Chapter 298 13: The Arms Dealer's Principles (1/3)

"They agreed?"

When Wuhua returned alone to the interior of the Steel Worm, Chidan's voice sounded timely.

"They had no other choice."

Wuhua, having transformed back into human form, nodded with a smile, but his tone was surprisingly calm.

Long before proposing the deal, Wuhua had already anticipated all of the Pawa's decisions.

"Either agree to my demands and regain the means to survive in this world."

"Or take those weapons and ammunition that will eventually run out, struggling on until the last of their race."

Understanding Wuhua's insight and grasp of human nature, Chidan had no doubts about the feasibility of this transaction.

It only doubted whether the Pawa could truly survive and multiply in this world again.

"With their current numbers, any minor natural disaster or calamity could directly wipe them out, I don't think they can last much longer."

Chidan has a sense of justice; otherwise, it would not have accompanied Wuhua to a world invaded by Godslayers.

But precisely because of this sense of justice, the rational Chidan was not optimistic about the Pawa's choices.

In Chidan's view, rather than struggling in this world doomed to have no future, it would be better to move to another world while they still have the strength.

Even the Divine Fall Realm, regarded by the Ascenders as the "Land of the Gods," is perhaps better than the current Pandora World.

At the very least, Chidan knew that Wuhua had the ability to assist the Pawa in migration; the only difference was whether they were willing to pay the corresponding price.

Chidan believed that none of the Pawa who had survived until now were foolish.

Yet none of them proposed such an idea or transaction, which could only mean that they never considered giving up on Pandora World from the bottom of their hearts.

"They believe their world can still be saved, they believe they still have a fallback."

Wuhua, caressing the inner walls of the Steel Worm, spoke the answer to the question in place of Chidan.

"Those Pawa who were assimilated by the petrification virus for survival, have they truly broken off from their original race?"

"How was that once unbeatable Godslayer defeated by the natives of this world?"

"The Pawa have obtained an entire weapon production line from us, is it really just for self-defense?"

Each time Wuhua asked a question, Chidan's eyes brightened a little.

By the time Wuhua asked the last question, Chidan already understood completely.

"You mean, these Pawa are not as simple as they seem on the surface?"

.........................................................

The doubts of Wuhua and Chidan did not last long.

Almost as soon as Chidan started mining and making machine tools, helping the Pawa complete the weapon production line, a group of unexpected, yet reasonably anticipated special individuals arrived in the underground cave.

They were also Pawa—a group of Pawa infected by the petrification virus.

They appeared as a gray inorganic mass, yet still maintained the vitality of living creatures.

In contrast to the rampaging, savage Stone Beasts, the only difference with these petrified Pawa was that they retained their rationality and wisdom.

Typically, individuals infected by the petrification virus would completely frenzy.

However, the Pawa managed to reawaken the rationale of these petrified individuals through some special technology.

This was the fundamental reason why those willing to assimilate with the petrification virus decided to eke out an existence in this gray world.

The relationship between the Pawa and the petrified Pawa was not the antagonistic one outsiders imagined.

In fact, the survival of the Pawa in the underground caves up to now owed much to the help of the already petrified Pawa.

In the subsequent combat skills training, those truly accepting A Meng's training were the petrified Pawa.

After all, they were originally individuals infected by the petrification virus, so even if injured in battle, they had no fear of being reinfected by the petrification virus.

Additionally, these petrified individuals exhibited a certain degree of bravery in their emotional tendencies.

One must know, the indigenous people of Pandora World had few biological hormones, and the petrified Pawa became second only to the undead in this aspect.

When such petrified individuals received professional combat skills training, they quickly became an elite force in the eyes of other races and civilizations.

"They are not defending; they are planning to counterattack!"

During a break in training, A Meng said this to Wuhua and Chidan.

In stark contrast to the various defensive tactics and skills, the learning direction of the petrified individuals clearly leaned more towards offense and slaughter.

So the question arises, what exactly are the Pawa planning to counterattack against?

In the current environment where the Godslayer has been temporarily killed and the petrification virus has spread across the entire world, what is the focus of the Pawa's counterattack?

"This is not your concern; if they want to learn offensive skills, then you teach them offensive skills."

Realizing something, Wuhua briefly paused in silence before instructing A Meng as such.

"Aside from some basic tactical skills and weapon use, you can also appropriately teach them some self-preservation and self-rescue methods in times of crisis."

Emergency battlefield self-rescue and rescue were also areas of combat specialization that A Meng excelled in.

"This..."

Eyes widening in surprise, A Meng had picked up the subtext in Wuhua's words.

"Are you saying these Pawa are planning for a major war?"

Only during a real war where medical facilities and personnel are scarce would emergency battlefield self-rescue and rescue methods have the greatest impact.

"This has nothing to do with us, understand?"

At this moment, Chidan, having opened its eyes, lowered its voice and said.

"We are merely arms dealers, merely outsiders providing them with the necessary equipment and technology."

"No matter what they plan to do next, we have no need to delve too deeply."

Seeing the enlightened A Meng, Chidan further added.

"As a competent arms dealer, personally intervening in a war and then being killed by the weapons you've sold is the most foolish way to die."

This is the difference between arms dealers and mercenaries; the stance of an arms dealer is always neutral.

Though the trio known as Wuhua did not come to Pandora World purely for profit, staying out of the wars was also their principle.

Wuhua did not wish for his companions to perish in a foreign world over a mere transaction.

It was Wuhua who brought Chidan and A Meng out of the Mountain and Sea Realm, and it was also his responsibility and duty to bring the two of them back to the Mountain and Sea Realm again.
