The Growth of a God

Chapter 355 - 1: Kuilong

Chapter 355 - 1: Kuilong

In the eyes of outsiders, the Mountain and Sea Realm has always been known for its mystery.

Especially the Mountain and Sea Civilization that emerged from it, is synonymous with wisdom, courage, and benevolence.

However, only the Mountain and Sea People living in the Mountain and Sea Realm know that not all creatures in this world belong to the side of goodness.

On the contrary, in the vast majority of cases, those newborn entities exhibit a state of violence and savagery.

Even the Skeletons, which are considered the most rational from an external perspective, go through a violent phase lasting over a decade during their initial stages until they are guided and developed into true wisdom.

In view of this, a special profession emerged among the Mountain and Sea People — the Secret Seeker.

Unlike the Pioneers active on the frontlines of various dangers, the Secret Seeker is a formal professional classification.

The Secret Seekers not only have a clear career path, but they are also given the greatest resources and information support within the Mountain and Sea Civilization.

Their duty is simple: to venture into the various extreme environments of the Mountain and Sea Realm, seeking those unique individuals that may harbor the potential for wisdom.

After all, ever since the Reincarnation System was established, even ants could develop wisdom, let alone those powerful creatures living in harsh environments.

However, those powerful and wise entities are far removed from civilization and are extremely dangerous in every sense.

Thus, the first Secret Seekers were born.

The Secret Seekers brought those individuals who developed wisdom back to the Mountain and Sea Civilization, teaching them to speak, write, and gradually grow into true Mountain and Sea People.

Kuilong was one of those wise individuals that were brought back by the Secret Seekers to be educated within the Mountain and Sea Civilization.

True to the name, Kuilong is essentially an Epic Creature with the head of a dragon and the body of a bull.

Due to the worship of the first Apostle in legend, Ji Meng, who could lift the sun and moon.

After undergoing the trials of the Land of No Night, Kuilong began ascending the Ascension Ladder, transforming into a being with the head of a bull and a human body.

Though said to be a human form, Kuilong merely stands upright; the rest of its body retains a physique and joints as robust as a wild ox.

Therefore, Kuilong, who is bull-headed with a humanoid body and as robust as a wild ox, is somewhat famous throughout the Mountain and Sea Realm.

However, what truly brought Kuilong widespread fame was his decision to follow in his adoptive father’s footsteps after completing his education and becoming a Secret Seeker.

It’s important to understand that due to the duties and inherent dangers of being a Secret Seeker, very few Mountain and Sea People actively choose to join this group.

Especially for someone like Kuilong, who transformed from an Epic Creature into a Mountain and Sea Person, their sense of responsibility and honor is often less than that of normal Mountain and Sea People.

Kuilong is the exception, having a deep affection for his adoptive father who helped him integrate into the Mountain and Sea Civilization.

Therefore, when his adoptive father died exploring a Polar Region, Kuilong naturally took over his father’s role, becoming a new Secret Seeker.

It was also at this time that Kuilong discovered his interests.

Rather than constantly climbing the Ascension Ladder and becoming more powerful, Kuilong preferred studying little-known creatures and ecosystems.

.........................................................

"Secret Seeker? Kuilong?"

Looking at the image of Kuilong on the computer screen with a peculiar expression, Li Hao fell into deep thought.

In fact, not only civilizations outside the Mountain and Sea Realm can’t understand the development process of the Mountain and Sea Civilization.

Sometimes, even Li Hao as the Creator doesn’t know what new things the Mountain and Sea People under him have come up with.

The profession of Secret Seeker is like that, and so is the unique existence that is Kuilong.

Because, in Li Hao’s eyes, Kuilong is not an ordinary Epic Creature, but a special existence between acquired beings and Innate Divine Spirits — a Human shaped God.

The only Human shaped God in the current Mountain and Sea Realm is the Saintly Divine Being Yuyu.

"Is it influenced by my subconscious?"

In Li Hao’s memory, the Classic of Mountains and Seas records a creature called Kui Niu.

— "Classic of Mountains and Seas: Great Wilderness East Scripture."

— "It resembles a bull, with a gray body but no horns, one leg. When it goes in and out of water, it must bring wind and rain. Its light is like the sun and moon, and its sound like thunder. It is called Kui."

— "Yishi" Volume Five quoting "Inner Biography of the Emperor Huang."

— "When the Yellow Emperor fought against Chiyou, the Mysterious Maiden crafted eighty drums from Kui Niu hides for the Emperor. One beat covered five hundred li, continuous beats covered three thousand eight hundred li."

— "The Extensive Notes on the Classic of Mountains and Seas" quoting "Guang Chengzi’s Biography."

— "Chiyou had a copper head and devoured stones, flying and risking through the air. Using Kui (Kui) Niu skin for drums, nine strikes stopped him, who still couldn’t fly or run away, and he was thus killed."

In simple terms, this is a Legendary Level Divine Beast that has existed in the Divine Land since ancient times.

Its skin can be made into drums that summon thunder, and it once helped the Emperor defeat Chiyou.

The individual named "Kuilong" that appears in the Mountain and Sea Realm now shares the potential to become a Thunder God.

In the Divine Tao System of the Celestial Tao System, although Kuilong does not belong to the category of Innate Gods or acquired gods, he is still endowed with Divine Position.

Of course, Kuilong himself is unaware that this is the "Divine Position" from the legends.

In Kuilong’s own view, he merely possesses the ability to summon thunder and holds an extraordinary talent in this field that is difficult for ordinary people to reach.

While studying in school, Kuilong tinkered with a special thunder-summoning and power-generating device.

Although that power-generating device was later evaluated as "dangerous" by members of the Zhiku, and Kuilong was strictly prohibited from privately manufacturing similar devices again.

But since then, Kuilong has been able to receive full support from the school and related institutes for any research he wishes to pursue.

The "Medical Detection Type Implant·Kuilong" is a new type of implant that Kuilong developed using his innate abilities.

This type of implant can assess and summarize various conditions of the body through the weak electric current produced by the organism itself, ultimately presenting it as data.

Theoretically, as long as this implant is installed, the Mountain and Sea People can promptly judge various conditions occurring in their body, significantly extending their already long lifespans.

Moreover, when suddenly attacked, this implant originally designed for medical purposes can quickly gather bioelectric currents, forming a protective barrier for the body.

It can be said that the new type of implant invented by Kuilong greatly enhanced the survival capabilities of the Mountain and Sea People.

In today’s Mountain and Sea Realm, this medical-type implant and the intelligence-type implant have long become essential implants for every Mountain and Sea Person.

"Now that Kui Niu has appeared, I wonder if other mythical creatures recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas will also appear?"

Not those mythical figures that originally exist in the Mountain and Sea Realm, but new individuals born under the influence of my subconscious.

Li Hao is now very curious whether these new entities will eventually grow into the figures embodied by his subconscious.

"This could be quite an interesting research topic..."
