Chapter 831 Betting
Chapter 831 Betting
The middle-aged man cracked a slight smile, "You are too inexperienced, you can’t just slice a stone in half from the middle like that! What if there is jade inside, won’t it get damaged?"
Ling Feng knew the other party meant well, so he smiled back, "Thanks for the reminder, but I am doing this to save time."
"Eh?"
The middle-aged man was taken aback and about to ask when the stone-cutting machine was turned on, and the loud noise immediately shut him up.
Then, the basketball-sized stone was cut into two halves, and the middle-aged man’s eyes instantly bulged!
"Holy shit!"
After blurting out a curse, he turned his head to look around and shouted to everyone, "Ice type, Imperial Green"
"Whoa!"
The onlookers, whether they understood or not, instantly went wild!
This was mainly because many people saw that enticing green on the cut surface of the raw stone!
Ling Feng chuckled to himself, thinking my judgment was indeed correct, the concentration of Spiritual Energy and the quality of jade’s color are related.
The purer the jade, the richer the Spiritual Energy it emits!
It seems, becoming rich today is inevitable!
Under the rapt attention of the crowd, a fist-sized piece of jade was extracted, and everyone’s gaze changed!
There was greed, envy, and fervor!
Ling Feng held the green jade in his palm, raised it high, and called out, "Highest bidder gets it!"
"Three million!"
"Four million!"
"Five hundred thousand!"
Shouts of bidding overlapped each other, and if it weren’t for Feng Ling’s help in translating, Ling Feng wouldn’t have understood some of the prices!
In the end, when someone bid eight million yuan, everyone fell silent.
Ling Feng was overjoyed, marveling once again at the speed of making money from gambling on stones, which was incredibly fast!
The deal was struck at eight million yuan, and onsite staff helped with the transfer. After deducting the five percent handling fee charged by the organizer, Ling Feng’s card was credited with seven million six hundred thousand!
Seeing Ling Feng almost unable to contain his joy, Zhang He couldn’t resist asking, "Tasting the sweetness?"
"Yeah, with this pace, I could soon earn enough for a warship, couldn’t I?" Ling Feng said proudly.
"Not planning on keeping a low profile anymore?" Zhang He continued.
"..."
Ling Feng was left speechless by the remark but then gave a wry smile, "Thanks for the reminder, I get your point!"
"Good, as long as you understand. Don’t draw too much attention to yourself, though of course, I can’t stop you from wanting to make money!" Zhang He nodded.
Ling Feng looked at him, "You’re not jealous, are you?"
"Get out of here, do I look like I need your eight million?" Zhang He rolled his eyes at him.
"What if it was several hundred million?" Ling Feng continued to ask.
Zhang He paused, snorted mockingly, "Don’t be ridiculous, I know very well how much the difference is between eight million and several hundred million; even if you bought all the raw stones here today, you wouldn’t make that much!"
"Well, that’s not necessarily true!"
Feng Ling smiled slightly and waved a finger, "If Ling Feng finds a bigger piece of glass type Imperial Green, his income could instantly soar into the hundreds of millions!"
"You two really think alike, but don’t take me for a fool. To reach over a hundred million, that jade would have to be as big as a football!" Zhang He laughed.
The remark made Feng Ling blush, and then she glared at him.
Zhang He was grinning, teasing Ling Feng with a raised eyebrow, "How about it, dare to bet?"
"Bet on what?" Ling Feng asked.
"If you really can find such a large jadeite, I can agree to one of your requests!"
Ling Feng let out an "oh" and then retorted, "And what if I can’t do it?"
"You give me a large Spirit Stone!" Zhang He chuckled.
"Come on, do I look like a fool to you?"
Ling Feng rolled his eyes, "How much is your promise worth?"
"That’s not for sure, don’t you want to buy a warship? I might have a way to sort it out," Zhang He said with a smile.
"Hmm?"
Ling Feng had not wanted to pay attention to him, but upon hearing this, he stopped in his tracks: "You have that sort of ability?"
Zhang He smiled, "Believe it or not, it’s up to you!"
Ling Feng’s eyes darted around, feeling that this bet was very worthwhile. Even if he lost, a high-quality Spirit Stone was no big deal. After all, he had plenty of them!
So he nodded: "Alright, I’ll take that bet with you!"
Having said that, he turned and walked away, leaving Zhang He stunned, shouting out, "Where are you going?"
"To find a higher place!"
Without another word, Ling Feng grabbed Feng Ling’s hand and headed towards the perimeter of the court.
Zhang He, speechless, quickly followed suit: "The raw stones are over there, aren’t you just admitting defeat?"
"I’d be an idiot to admit defeat!"
Ling Feng smiled slightly and strode towards the stands.
Now Zhang He understood and quickly followed him.
Once the three of them got onto the stands, their view immediately widened. They could see the entire area where the raw stones were exhibited at a glance.
"You are really so amazing, you can see inside the stones from dozens or even hundreds of meters away?"
Seeing Ling Feng standing high up and surveying the area, Zhang He couldn’t help but ask.
Ling Feng didn’t say anything. After looking for a while, he jumped down and asked proudly, "Who do you think I am?"
Zhang He: "..."
"Let’s go. I’ve already found the most valuable stone in the whole place. After I get my hands on it, get ready to give me that clue!" Ling Feng flashed a smile and pulled Feng Ling down from the stands.
"I don’t believe this, you’re definitely tricking me!"
Zhang He was unconvinced in his heart; he was really envious of that extra-large high-quality Spirit Stone. He originally thought to provoke Ling Feng into a trap, to get a stone from him in the process. Now, it seemed a bit difficult.
But Zhang He still felt that it was the first day, could a jadeite worth hundreds of millions appear? That was a joke!
With mixed feelings, he followed Ling Feng back to the exhibition area.
Arriving at one of the stalls, Ling Feng pretended to be a tourist, looking through all the raw stones on the table.
There, the stones varied in size, with the smallest being the size of a fist, and the largest one being more than a meter tall and fifty centimeters wide.
The volume of the raw stones was generally not that large; the most common ones were about the size of a basketball, but this one was quite out of the ordinary.
Not only was the volume unusual, but the price was also a bit frightening: just the raw stone itself was valued at three million!
The main reason for the hefty price was due to some damage to the stone; the broken area revealed a white misty cross-section.
Seeing mist meant there was a large chance that there were jade stones inside.
But stone gamblers were not fools, all very cunning. Although many were tempted by the stone as they passed by the stall, they would look at the price and then at the clear white mist, and many would just shake their heads and walk away!
As for why, everyone thought it was the vendor’s gimmick, that the white mist was probably created deliberately as a fake!
This kind of situation was not uncommon, so there were indeed incidents where people were duped into losing everything they owned.
Therefore, the raw stone was now an exhibit that was priced but unsellable, looking very awkward.
