The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 1546 - 1545: An Ran

Chapter 1546 - 1545: An Ran

At the western end of the village, a courtyard came into view.

This courtyard was indeed quite large. The walls were somewhat collapsed, so the inside situation could be seen from the outside.

This was the elementary school. The playground was overgrown with weeds, and there were various pieces of garbage scattered and hidden among the grass.

Behind the playground, next to the hillside, was a row of single-story houses. The doors and windows had long been gone, and parts of the roof had fallen in.

Seeing the house’s state of disrepair, Ling Feng shook his head, knowing it had to be demolished and definitely could not be used again.

Standing on the playground and taking a look around, Ling Feng began to walk toward the western wall.

Chu Zhennan had also promised him the courtyard of the adjacent forest farm, so he wanted to check out the situation there.

But after taking just two steps, a shadow suddenly flashed inside the abandoned classroom, drawing Ling Feng’s attention!

He turned his head to look but saw no one.

Ling Feng curled his lips into a smile, thinking to himself, could someone actually avoid my Divine Sense?

With a thought, he had already seen the person hiding in the classroom.

Afterward, Ling Feng was stunned.

It turned out to be a young girl, who was nervously leaning against the wall, appearing extremely tense.

Ling Feng didn’t understand the situation but sensed she seemed scared of him, thus hiding.

He quickly figured it out; it was natural for her to be afraid, given he was a grown man and she was just a young girl, especially in such an isolated area outside the village.

So Ling Feng didn’t pay her any further attention, heading directly to the wall and climbing over it into the forest farm courtyard.

The girl from his Divine Sense let out a sigh of relief, peeked out a few times, and then hastily walked out.

Seeing her tying a belt around her waist, Ling Feng realized she had gone there to relieve herself.

Shaking his head with a bitter smile, he quickly withdrew his Divine Sense.

The courtyard of the forest farm was noticeably smaller than the school’s, and the buildings were so dilapidated they could hardly be used!

Ling Feng noticed a large stone pile in the courtyard, so he walked over and sat down, pondering to himself.

The area was adequate, but substantial effort would be needed for the initial cleanup.

Demolishing houses, clearing the grass—these tasks flashed through Ling Feng’s mind, making him realize Chen Yuhe’s previous concern about the various projects wasn’t easy.

After thinking it over for a while, Ling Feng took out his phone and sent a message to Chen Fei.

Afraid of interrupting her meeting, he opted to send a text. But before long, Chen Fei replied immediately: "I’ll contact the mechanics as you mentioned, they might even arrive earlier than me!"

"Alright, I’ll just wait for them."

Ling Feng didn’t expect her to arrange it so swiftly, nodding his head in acknowledgment.

With nothing else for now, he intended to return to the township government office to ask Chu Zhennan about the arrangement for construction waste.

As he reached the entrance of the forest farm, he saw someone standing outside—it was the girl from earlier.

Ling Feng was taken aback, somewhat puzzled, and asked, "Why are you here?"

The girl was more surprised than he was, widening her eyes as she asked, "Do you know me?"

"No!"

Realizing his slip, Ling Feng quickly explained, "There aren’t many people here, so seeing you made me pause."

"Oh, I thought you spotted me earlier."

The girl relaxed, then asked, "Are you the boss of the mountain goods store?"

"Yes, I am. How did you know?" Ling Feng asked.

The girl, about eighteen or nineteen years old, wore jeans and sneakers, her face full of youth’s vibrancy and energy.

Seeing she seemed less guarded than earlier, Ling Feng wondered what she was up to.

The girl smiled, exposing two small canine teeth, "Your name is almost well-known throughout the township, so I certainly know!"

After speaking, she carefully inspected Ling Feng and then asked, "Besides, are you the Ling Feng?"

"Which Ling Feng?"

A bit confused by her words, Ling Feng asked.

"The one who’s the Island Master of Lingyun Island!" the girl replied.

"Oh, that’s me!"

Ling Feng realized, smiling and nodding, then asked, "What’s your name?"

"My name is An Ran. By the way, why would the Island Master come visit our small village to open a mountain goods store?" the girl asked.

"That’s a long story, but it seems you don’t really know me very well!"

Ling Feng chuckled and began to walk toward the village.

An Ran hurried after him, curiously asking, "Really? Can you tell me about it?"

"Is your curiosity that strong?"

Ling Feng helplessly smiled and said, "I have some things to do. Let’s talk another time when there’s an opportunity!"

"What are you going to do?"

An Ran still followed behind, her eyes full of curiosity.

With no other option, Ling Feng briefly explained his objective.

After hearing it, An Ran’s eyes immediately widened, soon filled with delight, "Oh my god, you’re planning to invest here!"

"Yes, not just in your village. Ling Corporation has a dedicated department for poverty alleviation and development, and there have been successful cases!"

Ling Feng said, continuing, "Now I’m going to meet the township chief to discuss construction matters, so I’ll be heading off!"

"That’s perfect, let’s go together!"

An Ran not only did not stop but instead caught up again.

Ling Feng was slightly surprised, glancing at her, "What? Are you looking for him too?"

"Kind of. The township chief is my uncle, and I’m staying at his house!" An Ran nodded.

"Uh..."

Ling Feng hadn’t expected this connection, and was momentarily stunned.

But he didn’t dwell on it, nodding his head, "Alright then."

The two of them returned to the village and went straight to Chu Zhennan’s office at the township government.

Walking in the door, seeing An Ran alongside Ling Feng, Chu Zhennan was briefly caught off guard, "Ranran, what brought you here? Where’s Qingqing?"

"She’s still at home sleeping in!"

An Ran replied, and then explained, "I went out for a run this morning, happened to meet Mr. Ling, chatted briefly with him, and just followed over!"

"Is that so?"

Chu Zhennan smiled, then addressed Ling Feng, "Mr. Ling, An Ran is my sister’s daughter, a straightforward personality—no signs of any impolite behavior, right?"

"None at all."

Ling Feng shook his head, smiled, and took a seat, directly addressing the issue, "Township Chief, since those two vacant areas are handed over to me, construction vehicles will start working soon. I want to ask, where should we dispose of the demolished houses and other construction waste?"

"That’s easy. Not far south of the village is a cliff—just dump them inside!" Chu Zhennan said.

Ling Feng was taken aback, then somewhat stunned, "Is this suitable?"

In his view, this mountainous area was all primitive forest, casually dumping construction waste there would indeed damage the environment, wouldn’t it?

Chu Zhennan simply smiled, "Don’t worry, the bottom of that cliff is just a large pit—nothing valuable to protect!"
