.
Following her to run for another good several laps, when Fisher was truly exhausted to the point of collapse, he leaned beneath the shade of a tree to rest for a short while.
"Mr. Fisher. Wanted to ask since just now, what is that bright shining light on your body ah?"
"It's a magic used for weight-bearing exercise."
Watching Fisher leaning beneath the tree shade with his entire body covered in sweat, Xi Yate leaped into the building and retrieved a towel for him. Saying they were sent over by the New Party; she hadn't used a single one before, so she'd give this one to Fisher.
After Fisher thanked her, he used the towel to wipe the beads of sweat on his body, explaining to her a bit that he was currently exercising, this being a loading magic on his body.
Hearing this she amazingly covered her mouth, saying,
"Ah, if Mr. Fisher can still run this fast having a load, then wouldn't you be able to run even faster having no load? Are you truly human, rather than a Dragon-kin hiding as a human or something?"
Mm, it seemed that in the Southern Continent, the matter of Dragon-kins' physical constitution being very high was basically known by all species groups ah.
Fisher smilingly shook his head, holding the towel and standing his body up,
"Alright, I'll more or less exercise up to here for today. I need to go back and wash my body a bit. The next time I exercise we can be together again, if you have time."
Xi Yate smilingly nodded in agreement,
"I'll have time after the midterm general elections. During that period of time you can come over anytime."
Holding the towel gifted by Xi Yate, Fisher slowly walked toward his own research laboratory. The current him could be said to have used up entirely all of his strength; top to bottom his entire body also ached fiercely.
Fisher reached his hand to eliminate the lit-up Crest on his body. Instantaneously, a bout of comfortable sense of release transmitted from top to bottom through his entire body. He comfortably exhaled a breath, very quickly walking back to his own laboratory. On top of the stable, Eliog was still sleeping, however her drooping tail was still lit with flames.
When Fisher walked in, she poked her head up, looking at that Fisher walking in from the main door.
"Oh, you've returned?"
Fisher nodded, looking at the flowing stream outside the stable. Without looking at her, merely draping the towel over his own back he said,
"I am going to prepare to head out to the stream outside to wash my body a bit. It's best you also wash a bit; my room is entirely filled with that saltpeter smell, stifling to death."
"Hey, that is merely a demon's normal smell ao. Even if I'm very lazy, I still pay very close attention to personal cleanliness. I have three magma flows and Hot Springs inside the Dynasty. My favorite is taking baths alright?"
"Mm, so hurry up and come over to wash a bit."
Eliog somewhat indignantly sat her body up, watching him shed his clothing to enter the stream water to wash his own body. She leaped down from the top of the stable, running to the vicinity of the stream water. Using her tail she poked the stream water. That flame swayed within the water, without the slightest intention of extinguishing.
Sensing Eliog's approach, Fisher also wasn't shy either, merely sitting in the water to wash his own body, without the intention of paying heed to that demon.
This instead made the demon behind him lick her lips, her gaze completely unceremoniously landing onto his body.
There was no movement behind for a short while. When he turned his head back again, Eliog had already run out very far, and also began to wash her own body.
This time the washing took a comparatively long time. When Fisher changed his clothes and exited from the stream water, returning to the laboratory and opening the door, the scene inside gave him a slight pause.
Eliog had her back facing Fisher, seemingly currently fastening the corset clothing on her upper body. Seeing Fisher return she also wasn't angered, instead speaking as a reminder as if suddenly thinking of something,
"Right, I've told you before ao; it's best you release your inventory a bit faster, otherwise the lateral effects of this kind of training will become increasingly worse..."
She twisted her head to look at Fisher, yet suddenly caught a glimpse of his gaze which had become exceptionally dark and deep because of her current appearance.
In an instant, her smile also became extremely wicked. Casting her gaze toward his body, she knew the tolerance of the gentleman before her eyes had already reached its limit.
She had just wanted to use her tail to form a heart shape to draw out Fisher's desire, yet within her gaze saw Fisher drawing increasingly closer to herself. With lightning speed he fiercely tugged her tail draped behind her, immediately leaning close and pressing down.
"Ah, wait... you this fellow..."
He indeed needed to release some inventory.
