Chapter 1767 - 1766: Smack’s Visit

Catherine was sitting in the house. When she saw Ling Feng return, she stood up and asked, "What have you been busy with?"

"I investigated this person Kidd, but the data is too complex, there are no results yet!"

Ling Feng said, looking at her, "Why were you gone for so long?"

"Met a few people with Li Tong by chance."

Catherine said, staring into Ling Feng’s eyes, "Guess what I heard from them?"

"About Kidd?" Ling Feng guessed.

Catherine shook her head, "No, they are also searching for the Star Map’s whereabouts!"

The call was from Gu Li, who chuckled upon hearing Ling Feng’s voice, "We do, but Boss, this situation is a bit complicated!"

"How so?"

Ling Feng frowned, asking in a deep voice.

"We’ve targeted a man named Kidd Patterson. He’s very mysterious, with unknown assets, complex social ties, dealings with The Holy See, Roth Family, Smack, and even hidden European families!"

"Damn, what kind of person is he?"

Ling Feng was stunned, feeling Kidd’s reach was far too broad!

Gu Li chuckled bitterly, "Indeed, Ah Min and I find it unbelievable too, to have ties with major powers worldwide, it’s not something an ordinary person can achieve!"

"Did you find his assets or permanent residence?" Ling Feng asked.

"Not yet, he’s elusive, no records of him in airports and railways!" Gu Li said.

At this point, his phone beeped with another incoming call.

Glancing at the number, Ling Feng’s heart skipped a beat and he told Gu Li, "Let’s hang up, I have something here, we’ll talk later!"

After hanging up, Ling Feng answered the incoming call, laughing, "Mr. Smack, hello!"

"Mr. Ling, finally got through to you. You seem to often be out of service!" Smack chuckled.

"Yes, been busy lately. What can I do for you, Mr. Smack?" Ling Feng smiled, asking.

Smack paused, then chuckled wryly, "Mr. Ling, forgetful amidst your honors, I mentioned visiting Shiliu Village to see the site personally, didn’t I?"

Ling Feng exclaimed softly, pretending realization struck, quickly asking, "Are you in our county now?"

"Just landed, about to head to Shiliu Village, are you at home, Mr. Ling?" Smack asked.

Ling Feng’s eyes flashed, smiling, "Wasn’t planning to be, but since you’re here, I’ll head home immediately to welcome you in the village!"

"Much appreciated!" Smack chuckled.

Ling Feng smiled, "You’re too kind. You’re our distinguished guest, I’ll certainly ensure a warm welcome. See you soon!"

"Goodbye!"

After hanging up, Ling Feng squinted, "Just heard about Kidd, now a spontaneous intelligence delivery, great!"

Catherine, aware of the situation, laughed too, "Since Smack has dealings with Kidd, maybe we can follow the lead!"

"Yes!"

Ling Feng nodded, took her hand, "Let’s head to the village committee office, and prepare a surprise for Smack!"

They left home, upon arrival at the village committee office, found preparations for welcoming had been made.

Smack’s visit for site inspection, naturally prior notice was needed, Li Yumei and Zhang Lan recognized his importance, prepared to welcome early.

With a drumming troupe, red carpet, and flowers, Ling Feng smiled, saying nothing.

After half an hour or so, a convoy of seven or eight cars slowly entered the road to Shiliu Village.

Along with Smack and his entourage were some local township leaders.

Being a substantial overseas investment project, high importance was naturally attached.

The convoy proceeded, Smack alighted, walking toward Ling Feng.

Ling Feng smiled, approaching, grasping his hand, straightforwardly asked, "Mr. Smack, what dealings do you have with Kidd Patterson?"
