The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 625: Spiritual Beast

Chapter 625: Spiritual Beast

With puzzlement, Ling Feng descended the stairs, exited, and then headed straight for the mountains.

Passing through the mountains, he saw Chu Nan and Wang Laogen giving him a somewhat teasing smile, but Ling Feng didn’t bother with them!

These two old men were a bit naughty, actually setting a trap for him!

So Ling Feng didn’t care to engage with them and simply walked through the construction site before picking up his pace.

Soon, at the entrance of that cave, he saw Mo Lan dressed in tight clothing, sitting boredly on a large rock.

Her outfit looked refreshingly suitable for an outdoor adventure. Thus, Ling Feng approached and asked, "Your phone is pretty impressive, huh? You can even get a signal out here?"

"Because I brought a signal booster. If needed, I can contact the outside world at any time!"

Mo Lan pointed, and only then did Ling Feng notice an antenna sticking out among the weeds on the north slope of the mountain.

Ling Feng was a little surprised, not having expected her equipment to be so professional, and asked curiously, "When did you get here, and what are you doing?"

"I’ve been here for three days, obviously for something important. You’ll know soon enough!"

After she spoke, Mo Lan stood up and walked directly into the cave they had visited before!

Ling Feng had no choice but to follow. The two of them arrived at the new cave entrance he had discovered.

"I heard you got a huge piece of Stonemarrow here and even kept a portion for yourself?" Mo Lan stopped and suddenly asked.

Ling Feng paused for a second, then with a flicker in his eyes, "Who told you that? It isn’t true!"

"Stop lying to me, my dad already told me!" Mo Lan glared at him.

Ling Feng was speechless, thinking, how could the old man not keep anything to himself? It was like nothing could be kept in a broken basket!

However, since they were father and daughter, it wasn’t a big deal to tell her, and so with a dry laugh, Ling Feng said, "Alright, there is indeed some."

"Good, then give me a bit, just a tiny bit will do!"

With that, Mo Lan stretched out her small hand directly in front of Ling Feng!

She really wasn’t being polite - just outright asking for it without considering how precious that thing was, or whether he would agree??

Ling Feng, unable to refuse her persistent gaze, reluctantly took out a small piece from the Space Ring and passed it to her hand.

Then he couldn’t help asking, "You’re not planning to eat this, are you?"

"Of course not, I am using it as fish bait!"

After saying this, Mo Lan bent down and crawled into the cave entrance.

Ling Feng, confused, hurriedly followed her. Just as he was about to ask, Mo Lan made a shushing gesture, signaling him to be quiet!

"..."

Without any other option, Ling Feng could only follow her quietly inside, and after turning a corner, they arrived near the large expanse of stalactites.

He then watched as Mo Lan placed that small piece of Stonemarrow on a stalagmite, quickly walked back, and crouched behind a rock.

What was she trying to catch?

Ling Feng, utterly baffled, wanted to ask but feared her glare, so he forcibly suppressed his curiosity and crouched beside her behind the rock.

Time ticked by second by second, neither of them spoke a word. Mo Lan crouched there like a statue, perfectly still.

About an hour later, just when Ling Feng felt his legs going numb, he suddenly saw a streak of white light flitting toward the piece of Stonemarrow!

"Huh?"

While Ling Feng gaped in astonishment, Mo Lan had already dashed forward!

By the time he caught up, he saw Mo Lan holding a small, all-white creature with a long, fluffy white tail that looked very cute.

"Is this, a squirrel?"

Ling Feng looked at the squirrel’s large teeth and felt they were somewhat familiar, so he asked.

"Sort of. It’s not an ordinary squirrel; it has absorbed nature’s spiritual energy in this cave and has developed spiritual wisdom. It’s a Spiritual Beast!" Mo Lan said with a smile.

"What the heck?"

Ling Feng’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the squirrel.

The squirrel was staring back at him, its bean-like eyes full of indignation. Its big teeth were bared, seeming to threaten him!

Ling Feng watched in silence before protesting, "Hey, it was her who captured you, okay? Why the hell are you glaring at me?"

"It knows you’re the one who took the Stonemarrow. That stuff is its prized treasure!" Mo Lan said laughing.

"Er..."

Ling Feng thought to himself that it was no wonder then!

So he chuckled and said to the squirrel, "Then go ahead and be angry. The thing is in my hands now, and nobody is going to get it back!"

To his surprise, the squirrel seemed to understand his complicated words and started struggling fiercely in Mo Lan’s grasp, as if it wanted to fight Ling Feng to the death!

This scene left Ling Feng dumbfounded. He scratched his head and muttered, "Damn, this little guy really is a cunning one!"

"Luo Nanlin’s real purpose for coming here wasn’t the Stonemarrow, but him knowing that the birth of the Stonemarrow had a good chance of nurturing a Spiritual Beast," Mo Lan explained with a smile.

Since he met her, Ling Feng had only seen her smile twice, and her smile was actually quite beautiful.

Especially the way she looked at the squirrel, as if filled with tenderness.

Ling Feng, driven by curiosity, couldn’t help but ask, "So what’s the use of this thing? Isn’t it for stewing and eating to prolong one’s life?"

This comment utterly infuriated the squirrel. Not only did it start wrestling more violently, but it also made squeaking noises. If one could understand them, they would probably be curses raining down on Ling Feng’s ancestors!

Mo Lan turned and glared at him, "Stop talking nonsense. This little guy has a temper, what if you make it sick?"

Ling Feng thought, what does that have to do with me?

But he chuckled on the surface and continued to ask out of curiosity, "Then why did you capture it? What are you planning to do?"

"Nothing much, just to keep it," she said.

After speaking, Mo Lan grabbed the squirrel by the neck and started walking out.

Ling Feng had no choice but to follow her, and they both left the cave together.

Once outside in the bright sunshine, the squirrel’s appearance became even clearer.

Its body was snow-white without a single stray hair, with only its eyes and the tip of its nose being black, devoid of any other color.

It looked quite adorable. Ling Feng believed any girl would adore it at first sight.

It was just unfortunate that Mo Lan had caught it; otherwise, Ling Feng would have really liked to take it and give it to Li Fei’er as a gift.

As he thought this, Mo Lan turned her head back and shot him a glance, "You have a little girl with you, Li Fei’er, right?"

"Huh?"

Ling Feng wondered, is she a worm in my belly that she knows whatever I’m thinking?

Then Mo Lan looked at him and said, "Don’t be surprised. I heard it from my dad. She can communicate with animals, right?"

"That’s right. What’s your point?"

"I would like her to help tame this little guy!" Mo Lan asserted.

Upon hearing that, both Ling Feng and the squirrel were taken aback!

After that, the squirrel resumed its struggle, squeaking away and getting back to its cursing!
