Chapter 1630 - 1629: Annoyed

Ling Feng stared intently and saw two snowmobiles approaching!

"I didn’t expect they’d bring these things on the truck?"

With a chuckle, Ling Feng stayed put.

The two snowmobiles sped past him, traveled a few dozen meters ahead, and then stopped.

All four people got off the vehicles, took out two metal boxes, and retrieved items from inside.

Upon seeing it, Ling Feng realized that the equipment was similar to what Mu Yuhan carried, and he narrowed his eyes, instantly understanding.

Like Mu Yuhan, they were here to collect signals.

However, these people did something different; they not only brought instruments but also two metal rods over a meter long.

The length and thickness resembled crowbars, but Ling Feng didn’t know what they were for.

As he pondered, one of them took a large hammer from the snowmobile while another held the metal rod, its tip piercing the ice surface!

"Ding!"

With one hit, the metal rod was driven deep into the ice layer, sinking over ten centimeters.

"Quite some strength!"

Ling Feng knew how hard this ice was; being able to drive it in this deep in one blow, that guy was definitely not an ordinary person.

With continuous hammering, the metal rod was driven seventy or eighty centimeters into the ice before stopping.

The second rod received the same treatment, and it was also driven into the ice.

Ling Feng watched with great interest, and a group of penguins stood at a distance, equally curious about what was happening.

As they finished, the two began wrapping wires around the ends of the rods, making Ling Feng’s eyes widen—were they going to blow it up?

Could those rods be explosives?

Watching them fix the wires, with the other end attached to a small device, Ling Feng couldn’t help but step back a few paces.

Whether explosives or not, he felt a thread of danger!

Seeing the people leave the metal rods unattended, Ling Feng guessed they wouldn’t be used until they left, so he retreated a little more.

After a while, as they packed up to leave, Ling Feng had moved back to his excavated ice cave.

The two snowmobiles sped off, and moments later, a deafening explosion echoed from a distance!

The ice layer within a several hundred meter radius collapsed into a massive pit!

Ling Feng was bewildered; he couldn’t understand this move—did they just blow up that section of the ice and leave it at that?

Watching the snowmobiles return to their camp, Ling Feng scratched his head, utterly baffled.

At that moment, a little head popped up from beneath the ice, and Long Xiaoyu asked with a giggle, "What are you staring blankly at here?"

"You’re back?"

Seeing her, Ling Feng hurriedly asked, "How was the teleportation back?"

"Smoothly, it took less than a minute to return to Nine Heavens!" Long Xiaoyu replied.

"That’s good!"

Ling Feng nodded and continued, "Has Mu Yuhan returned?"

"She’s back, inside!"

Seeing that he intended to look for Mu Yuhan, Long Xiaoyu turned and ducked back into the cave.

Ling Feng followed her down and, upon seeing Mu Yuhan, immediately asked, "There was an incident over there just now!"

He recounted the events, and Mu Yuhan was momentarily stunned, then quickly said, "Take me to see it!"

"Let’s go!"

Ling Feng led the way out, and Long Xiaoyu and Mu Yuhan followed.

The three headed straight to the explosion site, and upon seeing the massive pit in the explosion’s center, Mu Yuhan was taken aback.

Ling Feng didn’t rush to ask, patiently waiting until she turned around: "They killed the creatures below!"

"Huh? There were living things under the ice?" Ling Feng asked.

"Yes!"

Mu Yuhan nodded, "Initially, I was only suspicious, but seeing the Americans do this now confirms it!"

Ling Feng was bewildered, glancing back, "Why would they do that?"

"Maybe they only wanted to keep one and eliminate the others so no one else can have them?" Long Xiaoyu suggested.

Mu Yuhan nodded, "That’s possible!"

"But there could be other reasons; unless we find someone to ask directly, it’s hard to say!" she added.

Ling Feng nodded, his Divine Sense scanning the pit, but the collapsed thick ice layer prevented his Divine Sense from penetrating, leaving no discovery.

Even digging through the ice now would likely yield nothing since the original underground space was gone.

So he could only shake his head helplessly and sigh, "Forget it, knowing they would do this, next time in a similar situation, I’ll stop them first!"

"But doing so would easily expose our presence here!" Long Xiaoyu said.

"It doesn’t matter anymore!"

Ling Feng smiled and continued, "Since the Americans have gone this far, there’s no need to show courtesy, we’ll confront them directly!"

After speaking, he left the pit with the two women and returned to the ice cave.

Asked about Li Fei’er, Long Xiaoyu said, "She won’t be free until tomorrow; she’s assisting the local office in capturing a superpower user now!"

"Oh, alright then!"

Ling Feng nodded, squinting in thought, "Anyway, she’s supposed to come. According to Yuhan, if there really is some mysterious creature underground, she should step in!"

"She’ll teleport over once she’s done, no need to worry!" Long Xiaoyu said.

"Alright."

Ling Feng smiled, getting up and saying, "You both rest first, I’ll go over to their camp for a look!"

Upon hearing this, Long Xiaoyu quickly stood up, "You’re not planning to go on a rampage, are you?"

Ling Feng laughed, "Why would I? At least wait until they finish drilling the hole first!"

"Alright then, make sure to bring me along when the time comes!" Long Xiaoyu said.

Ling Feng agreed and turned to leave.

Outside, he activated the Invisibility Ring and headed to the opposite camp.

He hadn’t planned to look before, but the recent explosion fueled his discontent—the Americans were too arrogant!

This Antarctic continent is recognized as unowned territory, with treaties signed by many countries allowing only research here, not destruction!

Yet, the ones leading the treaty openly use explosives here?

How audacious!

Fuming, Ling Feng arrived at their worksite.

The drilling machine hummed softly, the depth unknown.

But having worked for dozens of hours, it seemed they were nearing the bottom.

Ling Feng didn’t pause, walking straight into the tent where Peter was.

This was the office area; accommodations were in other tents, and being rest time, the place was empty.

Ling Feng took out his phone and photographed the documents on the table.
