Chapter 983: Text Expert
Chapter 983: Text Expert
In the following time, Ling Feng told the two about what had happened in the far north.
After listening, with her curiosity satisfied, Li Fei’er propped her chin on her hands: "No way, just like that?"
Ling Feng knew she was referring to that last map, and that finding the relief sculpture meant the exploration was complete, so he shrugged and said: "I really don’t know what’s up with that!"
"Logically speaking, the disc hidden in the Giant Shark’s head must have been arranged by someone thousands of years ago. Yu Linglong’s father appearing there might just be a coincidence!" Li Shiyun said.
Ling Feng nodded, "It could be a coincidence, or maybe he discovered something, which is why he went there!"
"Maybe the secret of that last place was already destroyed, so when you went there, you only unlocked the map, but didn’t gain anything!" Li Shiyun said.
"Right, that’s also possible!"
Ling Feng nodded, then continued: "But it’s not entirely without gain, at least I found out who the person Yu Linglong spoke of is, as well as her identity!"
"A princess, this is the second princess I’ve seen!" Li Fei’er exclaimed with sparkling eyes.
"What does it matter if you’ve seen one, it’s not like you are one!" Ling Feng laughed.
"Hmph, I’m not, but what can I do if I was born into an ordinary family?" Li Fei’er pouted.
Seeing this, Li Shiyun changed the subject: "You’re from an ordinary family? Come on, stop kidding!"
"Exactly, if you’re from an ordinary family, what does that make me?" Ling Feng said with a wry smile.
After leaving the Nine Heavens, Ling Feng went straight to Wang Laogen with the stele.
Surprisingly, he wasn’t playing chess this time, because Chu Nan wasn’t in the manor.
Seeing him arrive, the old man chuckled, "You’ve come at just the right time, have a seat quickly!"
"What’s up?"
Ling Feng sat down, asking with some confusion.
"Something’s happened, and it’s related to you!" Wang Laogen said.
Seeing his smiling face, Ling Feng thought it must be something good, so he asked: "What exactly happened?"
"The Holy See in Europe has issued a bounty on you, offering a hundred million US Dollars!" Wang Laogen said.
Ling Feng: "..."
Speechless, he looked at the old man with a helpless expression: "And you’re happy about this?"
"Your life is worth a hundred million, shouldn’t that be a little exciting?" Wang Laogen asked.
"Uh..."
Ling Feng scratched his head: "If my life is the highest bounty in global history, I suppose there is some pride to be had in that!"
"What are you thinking, it’s not that much yet!"
Wang Laogen rolled his eyes at him, then continued: "The Holy See has issued a stern decree; they must take your life at all costs. You can tell from the price of the bounty how desperate they are!"
"Let them be desperate. Anyone who wants to earn this money should first see if they have the capability!" Ling Feng shrugged his shoulders.
"What if one person can’t take you down, what about ten? What about several hundred? Don’t be too careless!" Wang Laogen warned.
Ling Feng looked at him: "Don’t worry, I’m not an idiot!"
After finishing, he didn’t discuss this topic further and took out the stele from his bracelet: "Take a look at this, do you recognize the characters on it? I think these should be Huaxia scripts."
Wang Laogen put on his reading glasses, looked down and said: "These are hieroglyphs, who told you it was Huaxia?"
"Square-shaped, isn’t it?" Ling Feng asked.
"No, I think this might be cuneiform. Where did you find it?" Wang Laogen asked.
"In an oasis in the desert, the exact location isn’t clear. It might be the Sahara Desert or some other place!" Ling Feng said.
"If you don’t know, never mind!"
Wang Laogen glanced over it a few times, then used his phone to take pictures of the stele inscriptions: "I’ll find someone to help you look at it later!"
"Don’t give it all to them at once, it’s better to distribute it. This way, you can avoid letting irrelevant people know the content!" Ling Feng reminded.
"You don’t have to remind me, I’ll handle the segmentation!" Wang Laogen said.
Ling Feng hummed in agreement: "Then hurry up, I’m really in a rush with this!"
"Rushing won’t help, now it’s time for rest for them, wait a few more hours!" Wang Laogen said.
"Rest?"
Ling Feng turned to look at the window, it was the time when the sun was shining brightly, why would they be resting now?
Wang Laogen looked at him: "The expert I’m looking for isn’t domestic, it’s a professor in Europe specializing in ancient texts!"
"Oh, then I understand!"
Ling Feng nodded: "Alright, then keep an eye on it for me, and let me know immediately if there’s news. I’ll head back home now!"
"Ok!"
Ling Feng got up to leave, but suddenly stopped in his tracks: "Right, have Mo Lan and the others not come back yet?"
"Not yet, they’re having a great time in Europe and probably will be touring around for a few more days!" Wang Laogen said.
Ling Feng was speechless, but considering Zhou Yi, Xun Qianqian, and Miao Lanlan deserved some relaxation, he nodded: "Alright, got it."
He left the manor and went back home.
He wasn’t in a hurry to look for Yu Linglong. It wouldn’t be too late to seek her out after deciphering the content on the stele, so he didn’t rush back to the Nine Heavens either.
Thinking that it had been a while since he had been in touch with Chen Yuhe, Ling Feng took out his phone and called her.
The phone rang for half a minute, and a tired voice came through: "Hello?"
"What’s wrong, you sound very tired!" Ling Feng asked, astonished.
"I’ve been busy all night, and just about to go to sleep. Do you need something?" Chen Yuhe asked.
Ling Feng was quite surprised and asked with curiosity: "Are you that busy? What were you doing?"
"It’s about the project. There’s so much to concern oneself with; I always feel uneasy if I don’t look after everything!" Chen Yuhe said.
A pang of pain struck Ling Feng’s heart, and he sighed, "Do you have to work so hard? Where are you now, I’ll come to you!"
"I’m at my place, come over." Chen Yuhe said softly.
After hanging up the phone, without another word, Ling Feng dashed out the front door, got into his car, and left Shiliu Village.
Racing along, half an hour later, the powerful vehicle stopped at the gate of Chen Yuhe’s villa.
A middle-aged woman stood there, and as soon as she saw Ling Feng getting out of the car, she immediately approached him and asked: "Are you Mr. Ling?"
"Yes, I am. And you are?"
Ling Feng was a little puzzled, not knowing who this woman was.
"I’m Ms. Chen’s personal assistant, Chen Mo. She instructed me to wait for you here downstairs."
"Oh, where is she?" Ling Feng asked.
"She’s in the upstairs bedroom. Mr. Ling, you can go straight up once you’re here!" Chen Mo smiled.
"Alright, thank you!"
Ling Feng nodded and went inside.
As soon as he entered, seeing the furnishings in the house remained the same as before, memories from the past immediately surfaced in his mind.
Back then, Chen Yuhe’s parents were still alive, and the events that had taken place here felt like they had happened just yesterday!
Seeing these scenes, Ling Feng knew she had moved on from her parents’ death, otherwise she wouldn’t have come back here to live again!
