The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 972 Email

Chapter 972 Email

Wancheng Han was at his wit’s end when he heard this, so he nodded: "Alright, then. Drive safe, and we’ll talk more later!"

"Got it!"

Ling Feng nodded, then hung up the phone.

Just as he was about to continue on his way, the phone rang again!

This time it was Chen Ping. As soon as the call connected, the voice on the other end shouted, "Where are you?"

"Boss, I’m on the road. What’s up?" Ling Feng asked with a wry smile.

"Come back and report to Longyuan immediately, when can you get here?" asked Chen Ping.

"By evening, I guess. But after I return, I’ve got other stuff to deal with. Can I look for you afterward?" inquired Ling Feng.

Chen Ping became anxious: "No, come see me immediately once you’re back!"

Ling Feng: "What’s the matter? Is there some kind of emergency?"

"It’s not that. Bring Kong Fan back with you. You took him away on your own initiative; what sort of behavior is that?!" Chen Ping said angrily.

"Oh, got it."

Ling Feng was somewhat speechless but understood the pressure coming from both sides: the main office and the direct supervisor at the research institute had probably both been in touch with him!

So he verbally agreed but Ling Feng didn’t really think so. After hanging up, he got into the car and began the journey back.

To save time, Ling Feng made a call to Wang Laogen en route to ask him to take care of some things for him. That way, he could go straight to Longyuan with Kong Fan once he returned.

The trip back was uneventful. When he arrived at Shiliu Village, it was six o’clock in the evening, forty minutes earlier than planned.

Upon reaching the villa, Wang Laogen was already waiting.

"Everything taken care of?" asked Ling Feng.

"Nonsense, do you even have to ask about my work? The video of Kong Fan is all recorded. I didn’t make him suffer, but Kong Sheng will be in agony if he has any conscience at all when he sees it!" said Wang Laogen with a smirk.

"Good!"

Ling Feng nodded, took the USB drive from his hand, then watched as the Chu Family escorted Kong Fan to his car.

"I’m off to take the guy to Longyuan; Old Chen is getting anxious over there!" Ling Feng said jokingly.

Wang Laogen nodded: "Off you go. The only one who dares do such things in the Security Bureau is you!"

Leaving the villa, Ling Feng glanced back at the pale-faced and lifeless-eyed Kong Fan in the back seat and couldn’t help but ask coldly, "Looks like you’re quite aware of what you’ve done, huh?"

"..."

Kong Fan remained silent, as if he hadn’t heard a thing.

"I’m not sure what punishment you’ll get, but it’s surely not going to be light. You should’ve thought of today before you acted," Ling Feng said coldly.

"You killed Kong Lin, my son will never let you go!" said Kong Fan finally, his voice brimming with malice.

Ling Feng glanced at him through the rearview mirror: "Really? I wasn’t planning on letting him off either."

Seeing that Kong Fan stopped talking, Ling Feng said with a sneer, "You’re pained by Kong Lin’s death? Don’t you think he deserved it? And as for your other son, Kong Sheng, you must be well aware of how much damage he has done to Huaxia’s interests, right?"

"..."

Kong Fan’s breathing became rapid, his eyes turned bloodshot, and his emotions grew agitated.

"How deeply poisoned is this?"

Ling Feng rolled his eyes and ignored the man.

After arriving at Longyuan, he handed Kong Fan over to the staff and found Chen Ping with a smile: "Boss, are you mad at me?"

"Impetuous and reckless!"

Chen Ping glanced at him: "I don’t need to tell you how important Kong Fan is, do I? And you just took him away on your own!"

"What’s the big deal? We found evidence of his leaking secrets, and no confidential information was lost. It was just a small matter that I handled," Ling Feng said with a shrug.

"A small matter?"

Chen Ping glared at him: "Do you realize how many phone calls I received because of your actions at the institute?"

"Ah? Why?" asked Ling Feng.

"Everybody who heard about this told me they wanted to invite you over to meet and see that golden Divine Dragon!" Chen Ping told him.

Ling Feng was displeased when he heard this: "Damn, what’s up with that? I’m not running a zoo here. What, do they want me to put on a show?"

"The dragon is a totem of Huaxia’s people; it’s natural to be curious having only heard of it but never seen it, right?" Chen Ping said.

Ling Feng was taken aback and looked at Chen Ping: "What do you mean, you haven’t agreed to let them come, have you?"

"Hehe."

Chen Ping laughed, and Ling Feng realized what that meant, quickly waving his hands: "Forget it, I don’t have that kind of spare time, nor can I afford to provoke them. She definitely won’t agree!"

"Well, I can’t manage that. Anyway, Director Han is already on his way and will arrive after eight tonight. Deal with it as you see fit!" said Chen Ping.

"..."

Now Ling Feng was lost for words and widened his eyes: "Old Han is coming? He didn’t mention this when he called me!"

Just as he finished speaking, he recalled Han Wancheng saying they’d talk later upon hanging up the phone. Was this what he meant?

His heart sank. How could he deal with the visit of the head of the main office?

Seeing him like this, Chen Ping couldn’t help but snicker with a touch of schadenfreude.

Feeling helpless, Ling Feng sighed: "Since the head of the main office is coming, I’ll have to think of something!"

Chen Ping looked at him: "So it seems, my face as the director isn’t as big as Old Han’s, huh?"

"Uh..."

Ling Feng was speechless and glanced at him: "Boss, can we stop with the sarcasm, please?"

"Fine, I won’t say any more!" Chen Ping said with a laugh.

"Is Du Song around? I need to do something with him!" asked Ling Feng.

"The basement!" said Chen Ping.

Ling Feng went downstairs and found Du Song: "I have a document here; I need you to send it to someone."

"Alright, who?" asked Du Song.

"Why ask so many questions? It’s a friend!" Ling Feng said with a smile.

The file from the USB drive was quickly encrypted and sent to an email address.

Ling Feng pulled out his phone and called Pete.

"Boss, what do you need?" Pete asked with a sycophantic voice.

Touched by this man’s loyalty since returning to the country, Ling Feng smiled and said, "I need a favor. I just sent a file to your email; make sure it spreads so that Kong Sheng sees it!"

"No problem, I can send it directly to his email!" Pete said.

"Do you have his email?" asked Ling Feng.

"Just obtained it. It’s The Holy See’s internal email, used for dispatching missions and notices. I found a way to get it!" Pete said.

Ling Feng laughed: "In that case, don’t send it. Just give me the address; it’ll be funnier if I do it myself."

"Alright, write it down then..."

After getting Kong Sheng’s email address, Ling Feng hung up and handed it over to Du Song.

As he saw the file transfer successfully, Ling Feng chuckled: "After he sees this, I wonder if he’ll explode on the spot?"
