Chapter 1548 - 1547: Pit Bottom

An Ran and Chu Qing widened their eyes at once, "What task?"

"I have a list here of things that need to be done tomorrow. If you guys are thinking of helping, I’ll hand it over to you!"

Ling Feng said this and handed the list to the two girls.

After leveling the ground, the mobile house had to be built. Ling Feng had already designed the dimensions and needed to find manufacturers for quotes.

Moreover, arrangements had to be made to harden the vacant ground for easier transportation of equipment and materials in the future.

It looked like just two tasks, but it wasn’t that simple; it was impossible for one person to complete.

An Ran and Chu Qing exchanged glances and said crisply together, "Don’t worry, leave it to us!"

"Alright, since we have nothing to do today, you can start contacting the manufacturers. This speeds things up!"

Ling Feng said a line, then asked, "By the way, if there’s a need for a deposit or anything like that, I’ll give you a ten thousand advance, which should be enough before I get back!"

"Ten thousand?"

The two girls were dumbfounded at hearing this, and Chu Qing asked stammeringly, "We’ve only just met, and you trust us?"

"Of course, I trust you. Even if I don’t trust you, I trust Village Chief Chu!"

Ling Feng laughed.

The two girls thought about it and agreed, so An Ran took out her phone, "Truly someone doing great things, your style is just different. So, just transfer the money to me first. I promise not to embezzle a single dime!"

"Okay!"

Ling Feng nodded and directly transferred ten thousand over.

Then the two girls went hand in hand to contact the mobile house manufacturers, while Ling Feng went over to the construction site.

As it happened, the first truck that had left earlier returned, and Ling Feng went under the front of the vehicle to ask, "Driver, what’s the situation at the dump site?"

"It’s a huge pit, not far away, very convenient!" the driver said.

"Is the environment complex? Is it safe?" Ling Feng continued asking.

"Don’t worry; we are all seasoned drivers. It’s fine. Thanks, boss, for your concern!" the driver laughed.

Ling Feng nodded, feeling relieved.

He didn’t want his project to cause harm to anyone, even accidentally, because that would make him feel guilty.

At this point, the house had already been demolished, and the excavator was loading trash onto the truck. The work was proceeding orderly and might be completed before evening.

Unexpectedly, soon after the first truck driver set off, a message came back that the truck had run into trouble!

Ling Feng, along with the foreman, was anxious and rushed to the scene.

The dump site was located south of the village, only about two kilometers away. As Ling Feng approached, he saw the front of the truck was tilted upward, while the rear was already extending into the pit!

Fortunately, the driver had jumped out of the truck, so there was no danger to his life.

But if the truck were to fall, it would be quite a loss, so the foreman was immediately worried!

Irritated, he went forward and shouted, "What’s going on? I told you to be careful!"

"Boss, I was really careful, but who would’ve thought that something pulled at the truck before it got close, if I hadn’t stepped on the brake quickly, the truck would have fallen!" the driver explained with a frustrated face.

The foreman was still very upset, pointing at the tilted front of the truck, "What do we do now?"

"Have the truck behind pull it; it should come out. You see, it’s just stuck, temporarily won’t fall!" the driver replied.

No sooner had he said this, the foreman went to check it, then stamped his foot!

The fuel tank was stuck on a rock, and the truck’s chassis was slightly deformed!

Though the truck hadn’t fallen, the damage was already done and could only be dragged back for repairs!

Ling Feng also saw the condition of the vehicle and then comforted, "No need to worry, let’s figure out a way to drag the truck out first!"

"This month’s wages are wasted!" the foreman said bitterly.

Ling Feng smiled wryly, wanting to offer help, but after thinking about it, decided it would be a bit inappropriate since this wasn’t his responsibility!

So he didn’t say anything and just sighed.

The second truck arrived, connected the front of the stuck truck and its own rear with steel cables, and the foreman instructed the driver, "Drive slowly, don’t get too aggressive, or it’ll cost even more in repairs!"

"Got it."

The driver nodded and slowly revved the engine, then gradually dragged the stuck truck out.

A moment later, the truck was out of the pit, but its wheels were noticeably twisted.

The foreman looked distressed and circled around it, then suddenly pointed at the rear of the box, "What’s this?"

The driver was puzzled, "I-I don’t know."

Ling Feng went over to take a look and saw the box panel had a large dent, as if caused by immense force.

He then asked suspiciously, "Was this not here before?"

"It wasn’t earlier, what could be so strong to do this to eight-centimeter-thick steel?" the driver said in shock.

Ling Feng’s heart skipped a beat, then he quickly asked, "What happened to the truck body while reversing, how did it feel?"

"It just felt like the truck shook a bit, no specific sensation."

The driver thought for a moment, then explained, "The truck body plus the dirt in the box was over thirty tons. If I felt a violent shake, the force must be incredible!"

"Got it!"

Ling Feng nodded; something certainly hit the rear box panel. But although the force was enough to dent the panel, it wasn’t great enough to cause notable movement of the thirty-ton truck body.

So he thought for a moment and said to everyone, "Let’s tow the truck away first. As for the repair costs, I’ll take care of it!"

"Oh, how can we let you be troubled, Mr. Ling?"

The foreman, while saying polite words, was already smiling.

Ling Feng shook his head, "It’s just a small amount; you guys can leave first. I’ll look into the situation here! Hold off on dumping the remaining trash; find another place!"

"Alright, I’ll ask Village Chief Liu."

The foreman said and left with the truck.

After everyone had left, Ling Feng opened his Divine Sense and scanned the large pit under the cliff.

Only then did he discover the pit was far from ordinary, with a depth exceeding fifty meters, narrow at the top but very wide at the bottom, resembling a gourd.

Clearly, below, there were detectable waves of energy coming through.

"There’s something down there!"

Although Ling Feng couldn’t see the entire environment below, combined with the truck incident, he could sense something was wrong.

So he turned to look around, and seeing no one was nearby, he summoned Tian Lian.

"Check what’s down there for me," Ling Feng said calmly.
