Chapter 744: White Jiao
Chapter 744: White Jiao
Ling Feng was taken aback and looked down.
Standing about two meters above sea level, An Xue had just spotted a huge cylindrical creature swimming by in the ocean below.
"Hey, I knew it!"
Ling Feng was overjoyed at the sight of that thing!
"What’s wrong?"
An Xue asked, puzzled.
Ling Feng chuckled: "That thing is the source of the material I used for your shoes!"
"Ah?"
An Xue was startled, her eyes wide: "How could this thing be here?"
"Who knows, this creature is called White Jiao. The rest of it is easy to deal with, but the most important part is its skin. I’ve been craving it ever since we ate it last time!" Ling Feng laughed.
"Is it that delicious?"
Seeing his ecstatic expression, An Xue asked with a smile.
"Wait until I catch one, then you’ll know how it tastes after you try it!"
Ling Feng smiled and turned to go outside.
Wang Wan’er was also among the crowd. As he stepped out, he immediately said, "Wan’er, bring the Seaweed and follow me!"
"Okay."
Wang Wan’er didn’t understand his intentions but still went over immediately.
At that moment, Ling Yao asked on behalf of everyone, "What’s going on?"
"The entrance is too narrow. I’ll have Wan’er make the space bigger first. It’ll be quick!"
Ling Feng was a bit anxious as he pulled Wang Wan’er into the Sixth Layer, leaving the others full of curiosity. They were eager to go in and see for themselves but had to wait patiently.
About twenty minutes later, Ling Feng came out and smiled at everyone, "Can’t wait any longer, right? Come with me!"
All the women rushed in, and a chorus of surprised exclamations immediately followed.
By now, the platform under their feet had expanded considerably, covering more than fifty square meters, enough for everyone to stand on.
The girls’ eyes were all fixed on the distant island, where they discovered it was covered in plants. Li Fei’er pointed to it and turned to ask Ling Yao, "Yaoyao Sister, are there tropical fruits over there?"
After entering, Ling Yao established a connection with the Sixth Layer. She narrowed her eyes to sense the spatial environment and smiled, "Indeed, there are, and quite a lot!"
However, her smile soon turned into a frown, "Hm?"
"What’s wrong?"
Ling Feng, who was in high spirits, looked at her and asked.
"This space is quite unique. I suggest that we don’t move around here for now," Ling Yao said.
"Why?"
Li Fei’er, who was eager to pick fruits on the island, was taken aback when she heard this.
"Not only are there many strange sea creatures here, but there are also people!" Ling Yao stated in a grave tone.
"Ah?"
Everyone was stunned!
From the First Layer to the Fifth Layer, they had only seen various animals and plants, but encountering people was a first!
As soon as Ling Feng heard it, he too was filled with surprise and immediately asked, "What kind of people?"
"I can’t see very clearly!"
Ling Yao looked confused, shook her head slightly, and pointed to the depths of the sea afar, "Hundreds of kilometers away, there is a very large island with many inhabitants. It’s strange though; my thoughts seem to be obstructed, preventing me from fully observing the island!"
"Does that indicate that they have a certain level of civilization?" Ling Feng wondered.
Ling Yao nodded: "It should be!"
"Since that’s the case, it’s better to be more cautious!"
Ling Feng nodded his head and said to everyone, "Don’t worry, let’s wait until I figure out what’s going on here!"
"Alright then."
Such matters should not be taken lightly, even Li Fei’er nodded her head, unwillingly sighing.
Seeing this, Ling Feng couldn’t help but laugh, "You girl, can’t you buy any tropical fruits outside? Why are you so fixated on the ones here?"
"It’s different when you pick them yourself, it just tastes better!"
Li Fei’er rolled her eyes at him, then stepped forward and hugged Ling Feng’s arm, "Uncle, please hurry up, I can’t wait any longer!"
The crowd watched her act coquettishly with smiles, secretly sharing the same thoughts.
Ling Feng, having no choice, nodded his head, "Okay, I promise you, I’ll do nothing but stay here for the next few days!"
"Deal!"
Li Fei’er clapped her little hands contentedly.
After all the women left, only Ling Feng, Ling Yao, An Xue, and Wang Wan’er remained in The Sixth Layer.
By now, the platform had grown to over a hundred square meters, yet it still wasn’t big enough; at least a thousand square meters were necessary.
Therefore, Wang Wan’er stayed to continue creating land, while An Xue, somewhat impatient, really wanted to dive into the sea and capture a White Jiao right away.
Although it didn’t look large, Ling Feng had experience and knew its body was long and slender, stretching over dozens of meters in length, and it wouldn’t be easy to deal with.
After some hesitation, he took out the God Slayer Saber and handed it to An Xue.
"Take this with you. If you find that you still can’t handle it, come back to the shore as soon as possible, I’ll have Yaoyao keep an eye on you!"
"Okay."
With the God Slayer Saber in hand, An Xue suddenly felt more confident and, with a leap, she dove into the water.
It couldn’t be denied, she was naturally suited for life in the water, moving as smoothly as a fish once submerged, quickly diving dozens of meters below the surface.
Ling Feng, unable to see An Xue’s figure anymore, turned to look at Ling Yao.
"Don’t worry, I’m watching," Ling Yao said.
After a while, seeing her expression change, Ling Feng immediately asked, "What happened?"
"Nothing, An Xue encountered the creature," Ling Yao replied.
"Is the creature a White Jiao, and is it very big?" Ling Feng continued asking.
Ling Yao nodded, "Yes, extremely large, but the White Jiao isn’t as agile as An Xue, so it can’t bite her!"
No sooner had she finished speaking than her expression changed, and without saying another word, she dove into the sea!
"Dammit!"
Ling Feng cursed aloud and, without thinking, jumped in as well.
Wang Wan’er, who had been patiently cultivating seaweed, turned around upon hearing Ling Feng’s voice, and to her surprise, she found no trace of him or Ling Yao on the platform. She stood up, completely bewildered.
Wang Wan’er hurried to the edge of the water and called out loudly, "Big Brother Ling!"
The only response was the gentle lapping of waves against the seaweed wall.
Wang Wan’er grew nervous, standing there at a loss, her mind blank!
It took her a while to recover her senses, and she was about to go seek help when she heard Ling Feng’s shout from the sea, "Don’t be afraid, it’s all right now!"
Shortly after, he emerged holding An Xue in his arms and jumped onto the platform.
"Phew!"
Wang Wan’er patted her chest, "You scared me to death. What just happened?"
"An Xue was in danger down there, so Ling Yao and I went to help her," Ling Feng explained with a smile, placing the pale-faced An Xue on the platform. He then continued, "From now on, you’re not allowed to be so rash, or you won’t be allowed to swim anymore!"
An Xue, still a bit shaken, stuck out her tongue upon hearing this, "Understood."
