The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 618: The Mysterious Woman

Chapter 618: The Mysterious Woman

Ling Yao had thought she was unaware of the Crimson Root Grass, but upon hearing it mentioned, she paused in shock!

Then she said to Ling Feng, "Before I came here, I really didn’t know about this thing, but after coming to your place, I found out!"

"Hmm?"

Ling Feng’s eyes widened in confusion at her words.

"I discovered it when I was learning about the resources of each layer of heaven after arriving here. It can be found in the Second Layer Heaven!" Ling Yao explained.

"That’s great!"

Overjoyed by the news, Ling Feng grabbed her hand and hurried outside.

Li Fei’er was playing with Ya Ya when she saw this, she quickly asked, "Uncle, what’s going on?"

"There’s no time to explain now, you’ll know soon!"

After saying this, Ling Feng, holding Ling Yao’s hand, directly teleported to the Second Layer Heaven, then said, "Sister, Lin Xue’s father has been poisoned with Crimson Root Grass. I urgently need to know its properties and what can counteract its poison!"

"Alright."

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Ling Yao nodded her head and with a slight gesture, a nondescript weed flowering with little white blossoms floated over!

Ling Feng took it in hand, and immediately a message popped into his mind: "Crimson Root Grass, its roots toxic, consumption can lead to unconsciousness..."

Upon reaching the last line, it stated, "Pollen can neutralize its poison."

Ling Feng immediately breathed a sigh of relief: "That makes things easier!"

Ling Yao watched him intently, "How is it going?"

"Collect as much as possible. Once we have gathered its pollen, we’ll be able to neutralize the poison of the red roots," said Ling Feng.

"Alright."

After listening, Ling Yao nodded once again and raised her hand a second time.

Moments later, more than a dozen Crimson Root Grass plants appeared before Ling Feng.

As he bent down to collect the white petals’ pollen, Ling Yao asked, "Don’t you find this situation a bit strange?"

"I do. The strangest part is not knowing who and where someone got their hands on the Crimson Root Grass!" While speaking, Ling Feng looked up, "And this person also knew about its toxicity, which is rather puzzling."

"Do you have any ideas about it?" inquired Ling Yao.

"Not right now. My only focus is on saving lives. The rest can wait until Uncle Lin is out of danger," Ling Feng said.

There wasn’t a lot of pollen from the Crimson Root Grass; all the plants combined yielded only a cluster the size of a mung bean.

Handling the small clump of pollen with care, Ling Feng then asked, "Do you want to come with me to see?"

"No need. Too many people might just cause further chaos, and it doesn’t seem like I can be much help," Ling Yao replied.

"Okay, I’ll go and save him first. We can talk about the rest when I’m back."

After saying this, Ling Feng left in a hurry through teleportation, returning to the hospital.

Outside the sickroom, Lin Huaqiang’s subordinates had come out, and they immediately opened the door upon his return.

"How is it? Did you find a solution?" Lin Xue asked as soon as she saw Ling Feng.

"Fortunately, I found the antidote!"

Ling Feng smiled, patted her head, and reassured her, "Don’t worry, Uncle Lin will be well soon!"

After that, he carefully took out the pollen and placed it into Lin Huaqiang’s mouth.

The room wasn’t just filled with Lin Xue and others; the doctor from earlier was also there, originally having come to deliver blood test results.

The toxicity test in the blood is a complicated procedure that requires a one-by-one comparison with common poisons to determine its nature. This report recorded dozens of comparison results, but none of them matched.

The doctor had originally intended to notify the family that they needed to draw blood from Lin Huaqiang again, to conduct further toxicity screening, but unexpectedly, he saw Ling Feng come in and, after saying a couple of words, administer something to the patient!

After a moment of silence, he expressed his dissatisfaction, "Sir, what you did was too much, this could interfere with our treatment!"

"Thank you for your reminder, but no treatment is necessary. He will be well very soon," Ling Feng replied with a smile.

"How is that possible!"

The doctor didn’t believe Ling Feng’s words at all, and was just about to refute him from a scientific standpoint, when suddenly Lin Huaqiang groaned and slowly opened his eyes!

Doctor: "..."

"Dad, how are you feeling?"

Lin Xue had already rushed to the bedside, squatting down and asking with a look of joy on her face.

"I feel okay, just a little weak," he replied.

Lin Huaqiang looked around and immediately understood what had happened, and so he glanced at Ling Feng.

No more words were needed; a look was enough.

"Doctor, he’s all right now. You can go ahead with your work. We’ll handle the discharge procedures in a bit," Ling Feng said.

"This..."

The doctor was dumbfounded, clueless as to how Ling Feng had achieved this.

However, since he had been quite subtly dismissed, all he could do was turn and leave. After stepping outside, while on his way back to his office, he muttered to himself, "What a strange turn of events, how did he know what poison the patient had been affected with, could it be the Crimson Root Grass mentioned before?"

The doctor’s muttering was unintentional, unaware that a person passing by paused upon hearing these words!

"Was it discovered this quickly?"

After saying this, the individual stepped toward the ward where Lin Huaqiang was.

Ling Feng had already closed the door and was asking Lin Huaqiang how he had been poisoned and whether there was anything suspicious.

Neutralizing the poison was only the first step; they had to find the person who had administered it.

But just then, there was a knock on the door. Xun Qianqian, who was closest to the door, opened it and saw a tall woman in a white lab coat with a mask over her face, so she asked, "What’s the matter?"

"I’m from the testing department. I just heard from Dr. Li that the patient’s poison has been neutralized?"

The woman’s voice was gentle, and behind her neat bangs, a pair of big eyes brimmed with curiosity.

Xun Qianqian nodded, "Yes, the poison has been neutralized."

"Then can you tell me what the toxin was? We’ve tested many types without success, and I’m quite curious," the woman inquired.

"Well, it was..."

"Qian Qian!"

Xun Qianqian hadn’t finished speaking when Ling Feng cut her off.

He had arrived at the door and, looking at the woman doctor, said with a smile, "Sorry, we actually don’t know what the toxin was. We just used a family heirloom, a medicinal pill that happened to neutralize the toxin inside Mr. Lin’s body!"

This statement was quite dismissive, clearly a pretext to avoid revealing the real situation!

Upon hearing this, the woman paused, then her big eyes crinkled, "Okay, then I won’t disturb you any longer!"

Afterward, she turned and left. Watching her walk away for some distance, Ling Feng then instructed one of Lin Huaqiang’s men, "Follow that woman for me; see if she really is from the hospital. If she isn’t, find out where she goes!"

"Got it!"

After closing the door again, Xun Qianqian immediately inquired, "What’s going on?"

Ling Feng chuckled, "Nothing much, I just found her arrival a bit strange, that’s all."
