Chapter 1661 - 1660: Catherine Has Arrived

After checking in, Ling Feng entered the room. It was already late; the sun had shifted west.

Ling Feng had just sat down, ready to figure out dinner plans, when there was a knock on the door.

Using his Divine Sense, he saw that it was Lina standing outside, which made him smile.

So he said the door was unlocked and let her in.

Entering the living room, Lina glanced around the presidential suite and said with a smile, "Mr. Ling has great taste; this room is really luxurious!"

"Cut the flattery, why are you here?" Ling Feng asked.

"I’m here to deliver the schedule for you, Mr. Ling."

Lina said, as she took several documents out of her bag.

Ling Feng glanced at them, saw they were in English, and didn’t bother to take them. He simply said, "Leave them on the coffee table."

After Lina set down the documents, he continued, "Is that all? If so, you can head back now!"

"Uh, actually my job is to handle your team’s daily activities and match needs, so if you need anything, you can always let me know," Lina said awkwardly.

Ling Feng looked at her: "You’re not planning to stay with us, are you?"

Lina was taken aback, then gave a wry smile: "I’m not sure where I offended you, Mr. Ling. If you’re uncomfortable, I can leave. Just call if you need help."

"It’s not that you offended me. It’s mainly because of your nationality. I don’t like that country, so I feel a bit distant. Please don’t mind!" Ling Feng explained.

He had nothing to hide; it was just the truth, so he spoke plainly without needing to lie.

Hearing this, Lina was momentarily stunned, then she understood.

She smiled and quickly explained, "Mr. Ling, you misunderstood. Although I am Korean by nationality, I actually went to Huaxia at the age of two, finished university there before coming to America, and both my parents are Huaxia people. Otherwise, how could I speak Mandarin so well!"

"Is that so?"

Hearing this, Ling Feng immediately let down his guard and said with a smile: "Then I apologize for my earlier behavior. If you’d like to stay, there are enough rooms in this suite for you to stay here."

"I’ll think about it,"

Lina’s job didn’t require her to live with the guests, and there was no such requirement from above. Her duties were merely daily guidance.

But as a Huaxia person, she was very excited to learn she would be hosting a team from Huaxia.

Especially after meeting Ling Feng and his team, Lina felt a strong sense of pride.

She wanted to do more to help this team.

But Ling Feng’s attitude left her a bit hesitant.

At this time, Mu Yuhan stood up, smiling, and said, "Miss Lina, don’t overthink it. Big Brother Ling is just straightforward. He’s not bad, really. You should stay. There are plenty of rooms; if it comes down to it, we can share a room!"

"Well, okay then!"

Lina thought about it and agreed.

With her around, Mu Yuhan felt much more at ease.

After all, while accommodations for twenty people were settled, plenty of other matters needed handling.

Like how the competition wouldn’t start for three days, and everyone needed arrangements for meals, entertainment, and shopping... everything required coordination.

Mu Yuhan as the translator and Lina as the guide—this setup seemed quite fitting!

After dinner, Ling Feng suggested everyone go out and enjoy the city, while he stayed back in the suite.

Checking the time, it was morning in Huaxia. Ling Feng picked up the phone and called Han Wancheng.

Once connected, Han Wancheng said: "You brat, why are you calling now? Didn’t you arrive five hours ago?"

"Got delayed a bit. What was I supposed to do, not settle in?"

Ling Feng chuckled, recounting everything that happened since he landed.

After listening, Han Wancheng pondered, "You might be overthinking it. Smack wasn’t targeting you specifically!"

"I don’t care. I felt annoyed, so I’ll definitely retaliate. Who told him to organize things so poorly?" Ling Feng replied.

"True, the setup was so basic, hardly befitting his status!"

Han Wancheng remarked, then asked, "Now that you’re all settled, what’s next on your agenda?"

"Not sure yet. I’ll have a chat with Catherine and then play it by ear!" Ling Feng laughed.

"Alright then, I’ll keep an eye on things from here. Make sure to inform me of any special updates you receive!" Han Wancheng said.

"Got it!"

Ling Feng nodded and hung up.

Seeing it wasn’t too late, he then dialed Catherine’s number.

This time it went smoothly; she answered right away: "Looking for me?"

"Yeah, guess where I am?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"Where else? I know your whereabouts. Aren’t you staying in a luxury suite at the Hilton Hotel?" Catherine inquired.

"Wow!"

Ling Feng sat up straight, amazed: "Is your intel that precise?"

"What did you expect?"

Catherine scoffed, then added, "Your timing is perfect. I was planning to come see you. Let’s discuss in person!"

"You’re nearby?" Ling Feng asked in surprise.

"Yes, are you surprised? We’re participating in the Superpower Users’ Competition too, you know!" Catherine said.

"True!"

Ling Feng nodded: "Since you’re here, let’s chat in person. I’m guessing you already know the room number, so I won’t bother telling you!"

"Alright, see you in ten minutes!"

Catherine said before promptly hanging up.

It wasn’t even ten minutes later when there was a knock on the door.

Then, Catherine, dressed in a red dress, entered the room.

Seeing her attire, Ling Feng smiled: "What a blonde beauty!"

"Cut it out!"

Catherine rolled her eyes at him and sat on the sofa, staring at him intently: "Nice going, not even contacting me beforehand, just bringing your people to America?"

"What’s wrong? Do I need your permission to come?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.

"Not that, but you forgot, didn’t you? The U.S. government and military know about your dealings with the Holy Light Society and the capture of Peter. They haven’t even confronted you yet, and you show up on their doorstep?" Catherine questioned.

Ling Feng was taken aback, then laughed: "If I were scared, I wouldn’t have come. So what? Are they after me?"

Catherine glanced at him: "What do you think?"

"I think they’re relentless, but it doesn’t matter. If they come to me, I’ll make sure they don’t come back. Who’s afraid of whom?" Ling Feng laughed.
